  1. Sounds like a date to me.
  2. No need to split hairs. I've already decided I'm coming over Happy Birthday to the wee fell btw
  3. Remember who got you a ticket for Munich when the cup final comes around.
  4. So Billy Dodds (AKA coo's erse banjo) was aiming for the stands all that time? Makes sense now.
  5. I'm really quite drunk and listening to the new record by Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid.
  6. Jimmy must go.
  7. Easy 2 or 3 goal victory.
  8. I just finished The History of the Pneumatic Tyre by Eric Tompkins. It was a let down.
  9. They have all won one. United won 2 since they all departed (last season included) and would probably have won more with these 3 in the team. Man U's worst period in the last 20 years pretty much happened when these 3 left.
  10. Remind me how many European Cups Manchester Utd won after Stam, Beckham and van Nistelrooy left .
  11. So predictable
  12. A bit of Glider circa 94 nostalgia. Pulp - Do you Remember The First Time? Blondie - Atomic Ride - Sight Of You Aaaahhhh.
  13. I think Stam, Beckham and Van Nistelrooy went to two of the biggest Clubs in the world. Certainly more successful in European Cup wins anyway. No amount of misty eyed Man U romanticism can deny that.
  14. Yeah, Similar thread of criticisms in terms of Fergies supposed blindspots and personal failings though.
  15. I've read that too and whilst it seems to be similar material they use I could probably say Taylor is less dry than Crick. I finished by actually wondering if Crick was a United fan as the book is so devoid of passion.
  16. Managing My Life? Yeah, it's ok but if you want a different spin on Fergie then get The Boss: The Many Sides of Alex Ferguson by Michael Crick. He's a United fan but doesn't come across as the rabid gluepot as most of their fans do. He's pretty insightful into the darker side of the man. I just finished both The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid and Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Both are great but Never Let Me Go is an absolute must that I read in 2 nights.
  17. And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - So Divided Really fucking good.
  18. Aye, sorry, my emphasis was really on the Scottish public and not the TV companies. Sky and BBC are just supplying the demand.
  19. The problem with Scottish football is we don't support our own game, we call it shite, downplay achievments and actively support another country's league. When Sky dropped our football Scotland should have dropped them. Can you imagine the English public, en masse, buying a television system which gave money to another countries football system? I can't. MOTD, more accurately the BBC, are just as bad. Where is our Saturday night highlights polished highlights package instead of MOTD? I remember when there was one. Our game is slowly being eroded by these two organisations in favour of them funding Bolton to pay Kevin Nolan 80k a week and I don't think we can begin to complain about it because we do fuck all about it.
  20. I woke up this morning with Brass in Pocket in my head. So I went and downloaded Pretenders. I know all the words and was actually pleasantly surprised to remind myself how perfectly MOR poptastic a lot of the tunes are.
  21. You may all have travelled further than me but I'm more knowledgable, ambitious and better informed.
