The lads were in stitches on the sidelines though, he was clearly good to have about the warm up.
-
Hearts next 4 games are Hibs, Rangers, Kilmarnock & Celtic. 8 points is easily made up if we can actually start putting 3 points on the board in our games.
-
1-0 Jambos. Not in the game and the cunts grind out a goal from nowhere. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
Currently Hearts 0 Motherwell 0. As dangerous as it seems I hope Motherwell pump these cunts and keep them within 5 points. Hamilton v Hibs draw would be best result too. Keep the top 6 dream alive
-
We were at the back on the other side of the goals so there must have been multiple groups of doom merchants.
-
Where were you sitting out of interest ? It might have been the guys in front of us. There was a regular impromptu cry of 'you fat orange bastard'
-
There is one thing you can be sure of. If you give up on that dream of 3rd place Hearts and UTD will start to drop points and we will be back in the hunt in a few weeks. In all seriousness, there are so many points to be lost in the coming weeks that its hard to write off any outcome. We could have Motherwell and Hibs breathing down our necks and staring at 7th place or we could be back in 3rd. Its a lottery. The depressing thing is that we cannot be too confident of beating anyone at present so who the fuck knows what is going to happen......hope that helps

Watch the highlights again No highlights of Youngs shocking warm up either
-
If it was the 'Thats a fucking terrible warm up Young' then I must confess that was me and I was most certainly doing nothing other than poking fun at the phenomonally negative position being taken by the group in front of us. I also shouted at Mackie for playing a 'terrible ball' when he contested a bounce up for the same purpose. It was indeed tiresome to hear some of the shit they were dishing out and I know these guys are some of the more ardent and regular visitors to our games. Its tragic. So if it was my shout you were offended by then I hope that sets things a little more in context
-
Having viewed the highlights I have two more points to add. 1. I may be imagining it (or trying hard to defend him) but the way the ball bounced off the turf just before Diamond went for contact at their goal looked unusual. 2. Tommy Wrights header was pretty woeful. He bent under the ball and it came off the top of his head. I'd be stretching it if I agreed it was a great goal but a most welcome one
-
Something myself and FJ were discussing last night at the game, did anyone else notice how awkward and cumbersome Wright is when winning headers ? Of course, his goal was an exception but it really made Miller look good in terms of flick ons and general arial control. He is more the JCB variety of striker but maybe thats what we require at present.

I agree. I think Maguire was overly keen to be the hero in the second half, he is clearly trying to impress JC and knows he is running out of chances. In fact, quite a few players were almost trying too hard last night, Seve was trying to run everything and so not doing anything particularly well. Even aluko was running across field, as well as up and down to chase everything and as a result looked like he was being stretched too much. When Jamie Smith came on the game changed for me. He started to pull the game out a bit in the final third and it left Aluko with a bit more space. When Aluko is our only creatuve option then teams can snuff it out easily by putting men on him. With Smith on the field it makes it harder to do that. I hope we have the balls to play them both on saturday and pull Dunfermlines plodding back line all over the shop.

The main concern I had last night was that every player in red looked short of confidence and self belief. Nobody was putting a foot on the ball, too many players were lost in terms of positioning, particularly Vidal. It was not clear what th eset up was, were we playing 3 or 4 at the back ? I still don't know. Maguire seemd to be in the FB position for most of the first half. Everytime Maguire was set up to shoot you could feel the tension in the crowd and people were so quick to get on him and Mackies back. With that lack of self belief we look very nervy and very disorganised from front to back. We really have to get that sorted for Saturday and my big fear is that this game is huge for us as everyone wants a cup win. I hope to fuck theh players can deal with that pressure becuase last night they look like, collectivley, they couldn't.

So how many of that 3100 are Dons fans then ?

How's the weather in the west today ? Is it boots and big socks tonight ?
-
Exactly. We have to get past this idea that we will get a penalty box striker who bangs in 20+ goals in a season. Players are required to do much more than stand around in the 6 yard box to pop the ball in the net, the modern game demands more flexibility from limited squads. The predators of old are not going to be part of our game, get over it. Look at this seasons stats in the 30 goals thread. Players like ZD, MacDonald, Mulgrew getting 4-5 goals each. Its an all round performance.
-
I remember a game against Killie a few seasons back where we went at them and took them to pieces for an hour. Game only ended up 2-1 I think but we really ripped them in the first half, it might have been Maguire's introduction into the 'bags of potential' hall of fame. Would like to see that performance again with a little more relentless and merciless finishing off of the opposition. As for giving away tactics, lets just be happy that JC is not building his approach around the opposition for a change Moral boosting thumping required lads
-
Good work Harcus. Starting the new season the way you finished the last We should really introduce our candidates, out of respect like Here's mine: George Beverly Shea - Some bible thumping tenor involved with Billy Graham, just turned 100 but probably lived a life of christian goodness so will live to 110! Susan Atkins - part of the Manson family, in the slammer and dying of cancer. Had 'weeks to live' in May 2008 Mr apple. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer but has undergone successful treatment apparently. Rumours still rife that he has taken out a deposit on the farm. Ruby Muhammad - Mother of the nation of Islam. 102 and still breathing.

I'm liking the chat. Hope it materialises into a tanking

Would prefer UTD to win if they don't get a draw. Although, in all honesty I couldn't give a fuck about these also-rans

Could also be down to Aluko
