  1. Scrapping the away goal rule won't make teams attack, though. We'll end up with tactically negative dirge from both sides in both legs.
  2. The away goal rule makes 0-0 at home a good result.
  3. Off the top of my head David Millar, Maco Pantani, Jan Ulrich all tested postive during his 7 tour wins, but in an effort to provide more evidence I looked up doping cases in cycling. Seriously if you believe cyclists weren't tested, look it up. 10 - 20 a year were testing positive and/or being banned from '99 on (Armstrong's first win), including Armstrong himself in '99.
  4. It's called blood doping and has been illegal since 1986.
  5. How did Lance Armstrong get away with it for so long?
  6. I currently coach under 9's in englandshire. Next season is our last at 7-a-side and the following we go 9-a-side for a minimum of under 11 and under 12. Even from the point of view of the pitches and goals being slightly smaller than 11-a-side, the 9-a-side transition allows the players to grow into the full game much better than a straight transition from 7's. The guy who coaches with me has another team at (current) under 12. He has the option, next season (under 13), to play 9 or 11-a-side. The idea being it makes the transition that bit smoother again.
  7. Should we now expect signing news??
  8. Was the last time we qualified for a major tournament not when we were travelling round the country playing home fixtures? Agreed, although Dundee really would have to wait till we get drawn in a group with Romania...
  9. Joey Barton on Question time...
  10. Other boy looks a bit like Professor Green. http://www.afc.co.uk/javaImages/27/5a/0,,10284~12868135,00.jpg[/img]
  11. Hearing we (Aberdeen) have signed Scott Brown GK from Cheltenham. Pretty pleased with this. Good shot stopper in fact good all round keeper, only real criticism is he can be a bit quiet although that is perhaps a bit unfair. Maybe recommended by Hector...
  12. Think the worrying thing is that the "main" parties will now focus on trying to attract the votes of those whom, for some reason have felt obliged to drag their carcasses from their pits to, vote BNP ( I of course mean Farage). At the loss of those, pertaining regular or higher than average intelligence, who feel disenfranchised with the UK political process.
  13. Unbelievable. Forgetting that Pawlett was so far onside Stevie Wonder could have called it better. The ref then misses (or chooses to ignore) the foul on Langfield, Reynolds hand ball, and the subsequent foul on Reynolds, to allow the Motherwell goal to stand.
  14. Sad state of affairs when even someone like PAYATRADER or similar won't deal with them... The last part looks a little like an abridged version of director accounts and suggests they were penniless as of December 2013?? This is supposed to entice investors on the AIM?? Mental. Still those in charge will be entitled to season ticket money plus however many of the 43400000 £0.01 shares (max £434000) they can convince the mugs to buy before administrators are called in. Nice gig if you can get it...
  15. When was this first administration? Did I miss something?
  16. Fergie had been at Utd so long his and the methods of his staff (coaches and players) had/have become institutionalized. By getting rid of the existing coaching staff and implementing his own methods Moyes not only alienated the players he probably also confused them. If ever there was a case for succession planning, with the new manager working alongside the existing one it was there, however the personality required to "manage" a club like united would have no doubt led to conflict rendering that virtually impossible. If Moyes had been sensible he'd have cruised his first season. Kept Phelan et al, completed the signings already lined up. His ego wouldn't let him though. That said there are too many players there that are not good enough to form such a large part of a top side.
  17. Didn't Sevco fans claim they would boycott games against the Pikeys? So surely it will be 11-13k attendance for that Semi. What's that?? Folk with links to whichever incarnation of that club are less than true to their word ?
  18. Just back to hotel off George Square. Throat raw, nerves shredded, could barely stand for pens, but fucking ecstatic... Yasssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
  19. For me he doesn't touch the ball just takes the keeper out and even if he did get a touch, that was a secondary intention after clattering the keeper. If you jump into an outfield player anywhere on the park, it's a foul. Christ you take a rugby player out off the ground and it's a penalty. As far as the rest of your post I 100% agree. You see it in the english lower leagues with relative regularity, *cough* chesterfield *cough*. I think it's seen as an actual viable business plan, and this is how Sevco are administering it. Until there is proper deterrent, and in my opinion the only real deterrent is relegation in the season you enter administration, then the crooks will continue to play the system. The fact is the clubs and the football authorities in Scotland had the opportunity to improve the system for the better, but instead it remains set up to benefit only two clubs, one of which has less than 2 years of history, and it stinks to high heaven.
  20. New club same shit. At no other ground in no other game involving any version of any other team would that goal have stood. Utterly corrupt. Waiting on the 94th minute penalty now...
  21. Deeeee-lighted.
  22. Why would that make a difference? Personally I could not understand why keeping the pound was being proposed, as we would be subject to the BoE's interest rates. Which to my mind makes it Devo-Max, but I suppose Dave's thoughts make sense. The Irish had a currency union for 50 odd years following their independence. The Channel Islanders currently do. Proof within the British Isles that it can work and if you want the ultimate proof look at the Swiss and the Lichtensteiners. Certainly it makes sense in the short term, as it would have provided stability for trade and investment on both sides of the border. I can't help but think the move is so stupid that Salmond had not prepared for it. Really he should just have said not a problem, Pound Scots it is. These are all minor issues, really, in the grand scheme of things. Truly the only important question is "do you want to be in control of your own destiny?". It is interesting that the debate has moved on very quickly from the Scots would be too poor and too stupid to get themselves out of trouble to "we're going to make it as awkward as possible for you to make a success of it, and you will be too poor and too stupid to get yourselves out of trouble". I'm not sure if it's more or less patronising. As an aside, what happens to the value of the GBP if all Scotland's gilts are removed from the BoE especially if the largest percentage of future oil & gas revenue is removed at the same time?
  23. This. We've just deservedly knocked out the team the morons, who comment on our game, state are the best team in Scotland. A team that, arguably, we've had the better of in our previous two meetings. I'd say, employing the best Scots logic, that makes us the best team in Scotland. Lets face it there should be fuck all argument from anyone else within this isle IF we go on and win both these cups, and there is no reason we shouldn't.
  24. Don't be tempted to spit at the screen, but I followed this quine on twitter yesterday, nae sure why as she seems to be fae Northern Ireland and eveyrbody knows we hate folk fae Northern Ireland...
  25. He'll no doubt be asked to explain his comments...
