  1. McGhee: "We have Hartley loo0oo0ool!"
  2. Don't think he got much of a game behind Pish, Riordan and Stokes right enough. If we get a good season from Maguire this year then I'll be happy enough.
  3. See Scott Bain moved out on loan...
  4. Worth a look I'd say.
  5. So if someone offered you a shot of their season ticket because they weren't going, you would say no?
  6. I think that was in all competitions too. Maybe.
  7. Wilshere binning Mascherano.......LOL Joe Cole......LOL
  8. Players in bold have been beaten or matched by Hartley after day one.

  11. If you know someone who is a student but doesn't like football or doesn't go to games then I'm not sure what the problem is.
  12. Had a night out til about 2 last night. Got a lot on over the next few weeks then holiday next month so quiet weekend awaits.
  13. I'll probably not see the Dons until Perth or the Killie game so will reserve judgement until I've seen them play a few times despite the result. If I can see a team with fight that want to play for each other and the club with the occasional bit of skill then I'll be feeling optimistic. Not sure the above is too much to ask.
  14. If the club got the proceeds from bars near the ground, I would drink there rather than somewhere else in town or whatever. If I have two options for doing the exact same thing (drinking) but one of them gives the club money then it's an easy choice. With season tickets, the choice is pay more or pay less (I've a year left on mine anyway) and as you say, people will always pay less if they can. Not sure the two situations are comparable to be honest.
  15. Haw BB, I resent that implication! ;-) People are going to drink before games, if we can make some money because of that then why not? Shearer's Bar at St James Park is a good example, both sets of fans seem to get in and haven't seen any bother at all. I'd cite that as an example of how it could work if I was trying to get planning. I'm sure there are others but that's the biggest one I have first hand experience of. With respect to "blagging" concession season tickets, not sure what the problem is there. If I couldn't afford a full price season ticket but knew a student that had no interest in football then the club would have made money they otherwise would never see. It happens often enough that the club are surely aware of it and have no problem with it. Bums on seats and a higher number of people in the ground puts the club in a better position for negotiating sponsorship and pitchside advertising etc.
  16. Yep, this seems to be about money rather than worrying about where I can get a beer before the game.
  17. Yea, available to hire or something. Even if they get one booking a month it's still money for nothing. I hope we build these facilities and utilise them - they're all potential money spinners and given the state of the game, it's something we and other clubs should be looking at.
  18. Possibly, I do think it would turn a profit eventually. Especially if there is internationals, concerts or rugby and stuff. £3 a beer or something. Doesn't need to be anything more than a couple of taps and a lot of space.
  19. I think there would be a return on it the season it opens.
  20. I would hope so - I've always said I would rather pour money for beers into the club than I would some shitty bar in the city. Even if it was a bit dearer.
  21. Do I remember them saying they were hoping to have it build by 2012?
  22. Land Rover. It's good as it leaves me lots of space for microwaves and lies.
