I'd agree with Ptayles, Maguire definitely needs to be dropped, but thats the problem with our squad being so threadbare, we don't really have anyone that can step up to the plate. The same goes for Miller. But I would like to see Crawford tried out.

I just don't think he's consistent enough. I've always thought he was a good player and certainly worthy to play for United, just not been convinced. I do agree though, they are crying out for a creative midfielder ala Scholes.

But Fergie was kidding himself on that he wouldn't need to dip further into his budget this season. I actually think Ronaldo papered a lot of cracks by scoring a lot of crucial goals. Thats fair enough. I think most folk on here thought the same when the rumours were rife of his apparent appointment. That is not to say we won't give him our backing, because of course we will. I hope to hell he turns things around, its just not looking too good at the moment.

We still need at least 2 signings before the window shuts. A right back and a right mid. I wish I shared your optimism reekie, but I just can't. We have serious problems in the team and I don't think we looked up for it at all on Saturday. Yes we were outplayed by a superior Celtic side but it was the distinct lack of effort/cohesion and passion which worried me. We've wasted far too much time chasing signings that weren't going to be pulled off but what is important that the club rallies round and starts the season properly on Saturday. They'll need to show infinitely more passion and desire to beat Hamilton and I hope they realise this.

Out of curiousity, as I don't know, is Crawford a RB? Why isn't he being played instead of playing Duff? It does Duffs confidence no good being played there and it sure as hell is a detriment to the team. All assuming of course that Crawford is a RB
