Seem to remember him playing for milwall against Chelt a good few seasons ago and not looking great. But the last ex OF full back we signed from a mediocre L1 side(by way of Wolves) turned out reasonable. So worth a crack till Xmas surely.

Is that Roberto?

Worst pretend drunk, ever.

Duff, Mackie, Young and Wright to leave?
baggy89 replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
In fact reading it again, I think it would seem to hint (quite blatantly) that it might not be the players fans are expecting ie. those mentioned at the top?? -

Yeah, that's probably what was in my head when I started typing. -

Is there any quote that links the players mentioned, to the quotes attributed to McGhee. Would it not be more likely that the likes of Kerr, Miller, Langfield etc will be offered around in the hope of raising a fee for them before their contracts run out? Freeing up a larger percentage of wages to be offered for pre-contracts or extra to be added to next years budget. After all "this is a transitional season and McGhee will do whatever is necessary to improve the fortunes of the club". -
I can't believe Mark McGhee is not giving youth a chance! (Just for minijc ) Is this the guy that only came back in the summer after being home sick? or Is it the guy who was, supposedly, fucking gash in the pre-season friendlies?

Anybody else watch the thing on BBC2 on Seve (the real one) with Peter Alliss. The best bit was about the Green jackets.

I got invited to one of these in Gloucester last year, place used to be a bowling alley. Can see why it is successful you could barely move between the tables and, kowalski, they seemed to do more chips than anything else. Not sure if you could call them good though! Not somewhere I'd choose to go and I don't think I could be described as fussy.

I wouldn't think we were the only club he ASKED to train with. Unless he saw our defensive problems as an opportunity to get playing again, at least till Christmas, and reckoned asking to train with us was a way in??
-
If true I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that his agent contacted all SPL clubs to see if any of them were interested in him, and we were (at least for a look see). Either that or he really likes the beach (in October (in Aberdeen)). I can't see any other links.

@ manc_don. I was inferring the OF give up some of their ill-gotten gains, in order for the league to become more competitive, and speculating that a more competitive league would increase revenue streams thus enabling the OF to recoup some of their earlier losses. BUT the thing holding that back is the OF themselves and their seemingly ruthless business model. Summed up in your final point.
-
I have in my head that gates used to be shared in the Premier Division? Is this still the case in the SPL? If not would going back to that (if it ever happened) not make up for the loss in revenue for the other teams? OK the OF would never vote for it, but would they need to for the rest to gain a majority? By that I mean; would Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs etc expect to loose too much to vote for it? Alternatively, would an equal split of TV money make up for the difference? I know both ideas will mean the OF giving up some of their unfairly large cut of the limited pot of SPL money, but this ruthless capitalist model that seems to be followed by both halves of the OF is what is killing Scottish football. That is why the TV revenue is low, sponsorship is low, competition is low (the OF's favopurite stick). For an outsider there are only two teams worth showing, for a yougster growing up there are only two teams worth supporting. You only have to look (where the better Scottish players look) to see what having a competitive league can do for TV and other revenue streams. * edit. I see most of my questions and points have been covered, should look at the posts that have been typed since I started my reply, sorry.

Probably for the best though as presumably with a few dissenting voices, unwilling to listen, it could have been a complete waste of time for everyone concerned. Maybe even just a few more faces and the speakers may have clammed up and become defensive. Agreed though it did sound positive, having had a quick scan of be ABMad thread.

Didn't realise Matty Lockwood was being allowed out on loan as well, better option than Maybury (but at left back). Although it's maybe not a priority position and he must be getting on a bit now.

If I remember right, I went on the tour of the factory, symbols like the Toucan were used to signify where a beer was from (i.e. going to) and also gave an indication as to how strong it was, back in the 1800's. Although it was 5 years or more ago and the missus stood sighing with her arms crossed the whole way round, so I may be making this up based on something I half read.

Here you go! http://www.thewineblokes.com/uk-wine-shop/guinness-foreign-extra-stout-24x-330ml-bottles-44341/

Isn't it Export or Foreign Extra or something thats 7.5%, I remember buying a couple bottles when I was over in Ireland a few years ago. Something to do with it continuing to ferment while it was on boats to Africa etc years ago and so it got stronger the further it travelled. Tastes more "stouty" (stronger coffee and fag butts taste, as the wife describes it). Not seen it over here, I don't think, but thats maybe because I've never looked for it. That's maybe why MBT described it as imported?

EE: Zander injury worry for Aberdeen FC
baggy89 replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
It's quite obvious Zander doesn't like McGhee and this injury is a convenient excuse to keep him free from injury till January, when he can sign for Celtic for £2 million (which will actully be 50p and threee bottles of bubble bath, with the rest based on appearances). Personally I blame the fat orange buffon and Willie's failed chip shop business. Just thought better put a smilie -
My main gripe with the Crabbie's was it's either too expensive or not strong enough. Lot of money for something that's going to take you a fair few of to get pissed, and no matter what argument anyone comes up with about sensible drinking, getting pissed is the only reason your going to drinking something that tastes just like non-alcoholic ginger beer.

That's a car, VAG group I'd say. Is this holiday/travelling been planned so you can take pictures of as many things as possible with rude looking names? If so is it being funded by sending the resulting pictures into the various ladz magz?
-
Maybe he can show them his wage slip, just to clarify that he doesn't earn £800 trillion p/h (or whatever the official* figure is up too nowadays). Also good that he has cleared up the "increase of £1million a year on the playing budget since I arrived" quote that gets bandied about (quite often in a comparison to other SPL clubs sense). I'm sure that may have been mentioned given it is quite obvious (if you are aware of unofficial Aberdeen fan sites) where the sources for that question and at least the previous two have come from. *AFCHAT "reliable" source figure.

Well, I'm not going to be yellow (finned) and change my tuna. Miller should snub the call up, forcing Burley to cast his net wider.
-
I'm sure the SFA will have organised some sort of sports therapist to devise some sort of stretching plan and exercises they can do in confined spaces but I can't see how that would ever make up for 2+ days training or complete rest for each leg of the journey. Stupid pointless trip made even more so for the likes of Miller and Wallace who weren't drafted in on merit merely because Burley's, in some cases second choice, picks have feigned injury. Injury only feigned for the very reasons I've posted previously. But these guys will feel under pressure to go knowing that a perceived snub now, will put their future international aspirations in jeopardy, and in that sense it is very similar to Aluko's situation.
