The highlights don't do our dominance justice. Mackie had a one-on-one with the keeper that was saved and Kerr had another shot that nipped past the post low down. They were both great chances and yet were not on the highlights. Says something when they can't fit all your opportunities into the 5 minute slot

In many ways this is better news than signing a player. It gives us a great opportunity to get the best from him for a few years now and then make some money for the club. It might not bring a short term benefit to the playing staff as Fyvie is already here but its a better long term move.

He must be a spill over from the Hearts Mad site that was finally shut down for good due to their moronic, loyalist stance on most issues. They have been pedaling that horseshit about Abergreen for years. Its clutching. I thought most of the Jambos on that thread were being indirectly complimentary of our fans, if not a tad envious.

Better ? I say best. You will love Fife and Fife will love you back.

Wonder if they will show Stewart pushing the ref away from the free kick. That was hilarious.

We get to go to the Kingdom for a game ?

In the US final Murray was beaten comprehensively by Federer as far as I remember. Big game mentality might be in Murray's favour more against Tsonga. Hard to say what will be best but if Murray plays the way he has been in the tournament he should be confident either way. When is the other semi ?
-
That would be shit. Of all the people we have been chasing he is the guy I want to see at Pittodrie.
-
Totally. Its the first time in a long time I have watched the end of an Aberdeen game and felt totally relaxed as the game was sewn up. No backs to the wall. In fact, the last 5 were surreal as they had 9 men and we had 10 and there were very few Hearts fans in the stadium

Championship with aspirations for EPL. I agree, madness. However, budget constraints are coming to visit everyone these days and he was looking at Caldwell was he not ?

I'd say we came out very strong and dominated the first quarter but Hearts started to get on top towards the back of the first half. They were making in roads down both flanks where Grassi and Foster were getting it a bit tight. However, any deliveries were lost as they had nobody upfront to attack the ball. I don't think Langfiled was ever troubled, even when they were on top for 20 minutes. That little guy Robinson got in about us for a brief period but no end product. Second half we destroyed them, simple as.

P&J: McGhee in move for ex-Rangers forward
Ajja replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Its hard to deal with but by the same token we should probably be looking at offers for Fyvie at the end of this season. His stock is rising and he is not going to sign another contract at Aberdeen so we have to get a wedge for him now otherwise he moves into pre-contract territiory pretty quickly next season ( I think?) and we will lose him with nothing but a small compensation cheque for his age. -
Aside from Grassi I thought McDonald was the only under-par performance and he wasn't terrible. He was too slack with the ball at his feet on several occassions and gave up possession in dangerous areas, particualrly in the 2nd half. Fortunately he had some battlers like Young, Fyvie and Kerr in there clearing up.

At the game, the first free kick opportunity saw Mulgrew, Miller and Young step up to it and Miller dummied with Mulgrew hitting it. The next one, same players but Young dummied and Miller hit it and got closer than Mulgrew. We were chatting late on saying the next one had to be Young's turn and he would hit the net. It was hilarious to see it sneak in, I think Miller fooled the keeper as he looked like he was going to get a glancing header on it.

We want 4! We want 4!

Superb display tonight. We bossed the game for the first 30 mins and the last 45 mins. Hearts were very poor and no threat whatsoever up front. However, I thought we were excellent in so may areas tonight. Mulgrew was excellent in a central defensive position, even covering for Grassi (who was a little shaky as has been mentioned) at times. Kerr had a very good game and could have had two goals if not for a few inches either side of the Hearts goal. Fyvie was also very good and played a very progressive midfield role, controlled large segments of the game and was directing other players around him, hard to believe the lad is not 17 yet. Thought Miller used his strength very well and held up play superbly, something we miss when he is not in the team. Mackie played a blinder tonight, sometimes the route one football looked so easy he could have had 3 or 4 goals tonight. The main thing we saw tonight was an Aberdeen side playing with confidence. They got torn in from the start and got an early goal and at times when we were 2 up they were playing some beautiful flowing football that Hearts just could not cope with. Great way to spend an evening! COYR

Thought I better get back on this thread and congratulate Murray on two very strong performances since my last comments. He has played very well in these last two rounds even with Nadal pulling out injured. Fair play to him. I hope to be eating another shovel full of humble pie after the semis and looking to not choke on it

Still confident the RRFC will turn those Buckie swilling tinks over. They were down to 10 men for the bulk of the game and still got a draw. While I want to see Raith through as it will make for a better cup experience I suspect Airdrie would be the easier draw.
-
Phew. Tried to make us go to Airdrie, we said NO NO NO.
-
Apparently he was horse on Sunday. That works for me...who is our next unrealistic potential signing ?

Signed a pre-contract with Hearts. Source: BBC Radio Scotland, Sportsound

Is it a free-for-all or do you have first rights on your current list ? Harcus should be seeded this time around so we all get handicaps and start with 1 point.

From the highlights it looked like there were enough chances for us to win comfortably. I couldn't help thinking that Miller would possibly have put away a few of them had he been playing. Couple of balls across the face of the goal where there didn't seem to be anyone attacking the ball. On the other hand, our defence lived pretty dangerously and gifted them at least 3 clear cut opportunities that they made a pigs ear of. Still all feels a bit fragile but if we can win ugly for a few weeks and keep up the clean sheet ratios then we might build a little confidence for the run in. I'd say UTD and Hibs are pretty much out of sight now, its all about saving face and the cup.
