  1. Possibly, I got side swiped by the 'same as the above mentioned players' bit. It's late and I'm an opinionated, argumentative fucker at the best of times.
  2. He has some fairly chronic red hair as well. He won't be getting over that any time soon.
  3. Again, another dreadful comparison. Miller was so far from being a leader of men. Talented, possibly, but lazy and not bright enough to manage himself let alone a teams motivation.
  4. Here I am, here I am. How do you do.
  5. I suspect that we are going to see Aluko used as an impact player in the latter part of games after a more physical side has battered the opposition. He is not consistent enough to get full games at present.
  6. I want to believe, show me how. Hibs to pull back tonights game is one goal. Then a 7-0 victory on NYD will just about do it. Bring it on. PMA.
  7. I think Hartley will be brilliant under Brown. Browns positive but structured approach will suit Hartley's own style and he will grow under his stewardship. Good things are afoot.
  8. Really liked how Brown was suggesting that their arrival and two wins has been 'coincidence' and that the players have turned this around themselves. Fantastic man management to show such humility and give the players a sense of collective responsibility as well as opportunity to rebuild self-belief. Excellent.
  9. I think we would all be for that idea to be honest. The point is that chairmen won't vote to decrease revenue when they are on the brink of failure as it stands. Boredom and tedium is likely to increase in a ten team set up and over time revenues will probably drop as a result. However, a 16 team set up will mean definite drops in revenue. It's a crucial difference between probably and definitely.
  10. I suspect a 15 goal turnaround will be beyond us though
  11. Comparing Zero to Hartley is like comparing a fish to a scaffolding pole. Carrying a player who gives you one moment of genius is not an option for Aberdeen. Having a player who is a little off the pace of a game but brings fight, inspiration and cohesion to the team and ensures the relationship with the fans is taken care of throughout is a must for a club like Aberdeen. The question is can we afford NOT to have that ?
  12. Both on bench I think.
  13. Just hope we don't get out-muscled in midfield with that line up. Looking forward to Magennis getting torn into their CBs though, hopefully allow Vernon to pick up scraps.
  14. Totally agree, I put it in quotation marks to demonstrate that it has been a view touted around, certainly not mine. Utterly fucking ridiculous.
  15. UTD are really going to be struggling for a decent back line in his one. Kenneth is suspended for tonights game against Hibs and there is talk of them playing Daly at CB they are so light on options . Even if Kenneth comes back in against us he will be very rusty with no games since mid-November. He is piss poor at the best of times so if he is the best they have we should be getting Magennis on to ruffle them up a bit. I see victory.
  16. What are you babbling about ? You posted an opinion that I disagree with so I posted a response, stating my own opinion. At no point have I claimed to have a monopoly on truth or fact. If you aren't happy with these fundamental principles of a message board and aren't capable of having someone disagree with you without breaking down into some sort of teenage fit then I suggest you go take up knitting or something.
  17. LOL. Nothing liked a scraper against a terrible Hibs side to get the optimism flying back. I predict a nervy, hard fought 1-1 draw and then we will do UTD at Pittodrie on NYD.
  18. I read the entire post yes. I responded to the part that might have a chance of coming to fruition. The rest I merely dismissed as the stuff of fairies and pixies.
  19. Exactly. He made some poor decisions and managed the players badly but he is not an idiot. We agreed to that deal for genuine reasons and they were nothing to do with 'Foster being a hun' or Smith having some sort of magic power over our chairman.
  20. I think that most teams fans in the SPL believe they are 'competing' with the OF as they are the marker for success. Regardless of how ridiculous this may seem, the OF are the team everyone wants to beat, thus meaning they are the competitive benchmark. The rest of your comments I fully agree with. I don't support a 10 team league as a long term solution but it is the only sensible commercial solution short term.
  21. You would have to ask yourself where the logic would be in the move otherwise. McGhee was doing everything to reduce the current wage bill. This deal would be an opportunity to get a player in and reduce the bill by £1500-2000 a week. It's the only sensible explanation as to why McGhee agreed to it.
  22. Just make sure you close it once you've gone through.
  23. I don't think anyone (certainly not me) is suggesting that quality hasn't dropped and that it is affecting crowds all over. The OF are suffering the same thing that all clubs are, other than quality reductions, the economic environment is biting hard and people just don't have the money to attend every game. Ergo, they attend the one's most likely to be competitive.
  24. Entirely possible. In the absence of fact, I'll just form my opinion on my belief.
  25. Negative formations, tactics and playing guarded football is a global shift though. It's the modern game, very few clubs and even countries play genuine expansive football regardless of the stakes. Its competitiveness and relevance that brings excitement and crowds.
