At least in the short term it is looking very much like a side ways step in terms of improvement, at best. It's not even as if McGhee was going anywhere else this summer and would still have been available next - at far less cost to the club. He would also have been able to bring in more of his own players and not been "left with Jimmy's dross".
-
I think what GD is getting at is that while we are in debt no one would want to invest in us, and needless management changes only serve to increase the debt and the time we are tied to Milne.
-
Could the CM's performances be put down to them "practising" 4-3-3 during the week, and for the start of the season, being forced to play that system on a Saturday?
-
How the hell will we get a result on Saturday? When all McGhee has is a handful of world beating youngsters, that McGhee matured at the right time and the awful squad that Calderwood left. Although I have sort of realised through my hatred for that orange hun prick, that I do sound a bit stupid still blaming him so I've decided to blame the board. In fact lets organise a protest, I cleared out my desk drawer the other day and found some post-it notes, so we're all set to go. SMMGATY£10MPDWY Catchy eh? It stands for Stewart Milne Must Go And Take Your £10 Million Pound Debt With You .
-
Just out of interst what position were Dungfermline ( the straw that broke the rhino's back), in last season when they hammered us 5-4 on penalties?
-
Wait for the apologists STILL blaming Jimmy.
-
Good boy Michael!
-
At least with McGhee we don't have to endure embarassing cup defeats, followed by embarassing excuses....
-
Why don't you see that nowadays? Surely not Animal cruelty laws, those Lions looked like they were loving it. After all, what could be more natural for a wild cat than riding side car, sideways, on a vertical wall? Minijc here is your chance to get on Dragons Den, I even have a patent for a lion side car for an Austin Metro, which I'd be willing to give away to you for... lets say £10k

Wright is surely going to be hungry when/if he gets fit. He must realise if he continues to do nothing while up here there won't be a league team in England that will touch him next season. He is in serious danger of becoming the forgotten man and if that isn't motivation enough to get back on the pitch and start scoring some goals then I don't know what is. Likewise if a fit and fired up Tommy Wright isn't enough to motivate Lee Miller... In a strange way Tommy Wright could be key to our season.
-
There are a few that can easily be explained eg. Someone has quite obviously invented a camera that allows you to capture hallucinations on film. However quite what's wrong with this dog... is surely beyond the realms of science as we know it.
-
I think you must be confusing this Aberdeen team with the one managed by jimmy calderwood
-
Here we go, it's minijc livening things up
-
Is it an injury or is it a fitness issue??? McGhee said it was an injury and that Sone was "limping". but With your insider knowledge I'm willing to take your word for it. It's no wonder Nigeria sent him home if Mcghee can't even get his players properly fit.
-
It makes such a difference when you have a great manager who knows how to deal with the press in a professional manner. Pity Sone will miss tomorrows game due to that injury he is carrying.
-
I can't beleive McGhee has let him away with this. It's another clear indication he has lost the dressing room. Kerr should be fined, docked wages, put up for transfer and sacked. No man is bigger than the club.
-
Awww! Someone deleted Slowclaps post. I was going to suggest Derek Young had perhaps found a use.
-
It was a joke, but having close family experience of how gloriously inept the club doctor (as a GP) is/was, it's not an altogether unsubstantiated joke.
-
Really? Are you swallowing the propaganda? I thought you were an intelligent bloke. Did well at Reading Couldn't motivate his Leicester side to avoid relegation despite taking over in November. Couldn't motivate is Wolves side, despite having a bigger budget than most of the Premier League at the time, to gain Promotion to the Premier League. Did well at Milwall. At Brighton he took over Coppell's side who had been going through the leagues due to the goal scoring exploits of Bobby Zamora, When they inevitable happened, Zamora and Coppell left. McGhee stepped in and replaced him with Leon Knight who seemed to fill the void and more, till they had a fight over tactics or cards on the bus home one day and McGhee made him get out and walk. Brighton dropped through the divisions. Motherwell did well in his first season when there was something to motivate the players with, second less so... I see no conclusive proof that McGhee is an excellent man manager and if you are suggesting that the players are that hurt at Calderwoods sacking it not only makes a mockery of those same propagandists arguments for wanting rid of Jimmy ("He's lost the dressing room" was seen more than once on these forums). It also makes a mockery of your claims that McGhee is an excellent man manager. These guys are football players, Aluko at 19 has already worked under 5 different managers Bruce, Calderwood, McLeish, Grayson and now McGhee, they know the name of the game and do adapt. Even the handling of the situation (through the press) seems inept at best.
-
I can only assume McGhee has never met our medical staff, and seen their handiwork, if he thinks Sone would be better off being assessed by them. Sone has probably thought "I've seen what a mess these clowns made of Jamie Smith, there's no way I want to be playing out the rest of my career for a backwater MLS team. I'll go off to the Nigeria training camp and hopefully there will be a witchdoctor who can use some juju on me that's bound to be more effective than anything the Aberdeen medical staff can do"
-
Do we get a trophy and an open top bus parade for this mystical seventh place you speak of?
-
The only thing typical here, is your comments.
-
Aye went to add to my post almost immeditely but... Fucking phone! Aluko, Pawlett, and Maguire definitley made the difference. Probably if they had started 4-3-3 may have worked, although I do tend to agree with the Jimmy haters as far as Aberdeen suiting a 4-4-2. Disapointing result but I do kind of understand McGhee's in three years time comments. If we can keep these young lads; signed up, motivated, constantly improving we will have some side.
-
Players eventually worked out how to play Falkirk, pity it took 90 minutes. Fair play the woodwork and Olisnik kept them in it but why the fuck weren't we running at them for the whole game instead of just the last three minutes.
-
Pretty even at halftime although we look slightly stronger at the back. Odd having the ESPN logo at the top of the screen but coverage seems to be a million miles from shitanta, and that's just the picture.
