  1. Haha yeah it did sound like they absolutely honking infront of goal today! Just worries me though, if we actually play a team that can score goals we'll get a hammering Ah well, at least it was sunny I guess eh? What were the players reactions after the match Padre? Any banners like there were ( post that game last season) at smeltic park last season?
  2. I was very surprised we didn't concede today by the sound of things on the radio, but it did also sound like we were good going forward, just again absolutely horrendous infront of goal. This needs to be addressed big time and FAST! Still, a point more than I expected from today.
  3. Match of the day is going to be an interesting one tonight that's for sure. I can't believe United lost 2-0 away to Fulham! I think I got rid of Hangeland this week as well Most shocking scoreline today though was Falkirk 4 - Inverness 0! Didn't see that coming at all. Butcher had done a good job so far.
  4. Pretty certain we've lost everytime we've been on Alba
  5. Fair enough, I think maybe looking at it too finanically influenced. I certainly wouldn't take anyone from any other SPL team. Black it is then
  6. My two preferred choices. Probably Nicholl as he's already on the pay roll and he seems like a decent bloke. Have we lost under him when he's been in charge of the team?
  7. Haha no don't worry it wasn't a dig at you at all! Moreso Britain as a whole as to me it seems logical, but being brought up on that you only know what your taught. I just assumed it was what your were taught as a basic footballing skill. Re your last sentance. Its certainly nothing that I ever heard, because we certainly kept scores in the leagues we played in. But with regards to them not cementing a position down until about that age I think thats true in certain clubs but having never played at that "professional" youth level I can't really comment. My coach certainly kept us to certain positions.
  8. Its how I learned to play football in Holland as well when I was younger. Is it not something that Brits are taught by their coaches?!?! Because you make it sound like a novel concept?
  9. i noticed that too, thought i'd keep quiet and hoped no-one would notice
  10. Personally, I'd like to actually reach a final, then we would obviously have a chance of winning it. We haven't made one yet under JC and this really annoys me as the cup draws have actually been quite favourable to us Like ST says, Europe to me is about making revenue and playing teams we wouldn't normally be playing. A trophy is for life and something i really want to remember how it feels like. I didn't really support the Dons when we won our last trophy so would actually like to know what it feels like now that means a lot more than it did back then. So all in all, i agree with what you are saying wee toon red!
  11. Can't disagree with anything he's said there. Problem is we've been there and done that so many times. As I said before, the same excuses can only be used a couple of times. I'm surprised the club has not come out about Jimmy's position i.e. he's got the season to save his job or he has the full backing of the board. I hope WM smashed a few heads against walls/any hard surface after that result.
  12. He has brought us stability and turned us into mediocrity (which is obviously a great step considering where we were). But the next obvious problem is that I and many of us don't think he can take us to that next required step. To a final and/or winning a trophy. The progress that we made under him has flat lined and the fact that he still comes out with the same excuses/reasons/bewilderment everytime we play lesser or lower league opposition I think proves this. It is something he should have worked out by now. Lord knows we've had enough cup upsets.
  13. Well he was certainly as brain dead as Fergahun last night that's for sure!
  14. Completely agree. I forgot to add that bit in really, but that was my point in a roundaboutish way Aluko did look knackered and i'm not surprised. Did a lot of running.
  15. See I don't think it is time to go for a risky manager, but maybe thats just me. Last time we tried it we nearly got relegated (Paterson). Him and Shearer were supposed to be the hottest duo in Scotland and we got them, but it failed miserably. To be honest, I just can't see who we would a) be able to afford b) want.
  16. Can't argue with that, you gonna fund him though? The thing is though, as has been covered on the other thread, I think if Tommy Wright had a) started (with Mackie coming late on to stretch the play if necessary) or b) Wright had come on 40 mins earler, I think it wouldn't have gone into extra time etc. He made a very positive impact when he came on. I just wish JC had seen what was so blatently obvious to us all!
  17. I think he's talking about the first chance we had where Aluko got a flick on from Maguire and crossed it in. I think Mackie should have at least made contact with it. It was a tough chance with the defender putting pressure on him, but I still think he should have got a shot out of it. These things happen though.
  18. I believe it was, Another cup game and another embarrassing cup exit for Aberdeen I left the room at this stage, couldn't bare to watch or hear it again.
  19. I think he's just saying we need a proper striker are you not D_D? It doesn't really have anything to do with penalties, just the absolute lack of shooting or composure shown by our "team".
  20. I was curious as to what he said. I didn't hang around after the penalty debalce, I was pretty much ready to leave as the end of second half of extra time loomed.
  21. I'm sure he saved one the last time we went out on penalties did he not?
  22. He did miss! And we did go out, but I think our fate was already setup by that excuse of a captain. What a pathetic penalty that was!
  23. I agree re: Mair, I thought he didn't do anything wrong at all and was raging when he got subbed (but was later told he was injured) so thats fair enough. I wonder how many folk who actually have tickets will not bother going this Saturday.
