Regardless of any perceived success (two seasons with Norwich in reality), this is a man who played for the tims, allegedly supported the huns, and believes the new club should not have been "relegated". It's a no from me.
-
I think it'll be Goodwin. Based on nothing more than St Mirren giving him a new contract, when the "McInnes out" stuff started 6/7 weeks ago and the Chairman making some comment about it in the papers today. Wouldn't surprise me if we had made tentative enquiries in Jan/early Feb. Probably the best out of a poor lot of possibilities. Agree with Rico that we need to overhaul the whole set up with a DoF or Sporting Director, coaching staff that are employed regardless of manager/head coach etc.

Tri-opoly? Not sure if hun? Don't think this is like the Calderwood situation at all. McInnes has been backed financially far more than Calderwood was. Calderwood was always likely to take points/beat the tims or original huns. Albeit lose to St Mirren 0-3 the next week. McInnes has been "more successful" because he is more cautious, rigid formations, and better players. I'd go as far to say Calderwood would have had us gubbing teams with this squad, just picture it, Ash Taylor up front, Logan as a man marking CDM, McKenna at Peterhead... You say 3 points off third I say 19 points off the worst tim side since the 80's. He should have gone after the 2017 cup final, or at the very least the end of the following season after beating the new huns to second. I think he would have gone to the huns when they came in for him if they hadn't been such a dishonest financial basket case. That was the point when the relationship turned sour and also the point he seems to have become dis-interested. Poor transfer planning leading to poor signings, poorly planned game tactics, general lack of drive and enthusiasm for the job.

Exactly it’s not a competition. It’s just a commercial vehicle for the status quo. Said for years we news to take a leaf from the Americans socialist sport leagues, it’s the only way Scotland will ever be competitive again. -

The complicit media, for me, is the most disgusting thing. We’ve known for decades that the folk involved in those clubs and the governance of the game in Scotland are more corrupt than anything else in World football. Everyone knows Rangers went into admin and were eventually liquidated, everyone knows the assets were sold. Everyone knows the league membership was transferred to a new club. The media reported it accurately at the time. Now it’s same club myth at every opportunity. Quite happy to acknowledge they are a new club established to replace the liquidated one and to that end are some form of continuation. I can also acknowledge their first title. Only took about £150 million in loans converted to equity to achieve it. Which further highlights the corruption. First thing the SPFL should have implemented is FFP, but knew the new huns would need that advantage. I assume their hope was they’d win a cup from the lower divisions. Have to agree with you, totally scunnered with Scottish fitba. Back to how I felt at end of 00’s early 10’s, it’ll become a secondary consideration again. Scottish football will be back in the doldrums, there will be a significant drop in crowds when fans at eventually allowed back. I’ll probably move back home in the next 10 years but it’ll likely be Highland League where I spend money when I do. The cessation of the huns existence was a HUGE missed opportunity in the governance of the game. -

Seen on Twitter the huns are having a super-spreader event outside ibrox (maybe one of them will have brought the deeds as well as an infectious disease) for winning their first ever title and the first ever Scottish Premiership training league. Fuck knows why they think it’s called the 55 title, like? Even if covid wipes half of them out it won’t increase the groups average IQ, thick cunts. -
Unsure how more clear I could have been? My first post states “a bit of policy regarding public interaction with opposition players accounts”. I have subsequently taken some of your points on board and clarified that with “things that are clearly club marketing posts”. No mention of only rangers players. So let me clarify further by saying competitor (i.e. playing in the same league) player accounts and/or actual competitor club accounts and certainly those that are clearly marketing posts. A good employer backs up good policy with good training. So “punishment” might be additional media training. I’ve had to do it with employees who have posted things that may seem normal or harmless to you or me but then “friended” customers who took offence. So training was on limiting who can see your posts, considering whether “friending” customers was a good idea and within company policy (its not). In this instance the huns clearly requested that he post it and it clearly bothered our fans. In any industry it’s not wise to piss off you customers particularly at a point in time when fan/customer engagement is already strained. Like it or not footballers are public figures and as employees are part of that clubs brand. It’s easy to pass social media off as for kids or people reacting too it as childish, but the fact is it does bother people and the public do take note of things. The huns obviously realise the power of it and as such have someone writing posts for their players. I’m sure in this instance the person responsible knew he would have dons fans following his account that would be triggered in the same way they had Jack “announce” his signing. In turn I’m sure that increased the interactions, probably not only for his account but likely the huns official one too. I think they spend a lot of money (they likely don’t have) on social media, so the more interactions the better. Until I blocked them I’d regularly get promoted tweets on my feed. All I’m suggesting is a bit of awareness from our club on maintaining their fan engagement within social media. Just caveating their good luck messages with “except when we play you”, or even a “look better in red”, would have diffused things and kept our fans on-side, but as said there is no reason why they needed to interact at all. Plenty of non public ways to pass on well wishes.

Yet we know some football clubs do control players social media content, i.e. tell them what to post, as it’s part of the clubs brand. His post is a prime example of that, unless he’s just immediately turned into the type of complete moron that deliberately adds Union Jacks to his social media posts. Liking a friends post is fine. I think the line is crossed when it’s a rival football clubs marketing pish they’re liking. Most workplaces have a social media policy. It may be dystopian but it’s a now type of dystopia.

I couldn’t give a fuck what folk post, like or comment on, on social media. I certainly don’t worry about it. In this instance I didn’t mention Vyner, Monakana or Watkins as they’re not paid by our club to beat rival teams. Maybe the english rivalry analogies were misplaced. But I don’t remember any of the Aberdeen squad at the time publicly congratulating Judas Robertson on his move? The point is our players are being paid to go onto a pitch and work their arses off to beat our rivals. Not be all matey on social media posts clearly prepared by a rival club. They have mobile phones for those personal messages. I had a quick look on McCrorie’s post from when he signed. Couldn’t see a single hun player congratulating him. You obviously disagree but I think it’s poor social media policy from our club. Even from a non football perspective, I doubt a widely recognised company would be happy if a number of their employees started liking social media posts advertising a widely recognised competitors products.
-
Do they not have his phone number? Could they not have wished him well in person? It's not as if he's even a prolific social media user, the post is quite clearly a hun club instigated one; "Absolutely over the moon to be joining such a MASSIVE club, it's such an honour" Football is tribal and there are rivalries. I'm sure there are friendships or even familial ties within the game that transcend footballing rivalries, but these are generally private. I'm sure, in part to avoid fan dis-engagement. Could you imagine Roy Keane wishing Paul Ince well on his signing for Liverpool (not that Roy Keane would have ever had Instagram)? or even Carragher liking Owen's Man Utd signing photos? Mind Neville in the tunnel with Schmeichel when he was playing for Citeh, refusing to even shake hands? Then again those guys were/are winners, that is likely the difference. No one is saying don't wish you mate well, maybe just don't do it on a public platform while your mate is wearing a rival's shirt with a caption bigging up how MASSIVE said rivals are.
-
Was also liked or well wishing comments by Niall McGinn, Greg Leigh, Ryan Hedges, Michael Ruth... Quite clear from the latest rats comment’s that it’s not only your soul you sign away when joining the minks, but your social media accounts too. I’d have thought ryanrat’s reveal post, was club ordered too. That thick cunt didn’t come up with it anyway! Robert Johnson got a better deal with the devil... Perhaps AFC could take a lesson regarding control of players social media. Don’t think they need to write posts for them like the hun are, but maybe a bit of policy regarding public interaction with opposition players accounts. Also don’t think I appreciated what an ugly gormless looking cunt he is/was, probably a good fit in reality.

Beaten too it...

Only time will tell if we are in a better state than we were last week. In the meantime we have something new to look forward too. My favourite bit from last night was the huns, on the McCrorie signing tweet from AFC, claiming that "unlike them our fans are full of hatred". Epidemiologists, really have to look into the possibility there has been a mass psychogenic illness event amongst that lot. Most likely brought on by them LETTING THEIR CLUB DIE.

More fuckin' huns

If Hibs end up getting more for a Scottish player with a half decent, half a training season than we get for an English player with two excellent real seasons, and, we sign anyone related to Colin Hendry, I’ll do what all the fans of rangers did and just go and support a new club. FUCK RIGHT OFF.
-
Has played for; Bristol City, Cheltenham Town, or both for added bonus points.
-
Good luck to Cossie. Probably perfectly suited to English Championship, sure he'll do well. Jones going to Sunderland as well as another former McInnes target, Stewart? Their signing for AFC in January 2022 will probably coincide with McGeouch returning from injury for a week. Really excited for that! Imagine if we'd realised the value for our players at any time other than during a pandemic...

Read on Twitter last night it was Nisbet. Could just have been someone heard “Brum in for SPFL striker” and went for him, though.
-
Liam Gordon a Don?
-
Aren’t Wigan in admin? Or financial difficulties with new owners being sought, at least? Maybe we are looking at a swap with a player on their books earning more than Ojo?
-
Wright's definitely better than Hagi. Fair play to him because I bet the huns are paying him a good wedge just because his Dad had a sweet left foot. Maybe Wrights decision is based on his injury record. If he went to england he'd be signing for a lower Championship team or promotion chasing L1 side on not as much money as the huns will be paying him, and he'd need a sustained run of games and form to get a move to a side paying as much as the huns will be. Maybe he thinks he won't manage that and will be quite happy getting £10k p/w (or whatever) to play every second Sunday for 60 minutes. I think if it had been a straight swap in the summer for McCrorie virtually no Aberdeen fans would have cared, and all the huns would have been raging. As it is he played himself in to a bit of form and because the huns are operating with huge yearly losses they are shopping for slightly better than average SPFL players for free or cheap transfers. Their fan base has also convinced themselves, in much the same way that they have convinced themselves their former club wasn't liquidated, that they're getting him for free and one over on us.
-
Apparently he's a Don, so very strange decision. Unless the new huns are so obsessed with us that they are the only team willing to pay way over the odds for a continuously injured player and he's willing to risk being sparked out at Perth races and/or made to cry at Soul for a few quid more per week. The only logical explanation as far as I can see, is that he and the rat are lovers. Covid has messed with their trysts and he figures the only way to rekindle their romance is signing for the huns.
-
I blame the parents. ? Highlights the appalling state of new hun finances. Can't even afford a few grand to prevent the psychological damage likely to be done to the lad. What with him having to worry about potentially being in a team with the rat in 6 months time. Hopefully Considine breaks his leg in his final training session, or even the Aberdeen lad that plays for hibs in the post-split game for 100% deniability, would be best for all concerned.

This is schoolboy stuff

The ones running the club should be well aware of the young promising players with allegiances to the tims or either version of the huns. It's understandable that talented young players want to maximise their earning potential. It's also understandable that those who have allegiances (and little ambition) will want to play for whichever. What is not understandable or acceptable; is Aberdeen being in a position where young & talented players, older & average (in the case of the rat) or just those that cause these teams problems on the pitch, are allowed to move to these clubs ,for free or as good as. They are in the same division, ideally we'd like to be challenging them for titles and cups, they already have huge financial advantages (however dodgy). They are also more than willing to spend a couple of million on foreign players, but never, it seems, on promising young Scottish players. As a juxtaposition consider the figures young English players command, a league where the teams with money aren't solely out to maintain their monopoly at the expense of any sporting competition whatsoever. The club must have links to organisations or individuals who can recommend these players to 2nd or 3rd division teams in England while they have at least a year left on their contracts. Losing players to the huns or the tims for fuck all will eventually damage the relationship between the club and fans.
