  1. I agree the location isn't great but there are other ways to get the pub ticking over, for example there's talk of artificial pitches being built also so you could probably have a couple of sunday league teams playing out of there, sponsor them, get a darts/pool team set up, host monthly meet the manager time things and as you say every second saturday the place would probably be snowed out before and after the game. I don't know if there's much money to be made but lets hope so!
  2. He's also out of contract so suits our "budget". He's a left midfielder.
  3. Plays for Morton, we have had him watched a lot and Miller went to watch him a month ago - well went to watch Morton anyway. Most Morton fans seem to think he's the only player worth watching hence the rumour but with us it could be any cant.
  4. Fairly sure the business plans included plans for hotels/houses/business units and other facilities.
  5. Defo a new home top, think we're getting a new sponsor?
  6. Its been sent to all supporter club representatives, my mate who runs Capital 1903 seemed to think there would be a series of meetings that week, I think more invite will be issued to shareholders/season ticket holders. Not sure if it answers the question of funding but we get to see what it's going to look like and pose questions to AFC about the stadium design/funding etc. Worth a view.
  7. If your serious i'll put your name down, think nearer the time it'll be open invite to be honest.
  8. Anyone else got an invite? Doubt i'll be able to make it. Its on Thursday 13th May at Pittodrie, 5pm onwards to showcase the new stadium.
  9. Makes sense to me, its similar to what I was saying yesterday it makes no sense to sign 10 mediocre squad players, we just have to chance it and hope we avoid injuries and that there is enough youngsters to fill the gaps. Kyle and MacLean should be a reasonable combination.
  10. I agree to an extent, but only in that these stories never seem to hold any substance and its all about context. Dodds may have been a hun but I feel he had a lot of respect for the Aberdeen fans. I don't really give a fk if he tried to wind up/banter with some weegie and I don't think he'd have given the same answer in an Aberdeen bar. What other stories is there? Only ex Dons player I have ever seen was McDougall propping up his own bar at lunch time, if I wasn't so pissed myself I would have felt a bit sorry for him to be in that state.
  11. And after he played with ourselves, Utd and rangers with a degree of distinction, what was your thoughts then?
  12. Previously i'd have argued, not least because its always freezing in Aberdeen with that North Sea wind. That said I think we'd get increased TV sums as SKY are desperate for a league to cover in profile and that would hopefully attract better players. So I would say give summer football a go in the current structure. I feel the same boredom as most other folk on here but I don't think seeing Morton for example come to Pittodrie to play the same way as Falkirk did last week would make me any more excited about the game. Also there's the extra worry if we only play rangers at ibrox once a year are we ever going to fucking win there.
  13. And what were the aspirations of our last manager exactly?
  14. Try it for one season then do what? Relegate up to 6 clubs in one season when it shows scotland can't support a top league of 18?
  15. I don't think he had a point at all, there's no danger we'd get more money from playing teams like Morton etc instead of 4 old firm games.
  16. Yeah, I wasn't really looking at it from a legal perspective more about the consequences of where i'd end up starting that early.
  17. Might give you a phone, not sure I can watch the team sober?
  18. Dodds is nowhere near the same quality as Shearer although Booth after his injuries wasn't as effective as he was when he first came into the team, great natural ability. That said Dodds was a good striker for Aberdeen overall, he took a long time to settle from what I can remember but he had the ability to be a great Aberdeen striker under the right coach. Once he saved us from relegation at Tynecastle with a brilliant performance he became a much better Aberdeen player. I was gutted when he left and more so that we got ripped off to feck by Dundee Utd, Dodds later was brilliant there and got a move to rangers whilst we were stuck with an expensive flop. That said I remember at the time thinking Dodds/Winters would have been a great partnership.
  19. Good post; that said I feel personally we should be looking at having a crux of 14-16 good players interchangable with suspensions/injuries then having youngsters to cover any injuries. We'd have to be pretty fortunate with injuries to be successful but if we were it would be a lot more enjoyable as a fan than having to watch duff/grassi/mackie.
  20. I don't see any suggestion of a free transfer there, manager appears to be saying he's heard that the players want to leave and he's happy for that to happen if they don't want to come back.
  21. Aberdeen, I don't doubt that we aspire to be successful as a club I just don't think we're going the right way about doing it!
  22. How can a club with any aspirations of success accept that 50% of the boys game are going to be inept and at best solid?
  23. Strange statement but he contradicts the comment with the last two sentences of the article.
