Donstalk, Aberdeen-Mad and the Ultras join forces!

Good luck with the venture lads. Won't be making it myself but hope it works and the atmosphere is good in the SS. The sooner Pittodrie returns to the SS atmospheres the better, never could get into the RDS. -
Except when you are heading into a housing estate in Dunfermline and they point the correct way.

Yes, I travel to Aberdeen very infrequently so it doesn't hit me too hard and above all I just want to see some sort of stadium project get underway some-fucking-where at some-fucking-time!

Dundee United v Aberdeen, DATE CHANGED TO THUR 7th MAY 8PM
Ajja replied to minijc's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Yip, read that on BBC. Also, the Dundee clubs have a 'gentlemens agreement' to move fixtures and it was Dundee's turn. Guess what Dundee did? UTD spitting teeth about this and rightly so, its potentially a big pay out gone for them. They are raging that they had to notify the SPL themselves about the fixture clash and have said they will no longer get involved in such disputes to help out. You couldn't make tis shit up. -

Not only that but they were able to take into account a fun run in Vegas and a rugby match in Edinburgh. How can they not look at the fucking football fixtures for fuck sake. I'm royally fucked off about this. -

What a cunt. I was looking forward to a Saturday day trip to Tannadice. -
Agreed, our future is all about players proving themselves and moving on to better things but I'd rather it was with young players at the bottom of the curve so we can benefit from their developmental years and cash in on them at their peak. With guys like Seve and Smith we are getting them near the top of the curve and milking them for a while only to lose them for free to a sub-standard side who pay more moneyin wages. Its the only way that JC appears to be able to operate, he is quite good at picking up players who have already done their developing but are stuck in some way. He talks them around and gets a short term gain from them but they are almost always inherently flawed as players for some reason. They also almost always involve a large salary in terms of our pay scale.

Don't disagree with you there, I still think that the limitations we are experiencing in the current market place are very disabling, more than any of us understand or want to accept. Loan deals are all well and good and can be worth the effort in the short term but you are investing in someone else in terms of development. If the work involved and financial committment is low then I don't see the harm in continuing with both routes. Was Touzani a trialist ? I thought Daal looked OK as well, I never really thought we gave him a decent run at it.

Unfortunately its indicative of the pull than Aberdeen FC has in the market place. Most of these guys (Miller, Seve, Smith et al) are at Aberdeen for purely selfish reasons and are never going to come out and wax lyrical about there position at the club. Added to that Calderwood sends similar messages so sets a poor example. Like it or not, Aberdeen is just a stepping stone to something better for these guys, an opportunity to give yourself a foot up to a better financial package. Seve will probably secure a role somewhere for a season and earn a better wage only to end up touring lower league sides in England or bounce back up to Kilmarnock, Hibs or UTD. He'd be better of sticking it out at Pittodrie but who can blame him for seeking a pay out. As you say, it would be nice to here him talk with some enthusiasm or at least some class and perspective.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/8004397.stm Certainly a poorer deal. They will come with the old sob story of 'if we don't do this we will go bust and there will be no money'. Over a barrell on this one I suspect. The quickening continues.

Out In the car driving from Derry to Larne ot catch a ferry.
-
I'd rather be reading that Seve is hoping to persuade the club to offer him a new deal than the other way. The climate has changed markedly and guys like Seve should be delighted to be offered a deal rather than believing he can carve out something more lucrative elsewhere. If he stays then fair enough we can get a decent CB for a season or two, if he goes then we will have a wage to offer to someone else. I'm indifferent.
-
I assume we are doing this through necessity rather than preference. There is no money in this economic climate and so we have to look to where we can compete for players, this is an avenue that may have frustrated in previous times but regardless of how many lumps of shit get stuck in your pan its always worth panning the river.
-
Ah fuck it. I'll take any cunt, anywhere, anytime. Get stuck into the pish in the top six and finish with a bang, bring it all on.
-
Calderwoods interview on BBC says Mackie and Miller are only two missing but I'm sure Kerr had a 3 match suspension and has only served 2 matches (Well & ICT).

Is this reference to my business acumen or my passion for the pie
-
A finer detail might be to stop them winning the league also Surely Hearts are the 'new boys' to top 6 ?
-
I think we can win at Ibrox....is that overly optimistic ? Are we not supposed to get the rub because we have been top six last season. Is it not the new boys who get shafted in the fixtures ? Motherwell look more likely to get top six so we should get 3 home and 2 away. Most important thing is we get Hearts at Pittodrie and if we get Motherwell then it gives us a good chance at 3 points too.
-
Brians constant tinkering with the time of the protest has just shown up his incompetence. Why did he have to try and match the plans of the club to stage its own event ? Also, so many of the big players in his movement just didn't turn up on the day and thats on him to motivate them.
-
Aye, was disappointed he didn't clarify the importance of that one but you can't win them all. Also, updated position is: Considine 1 Diamond 4 Mulgrew 4 Vidal 1 MacDonald 6 Young 1 Aluko 4 Duff 1 Severin 1 Maguire 5 Mackie 6 Miller 10 Wright 2 Non-strikers 23 goals Strikers 23 goals -- After ICT game 11/4/09 MacDonald matching Mackie's tally now......in case nobody noticed
-
Just pleased to see Sandy gets the rules, even if nobody else does
-
Its absolutely the sensible position to take up at present. Remember that the guys that are being held up as examples of our apparent restrictions on wages are high earners who are long in the tooth. They are absolutely prime candidates for cost cutting, large outlay for little return. ROI ratings are poor on these guys at present. If the management are in any way on their game then they will be putting everything on hold right now and concentrating all energy on landing this bitch of a season with minimal damage.
-
If nothing else, at least that article reinforces some very important thinking, namely: • Aluko is NOT a striker, even when he is playing as one. • Goals in the cup DO count
