I don't think we're in a relegation battle regardless what happens this Saturday. What I am looking for is a victory to get us back involved in chasing a Europa League spot

To be fair the Europa League qualification looks like stretching to 5th place so he's not far wrong that there is still something to play for. As for not seeing it coming I assume he was at the first game? Whilst I was confident of victory I wasn't surprised at the same time to see the team surrender so readily. I am hopeful that a lot of what he is saying is just to be seen to be saying the right things as quite frankly if he thinks the players/depth of the squad is good just now we're totally fucked in advance for next season.

The budget this year was a lot lower than last. We've got a new stadium to fund and two massive cup defeats, three if you include Sigma, which have cost the club a packet of money. All I can see is a reduction in budget again and the hopelessness of it all just overwhelms me.

Aluko to me doesn't give a fuck about playing for Aberdeen, he's one of the few who can be excluded from Mark McGhee's big game only syndrome as Aluko is even worse in big games than he is against lower teams. I want to back him because when he was on loan here originally he had so much to offer but you could see there was a rawness in his game. All I can see now is a player who's indulging to much in lifes other offerings to grasp the chance of being a star, shame.

Aluko has been fairly piss poor for yonks, don't think lack of fitness has anything to do with it.

I can't see many non season ticket holders paying to attend the rest of the season, there will be a few folk who won't even bother going with their season ticket and pass them on to mates to use. I reckon the Hearts crowd will be under 8,000 as its also on ESPN.

Langfield is having a very poor season for me, he's making to many errors then pulling of a cracking save now and again to cover it up.

If you seen SSN McGhee has changed his comment to say he may have been spat at, even he doesn't know.

I agree totally, apart from anything else we only scraped into Europe last season on the last day of the season via the league. Losing to Queens Park, Dunfermline, Queen Of The South, hopeless surrender against Hibs/Dundee Utd, it was to much, if folk can't see why JC cup record was unacceptable then there is not a lot else that can be said.

I think your right although I think there is clearly ambition from the board to win a cup hence JC being sacked, they knew he wasn't going to win us feck all and wanted more. Nothing wrong with that but surely at some point someone thought we might need to back this new manager up with money? Seemingly not

Whilst I doubt anything constructive will come of this thread at least it gives us a forum to voice some anger where as on other sites we'd have been shouted down by now for having the cheek to slate yet another piss poor season.

Good post BB and agree entirely. There is no future in this, are we to become the club version of the tartan army and just go for the piss up and not even expect anything any longer? We've a £20M shortfall on a new stadium so that tells me we're a club going fkn nowhere off the park and we sure as hell aren't going anywhere on it.

I haven't got a clue what folk are on about sandwiches for however Jimmy had taken the club as far as he could with the resources available and the club was stale. That said if he'd given JC £600,000 to spend on players I am fairly sure JC could have taken the club further. As for McGhee his cup record was fairly poor before he came to AFC I think? The AGM minutes state that primary reason for removing JC was the poor records in the cup so why would you waste money on someone who also has a poor record - seems bizarre to me. I don't see what anyone can do without fresh investment in AFC, people say we shouldn't spend money and if that's the case we might as well all fk off to Subway forum and discuss sandwiches and what we can fill them with as we're not going to achieve fuck all on the park.

Gutted. We were awful, I would say it was one of the most inept performances I can remember and there has been a lot.
