Lee Miller: Will he stay or will he go?
maverick sheep replied to Wanderingdon's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
We've had no fit wingers since he came back and I fail to see how you could call our performances against st mirren and killie 'playing some good stuff' We played well the 2 games against hearts and he was a big factor in that. I'm sick of people expecting him to be a different type of player. I wish he had the pace to run around like mackie and not therefore be unable to get back to the position we need him in, but he doesn't. He, like all almost every aberdeen player has serious flaws in his game but he plays is a big part for us when the rest of the team are up for doing the leg work and making use of his technical ability. the pitch sounded in awful condition so maybe that had something to do with the doomed long ball tactics. stop with the scapegoats people please! -
Miller and McDonald put contract talks on hold
maverick sheep replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Shoddy journalism...however true it probably is! -
Humble and honest. Is it not the case that until all the broken bones and murder attempts of recent decades, Aberdeen's main target for hatred was not Rangers but Celtic? And is it not true also to say that Nowadays we have pride in our loathing for BOTH the OF cunts? I'm surprised there are people who are unaware of that.

I loved fife once and was itching for days!

It's difficult to call because the pressure is on Murray either way. Avoid the losing finals to Fed habit or deal with being (presumably) favorite against Tsonga. Seen the shot late on round the net post? Magical!

FUCKIN YASSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

He was moaning at the ref for the entire 90. Just made it all the funnier over all. On the way out I heard a jambo say he thought Fyvie was offside but haven't seen highlights so I don't know. As for hearts dominating at any point, nae chance. It was even at best up until they brought Black on and thereafter Aberdeen were getting ever more dominant (and confident!!) and hearts ever more inept, frustrated, petulant and their fans quiet. They were in the game until 2-0 and did collapse then, but being in the game and dominating are totally different things.

Has anyone said what the fuck the story was with the guy who got dragged off kicking and screaming by about 6 stewards and policemen? I think it was shortly after Fyvie became the youngest ever SPL goalscorer

I was gutted he lost some games I expected him to win but its 1 vs 1 on the day and I've not thought of his losses as choking since maybe 3 or 4 years ago when he was young and inexperienced. The US open final also was possibly a choke but that already equalled the achievement of any 'UK' player in the modern era and at a far younger age, so possibly he deserves some benefit of the doubt? Maybe the OZ exits were 'choking' too but some players have certain tournaments that they are a bit hit or miss. Did people call Nadal a choker when he couldn't win on anything but clay before 2008? Probably. And I'll bet those people don't bring that up too often nowadays. Since he has gone on to win wimbledon and OZ...tho they still call him a choker in US i suppose. I did think last year would be his year but looking at this year I can't see anyone who has as much motivation as Murray. I think he'll win the US open. If it's a trophyless year, so fuck? If he wins he wins if he doesn't who's he letting down? He's in an individual sport being forced to represent the very same people who call him a traitor for not being red, blue and white, or even just don't like him because he's not a pure as snow, dull as ditch water tim henman type. He's in it for himself and good for him. Hedoes what he does and I choose to follow him or not. Being a critic is totally nutless. I support him and cheer for him but if he loses then I won't have the cheek to call him a choker until I can come close to achieving what he already has.

That was priceless. I'm not saying folk are wrong for liking it but I was expecting something that dealt with Aberdeen's success as it developed further. Never seen the prog before so I hadn't realised 'football years' necessarily meant a series about single seasons. The title being plural could indicate either a series of single years or a collection of single shows that cover a varying number of years. I wrongly expected the latter so only saw a tiny part of what I was expecting. I agree with rocket that it is the best dons prog for a couple decades...which is why I said the prog from the mid 80s is a better watch. And I did enjoy some of the interviews but like I said originally it seemed as though there would've been far more watchable content, esp from the interviews, than they actually fit into that show. The content about the two cup finals was a distraction that didn't really add much to my (biased) viewing experience. For me the real story was Fergie's revolution and while great to see him interviewed in a modern prog, his time on air probably only added up to about 2 mins. I went in expecting too much of the programme and as a result only enjoyed 1/2 to 2/3 of it. Obviously nice to see some dons coverage but given the 2 seconds they devoted to gothenburg I somehow doubt 1983 will feature as one of the Daily record's 'football years' in future. Hopefully I'm proved wrong.

Not really. Seemed like 4 or 5 interesting interviews or bits of footage hacked to fuck to fit the required length. Whole thing seemed to just end abruptly at the point where they could shoe horn in the required OF jibber jabber. The youtube clips of the 80s tv show posted last week had far more interest than this half hearted attempt did.

For fuck sake! 20 mins of a 1 hour show for Dundee Utd winning a league cup replay?! Who gives a flying hairy ball of fuck?

Dunfermline reinstated! Fucking SFA cockmunchers. Our game is a joke, run by a bunch of clowns.

AAAAAAAARGHHHHHH You're so fucking insensitive! I'm going through a heavy period in my life and would appreciate a little understanding. He's a bloody cunt.

I'd bring him back if his wages were reasonable as it would give us an emotional, spiritual and possibly psycho-sexual lift and would also mean we actually had a captain for the 1st time since...well since Russell Anderson.
-
Exactly. Better using the wages on a defender and a striker instead of a one trick poney. Considering he is currently playing for the best offer he can get and putting himself in the shop window, his performance on Tues suggests that he'll always be a liability defensively. Certainly not good enough to be a top earner. I'd rather we had no threat from free kicks if it meant we shored up at the back and had any capability of scoring from open play (and taking corners).
