  1. I'm with Jager on this one, Sigma home maybe good numbers but no backing, away from home fans turned on team (quite rightly) within about 20 minutes, again numbers were ok over there but nothing special. Raith support was a joke and the replay even worse, fans did not back the team at all as has been the case on a lot of occasions this season.
  2. When, 2000? Supports been woeful this season both in terms of numbers and noise.
  3. So what would you like him to do once he's grown these balls? What realistically could he do differently at the current time other than throw in the youth team on masse?
  4. Another interesting aspect is the most popular players tend to be youngsters and some who haven't even played a game for us. It also shows that we're really reliant on the youngsters making the grade. I think McGhee is right that we need 10 new players!
  5. You know it won't happen though! Especially Miller.
  6. Did McGhee ever expand on what areas he felt he wasn't culpable?
  7. Hi to all, As we are all aware Saturday marks a huge game in Aberdeen FC season and the club are encouraging the fans to back the team by offering free tickets for season ticket holders to give to non season ticket holding Aberdeen supporters in a bid to boost the attendance. A group of Aberdeen supporters will congregate in Section X possibly extending to Y of the South Stand to display vocal support to the team on Saturday. The club has also approved that there will also be some red and white chequered flags on display before the game - that won't be used during play. We would like to invite all who are taking advantage of the free ticket offer to congregate in the above areas on Saturday to support the team. I'm sure wherever folk may be on Saturday they will back the club but we hope by everyone congregating in this area that it will help boost the noise created and show support for the club that we all love irrespective of our individual views on players/manager/directors/Angus The Bull. Stand free
  8. I agree, I think the club are just saying that as they don't seriously think we'll be brought into a relegation scrap.
  9. You tempted fate there!
  10. “I feel for Mark as I know how tough it is. When I returned to Pittodrie with Steve Paterson we were in a similar situation of needing to reduce the budget, but our problems were self-inflicted." Interesting quote. Anyway a lot of good albeit obvious points from one of the best strikers I have ever seen. I think its a disgrace Mark Kerr is club captain who refuses to sign a new contract.
  11. I shocked myself by picking 12.
  12. If only we knew someone in the building trade who could give our new signings good deals on new houses.
  13. To be fair that's because you are negative as feck - not saying your not entitled to be negative but 100% of all your posts are negative, even about going to a game so you won't allow anything he says to influence you in a positive way. For me it was the opposite, its clear he doesn't know what to expect on Saturday but what we'll see is a team prepared to battle for the badge on Saturday. After that i'm not totally sure he knows where the club is going but I am just going to support the team on Saturday and allow myself to be positive because the opposite is another week of feeling pissed off whenever I think about AFC and that's no existence.
  14. Free entry if you go with someone who has a season ticket http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20100412/calling-all-soldiers-of-the-red-army_2212158_2022446
  15. Looking at the fixtures/results I think the disappointing aspect of it was two defeats to Morton and a couple of other bizarre defeats. We did beat Motherwell 8-0 the same season
  16. On another note you'd assume McGhee's job is safe as he (Miller) always said he felt he would have kept Aberdeen up in 1995 and that the board acted to soon in sacking him.
  17. Willie Miller would, thats what happened previously when Burkinshaw was Director Of Football?
  18. He's tried it all mate, he's blasted them, defended them, now he's just trying to cajole one last win out of them! Its obvious they don't want to play for Aberdeen anymore and are not bothered if they take him down with them. That said with the exception of Mulgrew who other teams will probably rate where do the other out of contract players think they are going? You were part of the Adeen squad bombed out of the cup by two lower league teams and finished 9th-12th. Yeah here's a 3 year deal? I seriously think some players are deluded if they think they'll get deals elsewhere.
  19. I think a lot of us thought McGhee was a good appointment, not everyone. Where as I would say everyone thought Miller was a bad appointment and nobody wanted him in the first place. He also sold Dodds/bought Winters in one of the worst transfer deals in recent history!
  20. Notice a similar poll on AFC Chat is showing a 60/40 split in favour of the current manager and thought it would be interesting to see what the DonsTalk members thought?
  21. Think Derby have kept 4 clean sheets in 6 games Anderson has played! Great player and glad his knee is holding out.
  22. It was only a reference to Ifil/Nelson and Grassi I think. The latter rumoured to be on £500 a week.
  23. Willie Miller in today's EE advising McGhee job is safe and not under any pressure from the board.
  24. Well your saying its a myth but what evidence is there to support it being a myth? I am sure I read an interview where the above was what was quoted, either way its the truth or a blatant lie.
