Mark McGhee: It's time for Aberdeen kids to grab their chance
baggy89 replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
How long before McGhee uses the word sloppy in a post match interview, while blaming Considine for the tea lady putting two sugars in his tea instead of his usual three. -
I'm certainly pleased we've signed Sandy Clark Colin Meldrum. That Dietician qualification will come in handy. Presumably he can come up with a diet for all the players to counteract 12 pints a couple of flaming sambucas and a doner kebab of a Saturday night and that fitness coach certificate will certainly help in getting all the professional sportsmen fit enough to play professional sport.

You can view it in English too http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/verein/370/aberdeen-fc/uebersicht/startseite.html

Maybe the "special" lessons he's going to get from McGhee will be what he needs to apply himself.

The point I was trying to make was that this "shouldn't" have been taken well by the reactionaries that wanted Calderwood out. The under promise over deliver was one of the reasons folk disliked Calderwood, or at least was one of the excuses given for wanting that fat orange hun prick out . However once it was brought up by (sorry, came to me too late, Kowalski) on the Hat it is evidently just another stick to beat Calderwood with. As for McGhee's chatter to the press, I wouldn't want him to stop otherwise what else are we going to talk about till the next transfer window, and as I've said before all these soundbites coming from Pittodrie seem very similar to the ones trotted out by Calderwood in the past.

So, as that was the team that finished fourth and they are all reaching their prime footballing years (for the most part the next three years will be their prime), was Mark McGhee correct in saying that That team should be (and would have been) competitive in challenging for third spot THIS year, NEXT year and the year after that, to state otherwise is crap.
-
Comments like it's going to take three years (ie replace the whole team) to get third is hardly going to give the current team confidence, is it? What great man management skills!! He probably learned that from Jack Hayward when he was at Wolves "If this team makes the Premiership I will buy a whole new squad"
-
Aye a team that had finished second bottom, not fourth the previous season! Wonder what they are making of this on other forums. Jimmy would have been strung up by his balls for this utterance. Lack of ambition etc etc ...

Willie Miller on Closure of Transfer Window
baggy89 replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
To be fair while I would have liked to see another new face, presumably the types of players we were able to attract/afford would not have been a "marquee" signing. Therefore, as Willie says, with the likes of Fyvie, Crawford, Patton and Pawlett breaking through in the last few months another average signing would only serve to limit their time on the pitch. Thus hampering their development, something that Jimmy was lambasted for doing. In a way it is a positive move from the club. -
It's OK lads, as the retarded minority who were so keen to shout, at any given opportunity, towards the end of last season "Any idiot could have got a cup win and have third sealed up by Christmas with the same squad Jimmy had". With the God that is Mark McGhee at the helm we'll have the SPL title sorted by XMAS. Giving us 2010 to put all our efforts into winning the Scottish Cup. Stand Free...
-
Yeah, disappointing really, surely McGhee could have at least found us some Dutch amateurs.
-
Williamson to Pompey fae Watford, Diamond to Watford freeing up wages for our new signing??
-
I'd doubt anything is going to happen now TBF. Maybe we'll see a couple of out of contract players in the next few days. Did I also read we can make use of the emergency loan system? If so I suppose the possibility of someone like Steve McLean on a 3 month loan wouldn't be out of the question.
-
Well, 45 minutes left. I suppose the likelihood is that one of our assets is leaving. If it was simply the case of bringing someone in, surely that would have been concluded by now??
-
Ifil Grassi A couple of bonus balls still to come in? Is this the quietest summer transfer window for us, ever? Even the wild speculation and rumours have been few and far between . Its not the same when you have to resort to coming up with realistic but interesting signing targets yourself. Surely someone someone's little sisters, best mate, once fed, Scott Leitch's, ex-wife's, brother inlaw's, grannies, cousins Tropical fish and has heard that we are signing Romario as he heard he could easily score another 1000 professional goals in the SPL, what with big Lee Milleroh's deft flick ons.
-
I can confirm that the "missing" Lawnmower mannie is none other than Derek Young, who was getting in some much needed green-keeping practice, as he is being swapped for free membership passes for Willie and Wiggy at the Hazelhead pitch and put.
-
Wonder what it could be about?? Binge Drinking?? "12 pints and a donner kebab" me?? Certainly got the right group of individuals at AFC if it is .

EE: McGhee sets Aberdeen FC 50-goal target
baggy89 replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Are we sure that this whole sacking JC thing wasn't a ruse and he has actually just had some serious lipo over the summer?? These episodes of Deja Vous are getting stronger and stronger. -
P&J: Young Dons may need 18 months before they are regulars
baggy89 replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
What?? But these players are a symbol of the malaise down Pittodrie way and every other person in the entire world can see they are not good enough for AFC,apart from JC (and that's only because they have pictures of Charlie Allen bumming him). Next McGhee will be revealing transfer targets to the press so others can nip in in front of us, telling us that Premiership youngsters and Championship players are on thousands of pounds more a week more than we can afford and bigging up the Old Firm... -
I'm a bit concerned about the level of player we are looking at, if Dung is to be a part of any deal to bring them here. I'm not saying that aren't gems plying their trade in the North Caledonian Football League but surely the step up in level to the SPL will be too great for them to make an immediate impact.

I'm guessing this quote can be attributed to a certain London based administrator on another message board?? -

Concerning. I'm with Azteca on this one. I supose after yesterdays result it would be too far fetched, to suggest, that there may have been attempt to "hide" this? -
What's with the typing in camp, now?
