  1. YAASSSS it occured this weekend 3-0 against NAC at home. Thats 4 points back to back. I think thats the most they've amassed all season! Vak G!
  2. Its fucking depressing when you put it like that! I think its a well established fact that the SPL is a vastly overated league in terms of entrance. It is one of the few leagues where you pay a ridiculous amount of money for very little entertainment/value for money. Just curious, why did we sell the rights to a catering company for the food? One thing though, surely lower the cost would increase the amount of people attending games, and therefore in the club shop? I know we've had this debate a billion times before but I don't think I ever found out why we sold the franchise for the catering?
  3. That they do, but they have the knack of actually grinding out results which is highly annoying. I still think 3rd is out of our reach, but 4th is our minimum requirement now.
  4. They better be all guns blazing after their cup final defeat. Though I wouldn't put it past the huns to be shite....
  5. Talk about having your claws out! Things have been pretty quiet on the Gorgie front of late, whats going on! Shame Romanov didn't become president of Lithuania
  6. Was away to post the same topic! Sounds like a good event, anyone from here attend?
  7. Was the next one of Yellowstone on tonight? I saw yesterday's one with the guy who shoveled the snow of the roofs, what a fun job, just playing in the snow for 5 months! The bears were awesome yesterday
  8. Apparently its not the bands who don't choose to play there, but their promoters who obviously want to make the most possibly money from the gig. I got free Franz Ferdinand tickets the other week and saw them at Barrowlands and I was very impressed with the venue. I don't mind the Carling/O2 Academy, but the Barrowlands was special. The downstairs bar is FTW, served within a second during the gig
  9. Completely agree, I think generally we do better away from home (touch wood) though obviously our unbeaten record at home says otherwise. The sooner McDonald is back in the team the better, might we actually see our strongest line up for the first time this season? Motherwell worry me more than Hibs do as they seem to have a bit of momentum about them now, but at the end of the day we just have to hope that the tactics are spot on and things go our way. Its about time this team pulled its fingers out of their respective arses! COME ON YOU REDS!
  10. Sharpie, just remembered a great wee pub with a number of good beers on draught and bottle. The Crown and Kettle. top of Oldham Street, opposite the frog and bucket comedy club. You have to cross Ancoats (road) to get to it, but its a great pub with a burnt out ceiling. Definite football pub so get there in advance and ask there. nice pub. Otherwise, as I said, the Waldorf Hotel (small typical old mans pub) which is off Picadilly street on I think its Gore Street. You'll see it from that walk down from the station on your left hand side anyway. Just fyi, If you fancy some good beer, goto the Oyster Bar on corporation square. The Alpine lager (Samuel Smiths) is both nice and cheap, 1.70! tudor pub that was raised to allow for construction around the area.
  11. Most will do, but do check to make sure there aren't any prem league games on. They were sometimes funny about it when I was there. It was a reason why I started to watch it locally rather than city centre when I lived there.
  12. You shouldn't have a problem as I don't think there are any other important games on are there? Otherwise, Walkabout (just off deansgate). There used to be a sports bar next door to it but it appears to have shut down. There is also the Waldorf (just off the street as you walk down from Picalily station to the gardens. Edit: There is also O'sheas (IRA pub) but they are generally cunts about it and I went there a number of times to be told it was a Smeltic pub. i'll let you know if I think of any others.
  13. Robo, why do you speak such shite? It pissed me off United lost, yes, especially in the manner they did. However, do you for one second actually believe had United actually played to their capabilities you would have been anywhere near scoring a goal? No, and somewhere in your dellusional head you know that to be true. Despite beating the Reds from the right side of the NW, you still languish behind. You deserved to win on Saturday, and fair play to Liverpool, but in my eyes the only result that mattered on Saturday was Aberdeen 1 - Hamilton 0. Blips like the 4-1 we witnessed on Saturday very rarely happen but it happened and United will regroup from this and storm the league from here on in. It just amuses me that you even think Liverpool are a team capable of actually winning the league So how does the tune go, build a bonfire.....
  14. Ignorance excused I just couldn't be bothered to change my name
  15. Very true, but I just felt that it was obvious that Wright was in a better position. I can't fault Aluko for ever having a go because he is one of the few that consistently true to get shots away. With Maguire, I think he was full of confidence, and we know he can put them away from such an angle so i'm sure thats why he didn't pass it to Mackie. Either way, 3 points, whoop whoop
  16. The highlights didn't show up until you posted that link. So cheers! I think I pretty much agree with you there, shame Aluko didn't square it to Wright when he was clearly in a better position. Wright also had a good shout for a penalty, but these things happen. It sounded like Maguire played well and it looks like he was very lively from the highlights. Well done Aberdeen, keep it going!
  17. Haha I live in Glasgow now, but just a) can't afford it and b) can't afford to take that amount of time off from uni I'll just noise up the weegies in my usual style
  18. Congratulations I wish I could make the trek up
  19. Ah jimmy ffs sack the Donstalk board!
  20. Maybe Aluko is getting tired because he's carried the "creative" torch all season? I'm sure once Smith gains some fitness and form we will see the best come out of Aluko as he won't be the sole target anymore and hopefully will give him a bit more freedom (providing he doesn't go back to take on a guy for the sake of it!)
  21. Certainly sounded like a terrible game of football! I think the most important thing confidence wise and points wise was that we got the victory. It keeps us in a shout for third, especially with the Arabs and Hearts losing to. And even more importantly, gets that monkey off our back and hopefully means that we can push on from here. Lets just hope so anyway!
