We're after two or three of these, I hear. Michael Fraser Paul Quinn Steven Hammell Mark Reynolds Stephen Craigan John Sutton Darren Smith Keith Lasley Jamie Murphy Marc Fitzpatrick Jim O'Brien Steven McGarry Graeme Smith Stephen Hughes Robert McHugh Brian McLean Also Big Martin (Dhalin), who McGhee knows from his time in Sweden with IK Brage, has put us in touch with several Swedish amateurs who are coming in on trial (where they'll "be flying" no doubt).

NO! I AM SLYFOX!

Fuck coaching if we could get 10 games out of him next season he'd be our top scorer.

I appreciate Miller has improved as a player in the last few years but I would be surprised if Championship sides were lining up for his signature next season, given he has already failed at L1 level in England. But lets face it with a year left on his contract and only six months till he can sign a pre-contract elsewhere can you see the club turning down anything over £1million, or in all honesty £750000?

Don't agree, there are loads of lower league clubs whose business model is; spend beyond your means, establish yourself in the league or leagues above, achieve safety, go into administration, take your deductions, start again. In reality out-with the Prem and to an extent the Championship (which IMO is a false economy) there is not a lot of money available and it will only get worse as more money is gobbled up by the "big" clubs. Don't be fooled by what clubs are spending, it's very rarely in relation to what they can afford! At Cheltenham we have an above mid-table (for L2) attendance have a chairman who is pretty canny with the spending and in our last promotion season (*which included a home FA cup tie against Newcastle and and away Coca Cola cup tie away against Sunderland) we still posted a loss (covered by the directors).

In Englandshire the youth coach, provided he has the correct qualification, has his wages paid from an FA grant in an effort to encourage all clubs to maintain a youth team, is there something similar in Scotland? What was this SPL TV thing that was mooted previously, perhaps this could be resurrected as a replacement. If it was a two channel subscription service. The OF could continue, during the normal day, to have their TV channels, or perhaps share a channel and the other show "classic" SPL games and/or SFL games or highlights. On a match day one channel could have the OF away game and the other could have the pick of the rest. With a comprehensive highlights package sold to a terrestrial station on the basis of it being shown on a Sunday afternoon/early evening. Perhaps get into bed with Sky for use of HD broadcast facilities. Europa league rights automatically going to SPL TV for games involving Scottish Clubs. I know nothing about sports broadcasting but I'd pay for something like that and if it was done well I see no reason why it couldn't be grown to take over other rights packages and instead of it lining others pockets it could end up making the SPL money which in turn could be invested back into the Scottish game. I'm sure it's not as easy as that but anything worthwhile never is.

I'd have probably made the effort for this one, even though Cheltenham are playing at Weston the day before which would be a day of heavy drinking. I can't go to either though as I'll be in Ireland getting married on the Friday. Wonder if I could pass the two trips off as a honeymoon taking in shitey English Towns built on estuaries??

Transfer targets and a re-signing Jamie Smith?
baggy89 replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I can't help thinking Smiths injury problems will end up being sorted by some random cure, like tying a bit of string round his left pinky. But even if his injuries are sorted I can't help thinking his performances are a bit hot and cold anyway, so even on pay as you play it would have to be on reduced terms. -
If we're going 4-3-3 there is surely enough strength in depth up front with Paton, Pawlett, Maguire, Aluko, Mackie, Miller and Tommy No Guns. Definitely need at least one CB and one CM. It will be interesting to see what a difference a new manager will make to Considine's confidence, what McGhee thinks of Ricky Foster and where he should play, and if any of the other youngsters are good enough to make the step up this season. What was the Irish lads name, that we brought in last summer? Comments about players with only one season left on their contracts are interesting, could it be that they may be given deadlines to sign extensions or be put up for transfer to generate funds for replacements now? Surely be more beneficial to McGhee if he knows he hasn't got to replace the players he would want to keep as well as the players he doesn't want to keep next season (or in other words, everyone).

Things McGhee needs to do to win over the Red Army
baggy89 replied to Reekie_Red's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Think this post sums up this entire thread. We all want what is best for the club and if that means having a manager that everyone can get behind then THAT is the best thing for the club. MMG.I.G. -
Jutes just signed this guy http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/dundee_utd/8097182.stm Really this guy is probably the biggest fanny I have ever seen play. If this is what Harry Potter considers decent, thank Christ we've got MMcG. Jimmy could have bought 30 Dutch Prozzies fae Old Amsterdam with more balls in their G-strings than that faggot.

Nah! "HERE" is just the one place they haven't been shooting for the last five years or so, so should be easy enough to find as long a MMcG gets the dusters in .

What Can We Pontificate About Now?

I checked back and I definitely put some smiley mannies in so everyone knew that I was just codding. -
The PFA have released their list of players currently out of Contract or without a club, I assume these players are looking for a club. There is over 500 names on there. I've scanned through 30 pages, there are some interesting names on there. Here's the link: http://www.givemefootball.com/pfa-transfer-list However I did find one that is surely fate, on page 30, released by Bristol City afetr being on loan to Stafford Ranger where he'll have been coached by Stevie Bull, and with that name... http://www.givemefootball.com/transfer-details?player=41716&playerID=8705 Fuck "worth a look", Sign him UP!!!!!

The Brighton Fan's are usually quite witty, they have to be. Not much too that one, but have to agree it works. Well, it made me smile anyway.

I get fucked off when the folk who work for me text in sick, I find it hilarious on the odd occasion where someone texts in asking for a job, but I feel much better now knowing that Celtic Football Club text people to let them know they're not going to be manager. Hopefully McGhee sends Derek Young a text now telling him not to bother coming back from his holidays this year. And another to all the strikers saying "The goal is over HERE!"

Fuck sake has Mark McGhee not got more imagination than that? Surely we can do better than Motherwell rejects. -
Is it Thursday already??
-
Do you get cut off immediately?? I was only waiting on the Haye v Klitschko fight before cancelling anyway
-
Whether we hated Jimmy for being a fat orange hun prick is irrelevant I feel. What is important here is that we all hate Derek Young for being a crap footballing, shite speaking, Jimmy bumming, Chinese Cunt.

Didn't several people try to sue Dan Brown for plagiarism when The Da Vinci Code first became famous. I've never read it but a mate of mine, who reads far too many books to be considered normal, described it as formulaic, tired American pish that could have been written by anyone following a "how to write a novel" guide. I think the fact that every chapter was a set number of pages really got on his tits as well. Safe to say he didn't like it and that is probably one of the reasons I've never bothered to pick up a copy.

The latest email I received from Setanta (the ones with upcoming sporting events etc.) actually came form ESPN America.
