  1. If I was playing professional football for a team other than the Dons I would have no qualms about doing that with Aberdeen gear. The guy has every right to follow his team as long as he is committed to us when he plays. I wonder if Venegoor signed his card.
  2. What a gay as fuck name. Lucky he isn't called that.
  3. Could be even more fun if we go into the Falkirk game needing to beat them properly to negate goal difference. The way the pitched up against Hearts at Tynecastle last week I suspect it might be a difficult night. We are better midweek though
  4. Give him McNamara's wage. I'll take him the contract myself.
  5. He could be the signing that McNamara threatened to be but hasn't become...if that makes sense
  6. If you look carefully, they aren't stars. They are an 'X' and a 'Y'.
  7. What's that flying over your head, is it a ball, is it a ball ?
  8. If you don't put it down to confidence/self-belief then what is it ? He is clearly not a bad footballer or he wouldn't have been so successful for Dundee. C'mon, answers answers....
  9. I always breath throughout any game I attend. I have never failed to do it and its really important to me that I keep that tradition going. Not sure there is any correlation with us winning but I like doing it anyway.
  10. Forgot to cancel my Santa from the Bayern game. Might as well keep it now. I'm happy
  11. ....but thats the crux of it. Confidence is everything for a striker and Lovell has had his knocked well out of him. JC is not willing to try to manage him back to confidence so we are just as well getting rid.
  12. I wouldn't say he is awful. Aberdeen just don't play the game the way that suits Lovell best so his confidence is low and I think he has been managed quite poorly. The end result is awful, I agree, but you have to take some consideration of the circumstances. Playing with a team who play the ball on the floor through the channels I would bet Lovell will score a ton of goals. Unfortunately that won't be us.
  13. As supporters I think we need to shake off this notion that because we were utterly shocking 5 years ago we should accept a mediocre season. I have stated previously in this thread that there have been some great memories of the season but I was chatting to someone at work today and they were saying we had been having a brilliant season and how did we not beat St Mirren. I found myself arguing the opposite and that if you remove three games from our season (Dnipro away, Copenhagen and Celtic away) we would be looking at a wholly different prospect. That, to me, typifies the inconsistent season we have had...I can't even make up my mind whether it has been good or bad. Oh and as an aside...ST its QoS
  14. The only way that a useless turd like him can ever hope to climb from the bottom of the heap is to find someone worse than he is...
  15. You are right about the learning from this seasons exploits, unfortunately a lot of the key players who have learned as a group are likely to disappear (Clark, Hart, Nicholson, Miller, Lovell etc) and so the overall growth of the team will be lost to an extent.

  17. For bringing the school of thought to Scottish Football that a draw is better than a loss. (I don't blame him on a serious level, for the purposes of clarity )
  18. Its all Andy Roxburgh's fault.
  19. I'm more concerned he will retain his devilishly good looks. There shouldn't be any need to panic Mair or Bus can easily fill in for him
  20. Have a wee think about the usual thread that appears on here as the season draws to a close. Last year the 'highlights' were: Beating Hearts at Tynecastle Beating the huns at Pittodrie ....er, I have forgotten the others... This season it will be: Mackies goal in Dnipro 6000 Dandies in Madrid 4-0 against Copenhagen (FOUR fucking goals) Matching Bayern Munich 7000 Dandies at a cup semi Bounce at Parkhead as we cuffed Timothy 16000 Dandies at a cup semi at Hampden (Who knows what other highlights to come in the cup) I'm inclined to think this season has been pretty good. However, if you want to benchmark this season on the basis of good, steady progress with a level of consistent performances and a sense that we are growing as a team then it's probably been a step backwards.
  21. Its all coming down to next weekend boys and girls. We need Killie to take something from Falkirk which is not impossible as they have been doing OK now the pressure of 10 games without a win/relegation has gone. UTD are sure to give Hearts a good thumping at Tynecastle...again. We just need to take care of ICT and we will be in the box seat for top 6. Put yesterday behind you and keep the faith.

When I was in my early 20s and had no ties I went to every game, week nights in Aberdeen (travelling from Fife), testimonials, the lot. I even had a season ticket for the SS but in those days it was £4-6 to get into most games (late 80s) and it didn't feel like such a financial drain. It does become habit after a while but with other commitments in life like work, wife and kids, mortgage etc its just never gonna happen for me.
  23. Whytes seems to be an entirely away bar nowadays. Lots of people have given up on the Centenary as its always rammed by midday, roasting and impossible to get served in.

Couldn't agree more. Even if we were putting the likes of Man U, Real and Barca to the sword in the later stages of the CL I couldn't see myself committing that amount of my time and money to Aberdeen FC. Each to their own I guess
