Just watched the highlights, what a finish from Mackie! Maguire was very unlucky as well, and followed it up with a great pass that (despite being offside) Wright should have finished, but hopefully that will come with match fitness. What the hell Mulgrew was doing for the second goal I will never know, have they never heard play to the whistle?!? It certainly sounded like it, Bugle was on full blast! Shame it didn't pay off.

From the radio, it certainly sounded like we started to attack or even get a mention on the radio after Wright came on. I wouldn't be surprised by his lack of confidence since he's been out for months. Hopefully it'll grow in weeks to come and we'll see if we have a player or not.

To be fair though, I think it was just not going to work out for him up at Aberdeen for one reason or another. Our record with injuries is quite rubbish and i'm not surprised he has stayed reasonably injury free and scored a few goals! Its good to see JC using some commonsense withregards to Smith's contract. As we've said before, he really needs to be on a pay as you play contract because its not even bordering ridiculous anymore, its plain silly.

Great draw and I just hope they maintain their professionalism through over the East Fife tie! Need to get that one out of the way and then we'll see where we're going. Slightly concerned as it would appear to be the best kind of draw we could have asked for. I just hope that the team realise that nothing comes easy this time!

I think Langfield is a great keeper for us. I'm certainly not worried about havinghim between the sticks like I was pre "Mallorca-gate". He's upped his game and certainly doesn't appear to take his position for granted. As TF said, I've seen far worse kicking in the SPL this season, I actually think its slightly improved over the years

Agree with the last two posts. I think its a shame he hasn't been allowed to go out on loan and actually make the strikers position his own. He doesn't really get that much chance as a striker but he needs to bulk up and as RDU said, needs to lose this attitude that he's made it. A few big bastards knocking seven shades out of him would do him and his haircut the world of good (sorry Aberdeen_Ladette ) He's not progressed at all and I think that this would have been either the making of him or a reality check for JC that he isn't good enough.

Glad you clarified things there GS! Was getting rather silly! I thought people were gonna start getting tooled up with their crazy wingding symbols and exclamtion marks etc.... I think me and Ajja discussed this a few weeks back that February should make for an interesting month as Hearts have been weakened, Hibs are random and the Arabs have been significantly weakened too. Just need to try and keep a steady ship for the next few weeks and then we'll see where we are! Was going to say the same thing! Finals or semi finals mean nothing unless you are victorious. We have finished above the Arabs every year since JC has been in charge. There really is no argument to be had between the two managers apart from that CL seems to have the better of JC in "head to head" encounters.

I think that my stance lies with both of you. Call it sitting on the fence if you will but I think both ST and Stoney (I feel dirty ). I fully acknowledge that the majority of the players at AFC currently would not have considered signing for the club without JC being at the helm, however there are a number of occassions he does seem to fails to get the best out of them on a consistent basis. We should be aiming for 3rd season in season out AND winning a trophy. I think its got to the stage whereby I would take an 7th place position to get a Scottish Cup. But I do not think that this squad wouldn't be able to achieve both 3rd AND a cup. We clearly have the squad to do this, they just need to apply themselves better. I do not buy this pish that JC spouts at times about his time coming to an end at the club. He is yet to achieve the winning of a trohpy. He has done great things for the club, and I am grateful for this, but he needs to win us a trophy, and then I will not begrudge him a move away from us.

From the highlights I would say Seve, and I actually was wondering how we actually lost that game! As I said this is from watching the highlights so cannot get an accurate assessment of the game! If we'd have taken our chances, we wouldn't have had any bother whatsoever.
