Jim Leighton re-appointed 'keeper coach
baggy89 replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
A couple of full backs will allow all the players in the defence to know exactly where they are playing, who they are playing with and partnerships to be formed. Hopefully this should allow confidence at the back to return which will, in turn, infect the rest of the team. At the minute they must be panicking every time they lose possession that we're about to concede. -
Derek Young fears Craig Brown Pittodrie cull
baggy89 replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
^^^What he said^^^ Deek Dung is never a top quality SPL player. I mind these boards when him and his conjoined (since separated) twin fucked off to Fife; the vitriol would have you believe he was a product of Van Basten's marginally deformed left bollock. Regardless. If everyone is honest he did more than hold his own against Bayern. Him, Mackie, Foster, Ifil, Duff (RIP) are not the worst players we have ever had. We, as Aberdonian's (or at least wannabe Aberdonian's) are bred to believe we are superior to any other cunt in the land of Ecosse. Hence we put on our own to be World beaters and berate them when they are not. If they pull on the red of Aberdeen they are Aberdeen, AFAIAC am concerned -

He'd probably just up and leaf, if we did. -

Wasn't Langfield dropped for Soutar because of a falling out with Calderwood at his stagger in Magaluf? and wasn't the falling out over a blocked move to Rangers? Neither of which can be attributed to poor form. -
Daily Express - Diamond to Charlton
baggy89 replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Aye funny how its made its way onto the main page of the BBC rumours section too. Zander's agent has obviously been working hard as I doubt his performances have even got him on the "radar" of Swindon Supermarine. -
Maybe worried their fans will come up with some more Paedophilia related chants about this management team.

Pa Broon & Archie - confirmed on 2.5 year deals
baggy89 replied to BigAl's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Do you not think it's likely that we may see a change of attitude from some players and thus a return to form. Especially Langfield if Leighton is coming back and I would have thought Diamond is likely to improve, from current form, as under Brown I can only see us becoming difficult to break down. -
Thirded. The only extra thing you have to do to register on a website where you are buying something is enter a password FFS.

21 ponies?

I don't believe he committed rape and sexual assaulted two women, for one second, as everyone knows anyone with the name Julian is blatantly a Bertie Woofter especially if they have shoulder length grey hair. What are the odds on him "committing suicide" while being held in a Swedish prison?

Maybe I'm giving Brown too much credit for what Taylor had created before him (+/- whatever Parkinson did) at Hull. I also couldn't give a fuck what he's like as a person if he's a cunt I'm fine with that, in fact I probably would prefer it if our manager was someone opposition fans hated. Granted he has made mistakes but hopefully he has learnt from them. On the positive side he's a big personality and reasonably high profile two things I think we could do with, he has pulled a club away from the relegation places before and got them performing way above their natural level. I'd also think he may command some kind of respect from some of our more vocal but mentally challenged players who will have seen him on match of the day and so assume he's some kind of footballing mastermind.

Definitely. Phil Brown would be taking a huge gamble with his career taking the Aberdeen job. Let's be honest it is only a matter of time before he walks into another Championship job where there will be more talented players than at Pittodrie, more money to spend than at Pittodrie, a more ambitious board than at Pittodrie and more positive press to be gained than at Pittodrie. So he either knows all about the club and out situation and has the personal belief that he can make a real difference. or He has no clue whatsoever and as soon as he finds out what sort of mess we are in as a club will distance himself very quickly.

Thing with Collins is we have a fair few Timothy's in our squad who would be of an age to have looked up to him as a player. Could work to our advantage, although equally we could have a Beckham & Hoddle situation. Pat Fenlon is a new name to the list that has to be worth more than a slight consideration. 5 LoI titles as manager in the last 7 years & 3 cups. The first LoI manager to take his team to the third qualifying round for the UEFA cup only knocked out by Deportivo.

EE: Hartley blasts Aberdeen FC team-mates
baggy89 replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility that it's Hartley who is the un-named player, but officially sanctioned mouthpiece, in this instance. To counter the equally un-named cohort and obviously less senior member of the squad who found out about the departure "on the internet". -
As BB (I think) hinted at a couple of days ago Miller seems very friendly with Hartley and Hartley seems a good captain and as such link to the players. Given the list of candidates being touted we could do a lot worse especially when you also consider Cooper and Simpson will know the younger players (who we are going to be relying on) better than anyone.

Eddie Howe would be the pick of the English lower league managers at the moment and has worked miracles with absolutely no money at all. He also knows how to create a defence out of one centre back so could surely do it with four. But they're in a play-off position for the Championship and Bournemouth is a hell of a long way from Aberdeen.

You know this sentence set something going in my mind, which didn't occur to me at the time. When McGhee took over he introduced the PUNISHMENT for cards or poor performances (I forget which) of doing "community service". Why was it a punishment to go visit sick kids at hospital or do some coaching at Airyhall Primary? Symptomatic of the negativity displayed at the beginning of this tenure, and something the new man has to avoid.

Although business class tickets to Vegas must be increasing in price this close to Christmas.

If those were the actual choices I'd stick with the guy I thought should have been brought in when Calderwood was punted, even if it would cost (even) more money and regardless of him being an ex-jute and ex-hun. McInnes. At the same time any one of those would be acceptable as far as I am concerned.

You do know what a manager does, don't you? There's a clue in the word manager
-
What a load of contradictory nonsense.
-
^^^^All of this^^^^ Shyte sketches intermingled with forced bits of stand up that I heard last week when watching his latest DVD.
-
Its great that we have a manager that knows how to treat the young players and get the most out of them.
-
Thing is unless you've been searching for penis, anal or vagina in safari or have someone called that in your phone book it won't know those words to attempt to predict them in the first place.

Where has McGhee been a miracle worker with a low budget? He couldn't get Wolves promoted with a budget that was bigger than Man United's at the time. Back when Calderwood was binned everyone who thought it was a bad idea asked the same question as you are here "Who would you want as manager?" and the answer from those who thought getting rid was a good idea was "That's not for us to decide it is the job of the board". At this time though we could bring back Alex Miller and Steve Paterson as co-managers and expect an improvement. The apparent lack of giving a shit from the boardroom, and the complete absence of morale, leadership or direction from the dressing room means the club is about as low as it can go. As for the financial aspect... and I've avoided the "Told You So" thread purposefully but what the fuck did you expect when you were calling, for a club in debt to the tune of £10 million, to sack a management team less than a year into a three year contract?
