  1. A bottling performance by Cech of almost Langfield proportions, so far...
  2. Here's my thought for the day. The views of internet Aberdeen fans are cyclical... Start pre-season with great hope. Talking up chances of some silverware, slagging off some signings bigging up others. Then, after the first few games, disillusionment. "We're shite, the signing that had been slagged off is worse/better than expected, the bigged up signing is pish, Seve is a crap captain Foster is not a footballer, Mackie couldnt hit a barn door with a cows arse". A few more disappointing results. "Jimmy is crap why does he mess with the formation,Seve is a crap captain Foster is not a footballer, Mackie couldnt hit a barn door with a cows arse" Some excellent results, positivity returns. Couple of decent wins see us back where we should be 3rd/4th. "We're on our way to Europe, can see us beginning to challenge Old Firm again but still, Seve is a crap captain Foster is not a footballer, Mackie couldnt hit a barn door with a cows arse" Run of games maintaining this position, fan's get bored but not of saying "Seve is a crap captain Foster is not a footballer, Mackie couldnt hit a barn door with a cows arse". One very bad result/couple of quite bad results. "Sack Jimmy he's a crap orange balloon from Glasgow and Seve is a crap captain Foster is not a footballer, Mackie couldnt hit a barn door with a cows arse" Cue holidays, time to reflect on Seve being a crap captain Foster not being a footballer, Mackie being unable to hit a barn door with a cows arse, before the same cycle occurs again. I wonder if David Attenborough would be interested in a documentary about it? Plenty of sub-stories like the unexplained aggression of the average afc-hatter, or the strange feeding habits of the lesser(how could you nae) spotted Minijc.
  3. Don't blame them I'd have been embarrassed too.
  4. I think Stoney may need to brush up on his counting skills. 47 you counted? Fear not I have a handy link. http://www.thebigplus.com/bigplus/CCC_FirstPage.jsp
  5. Add to that, it's fairly common knowledge that a lot of English clubs (lower divisions) are feeling the pinch and this summer will see the largest ever number of free agents available. Dare I say the first year since the Bosman ruling came into effect where the football clubs are in the stronger position?
  6. Fair play to you lot, I now feel that I understand their cause a little better (everything is spelled correctly using good grammar ).
  7. Now, now! One thing you can't argue with is Jimmy's abilities to get the results that matter in Europe.
  8. Aye, once we pay off Jimmy circa £350k (rough estimate?), buy Mark McGhee out of his Well contract £200k (real guestimate) we'll be far better off financially. Still at least McGhee can maintain challenges to teams above him with larger playing budgets, oh wait...
  9. I would assume that if Eoin is talking to the EE it was a very minor stroke. A quick look reveals nothing on the official Forest site so fingers crossed...
  10. Did you learn nothing from your EE experience? TBF it looks like the Record guy has been pretty fair. I assume whoever is reporting on the game on Saturday will have a look round after. So for your sake I hope that a fair number turn up, otherwise I'd expect a hard time on Monday. You have to be pretty sharp to deal with the media, much easier to be a journalist than to deal with them. They're paid to take a viewpoint and destroy any argument to the contrary. Fair play for having go, it's just I can see it ending in some extremely red faces come Monday morning. I can't help think that these articles have done your cause more harm than good as people try to distance themselves from what is potentially an extremely embarrassing situation for the majority of the Aberdeen support.
  11. Oh yeah! Rings a bell.
  12. Is this the guy that was supposed to join our Dutch jollies last year?
  13. Yeah suppose. What I was really thinking was these two guys, I think, are excellent coaches and motivational man managers. All they would need to do a good job up here would be someone who knows Scottish football and more importantly Aberdeen Football Club inside out. I know it's a cliche but Aberdeen is a bit of a goldfish bowl, as is being proved.
  14. Seeing that the hatters will have driven Jimmy oot by 4:46pm GMT on Saturday... I've been thinking (although I'm sure I've said/typed this before) I'd quite like to see Steve Cotterill or Russell Slade with a someone who knows the Scottish game (Jimmy Nic maybe) as co-manager or as assistant.
  15. I don't know I think Jimmy has proved (and knows himself) he's taken us as far as he can. I'm not sure though if getting rid is the best thing to do UNLESS, we can get someone in who has that spark, something that would make me think he could do better. I'm not sure any of the usual suspests, who have been brought up every time on these forums since Alec Miller was punted, are the answer. Then again we've had "out of the box" appointments before, and the majority think that Ebbe didn't work. For that reason I've put Europe, although I wouldn't be disspointed if Jimmy was punted or walked (never gonna happen) at the end of the season.
  16. I've heard he might be the subjest of the thread "Worried" and is a friend of MILLERTIME? then again... I've also heard he tired of the sound of his own typing and blew his brains out wth a karcher pressure washer?
  17. I heard Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona, Chelsea, and Man Utd have all been in contact with the Fyvies. Oh and the Irish FA have also been round with 12 sacks of tatties offering to tarmac their drive if he pledges his international future to them. April Fools! (Well apart from the Irish FA bit ) Seriously though hope this lad signs on and gets his chance, having a new Jess* come through would be a huge boost for the support. *fingers crossed, no pressure
  18. Bring back Ebbe!
  19. Hibs to make a bid for Darren Mackie during the summer. If this one is true and they bid ACTUAL money and we accept it, it would rank on the exact opposite end of the scale as £800k for Brian O'Neil.
  20. 6. Sven Baas, Thorarinn Kristjansson, Bill and Ben Paatelainen, Special Bus, Jamie "extra padding for" Winter, Dan Smith, Lubomir Blaha, Jon Smith, Jon Kurrant, Tommy Wright, Dung, Bertie Bossu.
  21. 6. Aberdeen 3 - Rangers 2, 1st August 2005. You right, 14th. That'll teach me for believing the first google result to be gospel Personally I blame JC for my poor google search skills (and Ricky Foster).
  22. 3. Queen of the South FOUR - Aberdeen THREE
  23. What you talking about? Getting gubbed 4-1 by Scumdee and 4-3 by QoS rank up there as two of the high points in my time supporting Aberdeen. Those along with destroying the mighty Falkirk 2-1 to "win" a place in the top six last April.
