  1. Miller "It was one of the easier cup finals" McLeish "We wiped the floor with them"
  2. Flaw ? Hibs have picked up points against poor side and will be put to the test in their next set of fixtures. Where is the flaw ?
  3. Good point. There recent 'improved form' has all been about keeping teams out. Let's hope Duberry was responsible for that.
  4. Duberry out might make a difference in this one. They have something like 6 clean sheets in a row at home so lets hope his absence makes the difference. Blackman owned them when he played at Motherwell with a hatrick at home and one in Perth so could be a good move that Maguire is suspended.
  5. Possibly the opportunity to have a look came up and rather than say 'we're not currently in the market' Brown is always looking. No harm in getting the guy in and seeing what he's got, particularly if he is floating and can be brought in this summer when Brown has a clearer idea of who is going and who is staying. Its a long game building for next season, keep the patience.
  6. UTD aren't the target though so ICT losing benefits us. Tonights game is a must win and should put us beyond St Js reach as they are not likely to pick up more points than us in last few games. I believe we can catch Motherwell and Kilmarnock also. Hibs have won 5 but they have beaten St Mirren twice, Hamilton, Inverness and Killie - easily the 4 poorest sides in the league right now in terms of form. their next 4 games are away at St Johnstone, Celtic and Aberdeen and home to Hearts. Lets get 3 points tonight.
  7. While you are correct that Mulgrew has played well for Celtic for the majority of the last 6-7 weeks its important that you keep that in context. He was poor for them for almost all of the period before that and was not a first pick. He has been playing central defence in a team who are playing so much on the front foot that they could possibly have been placing traffic cones in the centre of their defence and they would have coped. The first time they falter slightly as an attacking unit (ie Motherwell) then the weakness of their back line is exposed horribly, Mulgrew included. Back to Diamond. I'd be surprised if he was keen on this move but who knows. As Jute says, no story without quotes. Personally, I'm with BB, Zander used to be a prospect and its a real shame that things have gone the way they have but he has demonstrated too often in recent years that he is not going to develop or progress in a red shirt. If he does that in some other colours then good luck to him and we will no doubt regret his loss in some way. Bottom line is that he is not doing it for Aberdeen and so we have to get rid.
  8. Crucial game. With Motherwell beating Celtic it looks like a tight race for top 6. Killie are the team to watch now I think. If they keep leaking points they might be catchable. If we can win this we are in a good position going into a run of away games against the teams around us.
  9. Asked a mate who is a big QPR fan, his view was this; He was a very talented young player. Moved on when we (QPR) were shit a few years ago but got injuries and has never fulfilled potential. I thought he could have been a very decent EPL player but never made it. Has played on loan and short term deals for us a couple of times - he is a local lad. My guess is that he won't be quick enough for the SPL. The guy is 31 and has played at a few clubs in the lower leagues. Not sure what we would be getting. Could swing either way really. Good solid experienced head with footballing ability or ageing crock with slippers and pipe at the ready.
  10. Do we really need this ?
  11. Hearts looked poor today, they were content to just sit in and play soak and break football. Played like a bottom six side rather than one playing for 2nd. The pitch was terrible and stopped anyone from really making any controlled runs or passes but we still managed some tidy football. As said, Milsom was excellent and we bossed the midfield with a very strong performance in there. Most players were digging in to defend, even Maguire and Aluko were defending from the front in true Brown style. Still hopeful of top 6 as other results are working out for us, UTD dropping points unexpectedly and ICT losing to Hibs. OF wins tomorrow and a win in Perth on Tuesday and we are in a veyr good position.
  12. Also did a lot of ball winning against a lack lustre Hearts midfield. I agree he was a stand out today.
  13. Fat ladys and singing spring to mind.
  14. ICT and Motherwell are finding it difficult to pick up points and look catchable to me. I think UTD will get top 6 and its touch and go for Killie as they are toiling to get anything but might have enough in the bank to secure 5th. I think its all about the form St J show in the coming weeks and the game at Perth on Tuesday is the deal breaker for me. Within the teams we are competing with (exc UTD) they are the only side who are looking like they are picking up form rather than losing it. With St J at Ibrox and Motherwell at home to Celtic over the weekend, beating Hearts would put us in a potentially strong position to take the teams above us.
  15. Agent Foster putting the huns out. Some awesome shots of the orcs in the crowd. Lovin' it.
  16. Good result for us tonight. Thought Motherwell were a sure thing for 3 points against St Mirren.
  17. Seems like Matt Cardle and Zander played a good game in the centre. Encouraging news.
  18. Dunt.
  19. So we are allocated the away end and if we sell that out we have an option for one half of the touchline stand. Should manage to sell the 1,600 away end quick enough and the full 2,500 tickets won't be a problem. Helen should be giving us the whole touchline stand as they will never sell out their allocation for a midday game on TV.
  20. Think they give the OF behind goals and half the stand up the side that holds 2,500, probably gives them around 2,800-3,000 tickets.
  21. Normal away end plus one side of pitch would be good. That would mean around 4,000 Dons fans in the ground and guarantee a wall of noise supporting our team. Not sure they would be willing to give up home advantage for a few dollars more though. http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/SFAPublications/SFAHandbook/12%20CupCompRules.pdf Not sure if that is out of date but in item 41 it says up to 20% for visiting allocation, which as I said is the capacity of the away end at St Mirren, probably designed for that rule in advance.
  22. I think that is correct but is it not 20% which is 1,600 in 8,000 ? They may give us half of one of the other stands which take about 2,500 each. Can't see us getting anymore than around 2,800 tickets and I'm pretty sure there will be more demand. Possibly very limited public sale.
  23. Could be a ticket scramble for this one. Their away end holds about 1,600 so unless they give us two stands then there will be a lot of disappointed Dons fans. Time for the MPB (Madrid Panic Button) to show its face
  24. If Partick can dispense of these West Fife tinks at home then we should not be concerning ourselves at all for this game. Two of my staff are Dunfermline fans, if we lose this game I think I will sack them both, austerity measures and football prejudice.......a heady cocktail indeed.
  25. Thought he looked very good considering the guy flew up from Norwich late the night before. Apparently was gasping to play but Broon put him on the bench. Showed a good attitude from the off and looked pretty composed seeing as he had no idea of the personnel or system we were playing.
