Why not just list Roy of the fucking Rovers' attributes as a basis for finding a player??? Fuck sake Mcghee was a striker so he should already KNOW what a fucking striker is! We've been given an unbelievable amount of shit to swallow since FT in the last game of last season.

Primal Scream to play Screamadelica in its entirety
maverick sheep replied to Kowalski's topic in Off Topic
I'm goin on the friday too. I love xtrmntr an the rest but screamadelica always sounds the most complete to me. The one most suited to being played in full live. Also the best to get off my tits at without worry...xtrmntr could either be immense or send me off on a bad un. -
CSKA Moscow - Gazprom FC Tokyo - Nippon oil and... "Juventus and Tamoil - £165m over 10 years At the time of its agreement, in 2005, the potential ten-year shirt naming rights deal (worth £75m over the first five years, and £90m if renewed for the next five) between Juventus and Libyan-owned oil company, Tamoil, was claimed to be the biggest in football history. However, it was penned little more than a year before the calciopoli corruption scandal exploded in Italy. Juventus, deemed the guiltiest of many guilty parties, were banished to serie B, and Tamoil promptly called a halt to their support for la vecchia signora. The Turin club had managed to recoup only £24m from the before the deal was called off."

Last season's 'next level' and this season's 'next level' are two completely different things as the OP intimates. Last season it would've been progress to be reaching cup finals and finishing a comfortable third but it seems Hibs are taking that step, even though we had the head start. This season's next level is to finish secure top 6 and go out in any round of the cup so long as it's not to lower division. Heady heady days. ps. IT'S ALL YOUR FUCKIN FAULT PADRE!!! PEE EMM GEE!!!

I misread the title of this thread. I thought it was one of FJ's necro picture shows. That being so, I must say I'm very disappointed about the actual content I found here!

Are the AFC boards becoming the Ministry of Truth? I mean one already was but I'm sure there's no connection... On topic though, it was very gracious of you to give the guy who missed euro qualification in his first season by goal difference 3 years to get it right. The two scenarios are obviously parallel.

Not just Arabic. Eastern European and Middle Eastern vultures plus a couple of the most blatantly corrupt Englishmen in sport. A cocktail like that would fuck anybody!
-
Too much to too few supporters maybe, but I think it's more to do with listening to bullshit excuses made by corporate investors as to why they weren't continuing to put their cash in. Piss poor judgement at the top either way.

Anyone who has enough energy to boo when witnessing the kind of pish we have been just doesn't care enough to embrace the depression full on.

I reckon Mark McGhee will resign...
maverick sheep replied to Dons1903's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Agree with Dave on that one. I don't know names but the most quick to voice disgust and fury tend to be middle aged folk from what I see and hear. Younger ones are usually going with the flow more and not going in with pre-conceived notions that they're going to be disappointed. Like in the previous post, young folk know their money can get them better entertainment if that's what they want. It's not though, they want to support their club and aren't just doing so out of either habit, or a holier than thou desire to remind everyone how good the club (and young people generally...) were in their day. on topic - he'll resign before he's pushed. probably in june at this rate. -
McGhee resigned to losing MacLean and Paterson
maverick sheep replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
What an exercise in futility. We've had MacLean in particular being described as desperate to secure his release from his contract to play for us when that was clearly total bullshit. With Miller (and soon to be Mulgrew, MacD and others) off the wage bill why the fuck are we still being told next season's budget doesn't allow for us to even maintain an even keel? Even in the dark days of 90s early 00s I was never as despondent about the state of our football club as now. I don't give a fuck who is MORE to blame, everyone involved in Aberdeen from fan's to chairman have made the club appear rotten to the core. -

I think maybe Mcghee/AFC are taking the opposite approach with Paton to that taken with Mogwaire. He possibly played too much too young. It's the same concern for a midfielder in that we don't want to overexpose them but Fyvie or Pawlett won't get slated for going 10 games without a goal. Paton would, just like Mogwai does. So fair enough try and build him up a bit slower than the midfielders despite him being a couple years older. Having said that. If it's a cup final I'm going for Mackie and Paton up front. Maclean has to earn a place for me as much as those 2 have to lose it.

EE: McGhee: ‘I can make Aberdeen FC great again’
maverick sheep replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
So the EE are basically reprinting the news from the other day? Fuck off charlie allan -
I think he said a lot of things in the heat of the moment that he'd probably have rather not said or said differently. If anything at least he gives a shit and takes it personally when things aren't going well. However maybe that's not an advantage. I doubt Fergie really gave much of a shit what Aberdeen fans thought about him or his players. I do think Fergie would've tried to create a siege mentality though and it seems like that's what Dingus is attempting to do. The problem is the media generally either view Aberdeen as an irrelevance, through rose tinted specs, or consistently harshly. Lack of balanced, unbiased journalism means there's no real leverage to create the siege mentality unless it's the aberdeen fans that are being used as the 'them' in the 'us and them' game. One other point though. If all that was him speaking from the heart then what I'm trying to do, I don't know if educate is the right word, but certainly persuade him, that hey, sometimes when thousands of boozed up football fans start howling abuse it's not so much a deliberate assault on the people their venting specifically names, as it is a general release of frustration and angst. A howling at the moon type of rage that is better letting out at the time instead of bottling it up until it finds a less socially acceptable way of releasing itself later on. Performances like that one would best be met with priimal screaming rather than actual words, but civilization has evolved us beyond that point. Those most culpable (the players who don't perform and the man ultimately responsible for the players) will inevitably bear the brunt of that outlet of emotion. Criticising the fans for the sake of critism alone is redundant, if it's for the purpose of motivating the players then fine, if on the other hand it's a means to create an excuse (fan induced lack of confidence) for getting pumped by hibs and celtic then that is less acceptable in my mind...though probably the smart thing for a manager to do.

Team of Two Decades - midfield
maverick sheep replied to Reekie_Red's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Bett, Jess, Mason, Glass 1st 3 can't be left out imo and Glass was one of my favorite dons. Shame Newcastle ruined him. -
At least it makes a welcome change from all the trash talk that's been goin on recently.
