  1. Obviously fluked into Europe due to other teams being so bad, purely papering over the cracks. JH&CBMG
  2. Wasn't Pawlett in the previous managers plans for last season and would have played more and got his debut sooner if it was not for injury?
  3. Ha! Ha! I was going to suggest that users of another forum may have suggested Lee Mair and Scott Severin.
  4. Aye I thought that was the main reason we had to have the ground in the middle of nowhere. A dream scenario was a scaled down Ricoh Arena esque design with indoor training facilities where the IEC part is on the Ricoh. The least I would have expected is a couple of dog shit strewn grass pitches!!
  5. I might be missing something but where are the training facilities?
  6. Fuck me they truly are trying to suck every single little bit of soul out of the club aren't they. The design for my new kitchen got me more excited than that. Shit football at an uninspiring ground we'll be lucky to get 21 folk along there never mind 21000. Please tell me it's nae real and someone knocked that up on google sketchup in 5 minutes this can't be the result of 15 years worth of planning.
  7. It could be a convenient excuse. I wonder if he'll still be stuck come Saturday?
  8. If the Fyvie rumour is true, how much power can one 16 year old have? We were lead to believe his opinion was a contributing factor in the last management team change, now we are hearing this team is going to be broken up on his prompting. If the Aluko rumour is true, what a difference a year makes. If both were to be true it would only highlight the shambles we are in.
  9. If he's only leaving now by car it'll need to be a fast car.
  10. As long as we have your assurances that next season isn't going to be transitional and the worst Aberdeen manager in history will drastically improve on his record, I'll sleep easy at night.
  11. Wasn't there some quoted interest from Kimpl in joining us and I think some quote from McGhee saying he was a good player but not someone he would be pursuing?
  12. I wasn't going to bother responding as I don't think the first comment is worth the time of day. The second comment though; Not one person said it would take a season to sort everything out, until it became obvious that things were not going to work out as well as was predicted, now that may have been as early as immediately after the sigma debacle but prior to that, it was all fantasy land stuff.
  13. mmmmmm potentially slightly libellous, I'd say.
  14. Dear Mr McGhee, No Dundee rejects please. Yours Sincerely baggy89 FBM
  15. I'm sure that is the case with Mulgrew, and that is indefensible, but for the young lads do you not think there's a bit of the dumped male teenage bravado about it; "I don't care, didn't like her any way the fat ugly cow"? Then multiply that if he was to find out all this birds mates were calling him ugly and a waste of space?
  16. It's harsh because it is quite obviously inconsistent with how other red carded players have been dealt with throughout the rest of the season. That, however, is completely irrelevant as even the mere mention of this will surely add to the dis-harmonious state of the squad and at this stage of the season is likely to not have been forgotten about come the start of pre-season.
  17. I think I read the thread Crawford is referring too, and it was full of posts "like enjoy stacking shelves at Tesco" etc... Now I'm not saying that those opinions are necessarily incorrect, but if your in your late teens and all your life you've been working towards becoming a professional footballer your going to be pretty upset... Then again if your foolish enough to think a chat site with more than it's fair share of morons is going to have written anything nice about you... The outrage on the hat now is amusing and the slagging of the young players is equally so. No sense of irony at all.
  18. Divisions in the dressing room, half the first team out of contract, and record fines for those that will be here next season for being in the frustrated position of giving a shit.
  19. Ifil was playing up until Danny Wilson took over. Wilson likes footballers all over the park, I always thought Ifil was a bit more of an "if in doubt hoof it out" type centre back, which is no bad thing. Isn't Gus Poyet manager at Brighton nowadays?
  20. It is, if only for bowing to the minor pressure from a few malcontents. Regardless. I don't agree that keeping McGhee will ease the divisions within the support. The fact is he is not fit for purpose, there is no other argument. However, as our board are incapable of making any type of decision other than a bad one, I'm expecting McGhee will be on the touchline at the start of the season and I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two transfer fee's paid in the summer. I can only hope that the Angus costumes label, is at this moment being marked MM by Mrs McGhee.
  21. I think you have to bear in mind that football in 1988 is so far removed from what it is today it might as well be a different sport. the extra grand a week that Charlie is talking about is probably equivalent to his highest wage as a player. Christ Doesn't Zander live on Rubislaw den? McLeish lived on Deeside Garden FFS. Anyway, I remember being in (I think) P5 when he signed and instantly deciding to support Arsenal (in England), going back to school and my best mate had done the same thing. I also remember there being folk in my class who didn't know and didn't believe we had signed him. Just for the record the supporting Arsenal thing only lasted a week or two.
  22. I heard there's a player just been released by Darlo that is definitely worth a look...
  23. What's wrong with that? When the odds are released for next season I doubt there will be many bookies who don't have Barnsley down as relegation candidates.
  24. True, get paid a lot for relegation scrap in championship, or get paid peanuts for relegation scrap in the SPL? At least in the Championship if he stands out and Barnsley get relegated he will get picked up by another Championship side offering even more money the following season.
