  1. you hurt my feelings. Also that's my contribution to the 'fund-a-ho-for-fj' pot withdrawn.
  2. Surely you could find a few lads to buy you a birthday hole?
  3. Richard Gordon post match mentioned that the tactics changed so much that it was hard for even Jimmy C in the studio to keep up with them. True.
  4. Mulgrew over all was an absolute joke. He has the passing ability but none of the other defensive attributes. Ifil has the defensive attributes but not the passing ability. Without Ifil in the 1st half we could've been 3 down since Mulgrew is blatently unwilling to stick a head on it or make a challenge. Langfield - decent Young - decent Mulgrew - joke Ifil - decent (over all but passing is dire) Grassi - Poor Pawlett - Quiet by his standards Fyvie - decent Kerr - Shits his pants when a forward pass is required. Before humans grew legs there were probably better footballers than Mark Kerr. Marshall - dire Foster - decent Mackie - decent but needed a target man beside him because as hard as he tried he isn't one. Macguire - decent Paton and Wright - not much of a look Over all conclusion - thank fuck for pubs.
  5. AFC must love having Charlie Allan around to give them a seemingly active presence in the market. A suck up who'll print whatever he's told because he understands enough to know that any journalistic integrity (such as checking whether stories are actually true) would lose him his priveledged access.
  6. Nicked this from the official website apologies if everyone's read it all already (Preview of the match inc. latest on McLean and Ross) - St Mirren v Aberdeen 11 January 2010 7.45pm kick off Tickets will be available for Aberdeen supporters from 6.30pm tomorrow night from North Stand (away) ticket office. For ticket prices please click here. Zander Diamond today handed Aberdeen a huge boost by returning to training. The 24 year old has suffered terrible luck with injuries so far this season, so let's hope his latest comeback is a successful one. Diamond joined the rest of the first team squad for training this morning at the Aberdeen Sports Village. Following the session Manager Mark McGhee met the press for his pre match conference ahead of tomorrow's Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League trip to face St Mirren. St Mirren had a good result on Saturday in the cup as well. A player got a hat-trick and that always gives them confidence but this is our game in hand. We are very determined to continue our run and make progress in catching Dundee Utd and Hibs in particular. "The past two results are good for positive momentum but those two games are now done. "Although the confidence gained from the two results will do us good, It will still be a very hard job to go and win away from home. "We played well at times on Saturday and have played well at times during the season but we are still a bit away from playing consistency and in a shape that people will be able to look at the team and recognise the personnel and the style of play. Things at the moment are still able it mixed but there are elements that are encouraging." Maurice Ross, meanwhile, has almost certainly played his last game for the Dons, and the defender could be set for a move to China. "Maurice has as good as left the football club," said the Dons boss. "My agreement with Maurice was that he would stay until January. I always hoped that he might change his mind and be persuaded to stay or that he would not get an offer that he is hoping for abroad that would make it impossible for us to keep him. "It looks like he is going to China. Maurice has had a couple of injuries but has done a good job and made a good contribution to the early part of my time here and we are grateful for that. "The Steve McLean situation remains the same. Steven is determined that he is going to make a permanent move out of Plymouth and until that happens he is not going to move. There is no movement on any of the other players we are looking at at the moment." RedWeb earlier confirmed that next week's Clydesdale Bank SPL match against Falkirk (19th January) has been postponed due to the Bairns Scottish Cup involvement. Eddie May's side face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park next Monday, after the initial tie was postponed for a second time over the weekend.Mark was not too concerned though. "The football game being moved is disappointing but we will have Lee Miller back, Sone and Zander will have more training under their belt and I will be able to go and watch the Raith Rovers v Airdrie game so it is not the end of the world."
  7. What they're on about is the idea that Labour represent nice but dims. Which is more or less believable if comparing them to other main parties.
  8. CCR - Bad Moon Rising
  9. Not too worried which. Airdrie easy to get to, Raith for the novelty (and playing against a team that legitimately belong in the league). Either way it's a tough tie but one we should win.
  10. You mean 'Dunfermline/Stenhousemuir' surely?
  11. I'm liking Mcghee's thinking more and more each day
  12. Theo but Langfield isn't far behind.
  13. Stenhousemuir! Revenge. Also would be funny to see Dunfermline chucked out and one of their greatest results wiped.
  14. Ifil I like. In the games I've seen I realise he can't pass but he can tackle and can scare forwards. Against celtic he was shit but that's a lack of experience. Generally I've been impressed with him and don't think he deserves the criticism he's had recently. Scotland is a strange league given the step up you need to make from playing ie falkirk to playing OF. I've seen just about as much to impress from him as I have from Zander or consi. Mackie is a grafter and if he was more vocal could be a captain. When I saw young was RB i actually wondered if maybe turning Mackie into a full back would be a good idea. That might be ludicrous but I'm curious what folk think about that. His crossing isn't top notch and neither is his tackling but he is willing to make a tackle unlike some! is the latter not easier to teach also? He gets stuck in and gives his all so maybe teach him the positional sense of a wing back and we're onto something.
  15. Thought his ban applied to cup since it was violent conduct?
  16. At the time of writing the previous, I was a bit bombastic due to drink but in my defence, what I was getting at by "back the club or fuck off" was that if you're getting the club hit by potential fines (re Sigma) then you shouldn't be complaining about the club not backing you over the incident, as I read on the Ultras board at the time. The RU got very defensive about that instead of publicly and loudly telling the people involved to take their punishment and get out the Ultras. How much of that was 'senior' members rather than helpers doesn't matter unless claims of unfair treatment were purely made by unaffiliated posters on the ru board. but i doubt that's the case given that even the statement about disbanding cites the feeling by the ru that the club has generally treated them unfairly. The RU lost control of their hangers on and didn't help AFC in sorting that out. Instead they once again let hangers on make the whole group look bad and potentially cost the club money. If the above ref to the EE story is correct then the Ultras were going to get suspended but instead of addressing the issues with their followers, simply disbanded. That's not backing the stance of AFC, that's acting like a misunderstood and put upon bunch when it was just that they were too stubborn to accept responsibility. The second part, "you're not special just because you think you're different" is not bollocks, it's the problem with the general attitude of the ru in a nutshell imho. I'm sure most of the mature ru have the best of intentions but they are ultimately responsible for the ru generally fucking it up for themselves.
  17. Beat me to it. Charlie Allan just fucking retire! Stephen Dobbie looked decent last season so happier about that.
  18. For the crossbar challenge Foster was savvy about saying chinaman instead of chinky because 'we don't wanna be racist today'. Captain material right there!
  19. Does sound like Maclean might be on his way but still not sure how we're expecting to meet the financial demands. Don't remember seeing Dobie much so I can't judge but his record is definately not impressive, especially since he's 31. Barr I just can't see happening but would be the best signing we've made in donkeys. As for Paton, I can see the logic to an extent since a good run could be what his development needs and Marshall + new strikers would limit his appearences. but I would rather loan him to spl than 1st div given the goals dennis wyness got in 1st but lacked in spl. Macguire and Mackie may as well be given to the end of the season to see if they have a future with us.
  20. Or when it is necessary, create your own formula to determine your bets and security bets, making the specific odds practically meaningless unless you're betting so often as to make the extra few pennies averaged per day actually significant to you. I love the advice genuinely, however I bet with the people I have money in the account with. I don't have a paddy account. if as bobby's post led me to believe, their odds are often better than betfair then i'll inevitably set up an account. but as of now I haven't deposited my own money since the summer and haven't been looking to. Bet comparison sites do make sense I'll grant you that, but genuinely if i'm going to win i'll win, if not, not. if not being obsessively greedy makes me a 'cunt' in your eyes then so be it. I have no idea who you are so forgive me if i find your opinion laughably irrelevant. Your kind of posts are what this site has been lacking in comparrison with the junior dons messageboards.
  21. Sure but you do realise that superstition leads me to believe that will coincide with a spectacular losing streak?
  22. I have a lack of understanding of the difference between asian and regular handicapping. Not a misunderstanding of the difference between 17/10 for -3 goals and 1.64 for -2.5 goals. And what you noted yesterday I'm willing to bet is that someone was talking about changing horse racing odds from fractional to decimal. A pointless effort based on the dubious assumption that odds are misunderstood. Your misguided attempt to help is greatly appreciated. You are terrific!
  23. I smell shite.
  24. 'punters like me' punters who bet small but are up £400 on the last 10 months? Really? I was going to say thanks to bobby and mention i already went with betfair before his post but my point was actually to do with the difference between asian and regular handicaps. Thanks for taking an interest though...
  25. no wait...I've done that!
