Time to kick our league season into gear and our first league home game. Last weekend was as expected as it was disappointing but will give the team the benefit of the doubt. There were a few positives to take from the game but overall I think we may need to be patient. That being said, playing st mirren is probably a team to gain some confidence against. I expect nothing but a victory nor will anything less be acceptable. Obviously will have Scales back into the squad so expect to see mccrorie back in midfield. Another game for Bojan to get up to speed and hopefully we see Ramirez rather than Duk coming on. out Bed bed bed 2-0 Dons, Miovski and Stewart

Been good from what I’ve seen so far. Kiwis have been very happy as they’ve been doing pretty well. watched some of the cycling and swimming this morning.

First game of the season: Tims vs Dons

It sounds like it wasn’t the worst performance, although it’s hard to judge from the comments here and on Twitter Expected nothing from today, they are champions, same team as last season that were pretty damn good. Disappointed? Yes, unexpected? No. We’ve a lot of new players but we also know there’s still a bit to do in the transfer market. Not being able to play our preferred XI is not ideal and this does highlight that. I would hope as the season progresses we make it a bit more competitive and give a better account of ourselves. Will wait for the highlights to form an opinion, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought I’d wake up to. I will say this though. A couple of Tim mates that were at the game were actually quite impressed by some of our players. They saw potential in our team so it does give me hope. -

When do we play them? Hopefully he can last until after our game

lake Como has always been on my list of places to go, enjoy! -
Find it hilarious that someone is willing to pay for Bates, I really hope it crosses the line! Does seem like that would be making way for Dunne. How shite is he?

Agreed, I really don't know what to expect but with so many players and our defence still dodgy as fuck, i'm not convinced. Flag day, hopefully won't put too much pressure on the boys, but I think someone else said in another thread, they won't really know about the fear of playing there so won't mean anything. -
Sorry, started it on the train this morning then been in meetings since. It's up now, and edited since Coulson has now signed. So the floor is yours

The season proper is finally here! Are we going to see all of our potential optimism go out the window? I don’t think we should really judge the new team too much against the champions, but I obviously want to see a plan and a system and obviously a positive result. There are signs that Goodwin has the team building some good understandings and can see a lot of potential. But it is hard to judge the team against the opposition they’ve faced so far. I’m expecting it to be a bit of turbulent first couple of months, although Celtic aside, it’s a decent draw to start with. Edit: Coulson has signed, so does he go straight into the XI? Does Ramirez start or is it straight into the thick of it for Miovski? Personally I see the latter, I still get the feeling that Ramirez might move on regardless. Can’t see him being happy being a bench player. Obviously CB and C/M pairing is crucial for this one, can’t let them sit in front of us. Out bed bed bed 3-0 Tims (no dons scorer)

Just as well I hadn't published the match day thread yet then! Had said new signing was likely in the morning if not tonight. Welcome aboard!
-
He’s clearly been to kiwi spec savers. I thought I was missing something
-
Miovskis pen was ace. And mccrories goal was a peach too. Concerned about all the comments about the defence, haven’t seen enough to be able to comment on it, but would suspect it won’t bode well against the Tims. still, all four games won, none conceded, can’t complain about that at all
-
Away to set up a Raith rovers match day thread. Thanks for the heads up Be interesting to see if Miovski does actually make an appearance. From an interview on RTG, sounds like Duk is quite the poacher, so hopefully with a bit more fitness he'll start to get his eye in on goal.
-
Happy days, 5-0 win. Hopefully it is just nerves for Duk and he's better than Dadi was (albeit, still hold the cult status).
-
I mean, I'd much rather it be this way around and it works out.
-
Maybe I need to revise my prediction then...
-
Interested to see if Roos retains the jersey or whether we do see Lewis make an appearance. It’s a reasonably new defence so you’d have thought if he was genuinely still no.1 he’d get a chance to play with them. Anyway, would be good to build on the professional performances last week. 2-0 and no injuries would do fine. they’ll be confident following their penalty win over Raith on the weekend to back up their win over the Sons, so don’t think it’ll be straight forward, but we should be fine. out bed work work 2-0 dons, Ramirez and Hayes

Welcome aboard Luis! Things are boiling away nicely. Think JG thought miovskis visa might be through in 10 days time (after the Peterhead game?), so hopefully not much longer.
-
I see jack Milne has signed a three year deal at the club. Not a bad couple of days for the lad. They obviously think very highly of him.
-
Sucker for punishment. It's the hope that kills us all.
-
JG mentioned it in his post match presser that he's hopeful it'll happen in the next couple of days. Had hoped to wake up to news of his signing, but hey ho.
-
Now he's here, he deserves his own thread. I posted this on the DT Twitter feed last night (NZ time), this is exactly what I want to hear from a new signing. The level of desire to play the full 90 rather than a token 20mins. Superb. There definitely seems to be a potentially vibrant partnership with McCrorie forming, so I'm looking to see how that progresses over the course of the season. I'm sure he'll get his goal soon enough, would have been the icing on the cake last night mind.

I know it's on Dumbarton so we definitely should, but we looked like an actual team there. Fingers crossed this is a sign of things to come, Ramadani seemed to slot in seamlessly. I'm actually gutted for Ramirez too, that goal should have stood. It was an excellent finish to round of some great play. Getting a bit excited about the upcoming season...
