Its quite depressing to be honest. I know we're skint but we're fucked if the board do not release funds for MM to invest. Why are there so many inconsistencies from within the club regarding the amount of money available?
-
This is what worries me too. Its all well and good saying you'll replace them, but at the moment, its hard to see who is going to replace anyone as no-one with any quality seems to want to come to us. Its a bit concerning that there's all this chat about more players leaving and being a turnover of 8-10 players. I just don't see how thats going to happen.

Given that it looks likely Zander will be out again for one reason or another. Anyone got any thoughts of how we'll line up on Thursday? Hopefully a better organisation of the same players will be less embarrassing.

P&J: Dons firing blanks in transfer market
manc_don replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
But surely the fact that we are unable to get anyone signals time to move on and look at pastures new? I understand he probably has most of his contacts in England, but its becoming increasingly clear that its a waste of time. I think it shows that the players in these premier league teams think they are better than they actually are and football is not their main driver. You'd have thought examples set by Aluko, Walker and to a lesser extent Vidal, that they will get the chance to play. As Ajja said, we need to blood youngsters asap, because if we're not signing anyone, we need to makes sure our team is as experienced as it can possibly be. -
Young Dons names in international squads.

Tommy Wright to reach fitness by Christmas..............??

We need to get rid of him as soon as he is fit. What a disaster of a signing! Shame really, comes across as a decent guy. -
The obligatory Olomouc away roll call thread

When I was watching the game yesterday, the two stands (not including the stand with the TV camara on it) seemed pretty full. -
My thoughts exactly. You'd have thought after Manchester, English clubs would realise this. My mate said she hopes its the last time it happens, just wants 3 foreign visiting teams instead.
-
I hear Rankgers were in their full glory yesterday. Full chorus of "songs" and generally being the scum bags they are. A mate of mine said it ruined her experience of watching her team gut them and a number of them got thrown out in the home section.

Amazing cooked breakfast! Nice waitress when I was in there too.

Spotted at Pittodrie . . . . .

To be fair to them, it doesn't stipulate the distance between the cones, who's to say they're not a mile apart! Surely even Foster would be able to control the ball between those distances. -

Whilst I was pleased to see him admit his cock up in proceedings, it was an abomination of a result. Nothing can detract from that. -

Thats bollocks and you know it, why does it matter where the team come from?!? I don't think anyone wasn't worried when we got humped like that. It shouldn't be happening and I don't care under which manager. I'd disagree that the Celtic side were worse than they were. -

Whilst we probably needed this defeat to probably finally point out to the board how much we are lacking, I cannot take this one of the chin. We should not have been pumped 5-1 at home, I don't care who the fuck it is, 5-1 is a disgrace. The team we lost to were average at best but it was more due to our horrendous lineup and attempts at defending which cost us the game. I honestly dont see how you can not be worried by this? If nothing changes, we'll be lucky to not get raped by a cricket score by the tims. -
Apparently Wilshire is tearing the hunnery a new one

I noticed St. Johnstone played yesterday too and wondered the same thing?

The Hans Brinker hostel isn't bad either! They put the Smeltic-Aberdeen cup replay game on for me especially even though the club (below the hostle) wasn't opening for a few hours. Also have a bar upstairs which is fairly cheap and a great place to start a night out. That aside though, you'll have a great time! In Amsterdam, check out the club Dansen bij Jansen for student fanny Somehow managed to get talked into dancing on the bar for free Sambuca by a hot barmaid. It was fun though

That is why Andrew, I never ever ever bet on Aberdeen I used to do it quite a bit but I never won.
-
You are probably correct fj. In my opinion its more of a beneficial deadline so they can hopefully get into the squad for the hull game. Just to get a run around with the team etc. Otherwise we'll be incredibly lucky to escape the celtic game without a cricket score.

Bb i'm sure there was an article in one of the papers with wm pretty much alluding to that point. Milne needs to invest as its clear (finally!) That the lack of investment is going to cost the club a further fortune. I know we haven't done it, and why we haven't but i just wish sometimes we would specutlate to accumulate before a disaster. I know its easier said than done, but we were crying out for it, and i am suprised it took mm and probably the club this long to realise.

See, I agree, JC generally knew how to set the team up not to lose, however, that was generally on occassions were weren't expected to win, which is something you raised BB. I agree with it. We only perform when there is no pressure on the team, i.e. underdogs. As you quite rightly said, we performed in Europe because we were not expected to make it out of the Dnipro game. I mean, even Brazil lost 5-0 at home... But when things are expected of us, even JC couldn't tackle the problem of the players hiding or something going wrong. I have no idea why this happens, maybe its due to the lack of a strong vocal character on the park, but it certainly isn't something new. The same thing happened on Thursday that has been happening in all of JC's teams. Granted, JC isn't the manager anymore, but those players were still his and MM needs to find out a way and quickly how to change their trail of thought. I'm in full agreement that the defence needs sorting out, and as I said earlier, we need 3 defenders, 4 if we could really afford it.

Honestly, admin in editting shock Meant to say TW, I owe ya pint next time I see you, cheers for the advice re: degree show!
-
Just seen the goals, god what terrible defending Nice finishes nonetheless and credit to their team being able to punish us.
-
I'm glad, it needs to be said. Too many of the squad have been coasting in that team for far too long. Out of curiousity, what happened to our linking with Klimpl? I take it he hasn't signed for anyone and he certainly sounded like he was keen to link up with MM again? I also don't really agree with Duncan Shearer's article, JC got money to spend, its only fair that MM gets a decent wad to spend now its patently obvious our squad lacks anything. As I said, you get what you pay for.

Surely you don't begrudge him that move do you capitalsharpie?!? He deserved that move, and its a shame it hasn't worked out for him. But hopefully, the board realise now really is the time to replace him and hopefully Hart as well! Otherwise its going to be one helluva season for all the wrong reasons.
