  1. So the new era (domestically) is upon us. Intrigued to see how we set up, if it’s closer to the first game against the Swedes or something completely different. I suspect not; but hopefully JET is ok? Was mightily impressed with his play in the first leg and definitely struggled in the second. Any news on how he’s holding up? Plenty of weaknesses for good teams to exploit at the mo, but hopefully as the season progresses we can iron them out / mitigate them. tickets for the game were snapped up very quickly, so hopefully the few thousand that are able to attend make a decent racket. out bed bed Bed 2-1 dons, Ramirez and hedges
  2. Only caught the second half but thought the red card was a life line. They were very much in the ascendancy and looked like they had more goals in them. As others have said though, we’re through to face the Icelandic's. Anyone know anything about them? Believe they’re fourth in their respective league and I know some teams from there give others a good game.
  3. I will most definitely paying the exorbitant shipping fee for this one. al, don’t let your reputation beat you down ?
  4. As suspected, it wasn’t just plain blue. I think it looks great
  5. Olympic football has been really entertaining so far

    Coronavirus

Queensland gets good press here, probably Vic slightly less so but I think they along with the SA premiers seem to have done a good job. People first and economies will follow strategy has paid off, certainly has for NZ with ours being stronger than pre covid levels now. Of course no one can afford to buy now but hey Ho ?

    Coronavirus

Certainly most folk here think the UK are on a suicide run. Whilst our vaccination progress has been slow (due to unavailability and sticking with Pfeizer) most people think that our govt have taken the right approach. No one I know envies the UK right now. It's also worth noting that whilst Ozzie have lockdowns at the mo, Sydney's premier is the least sensible of the lot so it's hardly surprising they're fucked.
  8. Bring him back and play him at LB?
  9. Looks like there is some definition on the shirt so hopefully not just a plain blue. It looks sharp imo.
  10. Definitely started this season brighter than we did the last! Strikers: Ramirez - 13 JET - 1 Watkins - 3 Midfielders: Besuijen - 2 Brown - 2 Hayes - 2 Ferguson - 16 Hedges - 5 McLennan - 1 McCrorie - 1 Ojo - 1 Jenks - 2 Defenders: Bates - 1 ConsiGOL - 1 MacKenzie - 1 Ramsay - 1 Goalkeeper: O.G: Edwards - 1
  11. From what I saw (mainly around the Fergie ping) we looked very good and they looked very poor. But promising signs indeed! Be great if this is a sign of things to come.
  12. 4-2 in the end, some good goals! olywhites with their first win in Olympic history, beating South Korea 1-0 courtesy of a chris Wood goal. Deserved it from their second half performance
  13. According to another mate he’s going to be a very good signing and was disappointed we didn’t get him.
  14. Well, that's what you get for not playing Hernandez...
  15. Definitely, he was a terrible on field captain. I'm really hoping that it helps regain his focus and performance levels.
  16. Noticed they said he was team captain and Lewis is club captain? Is this just a PR thing?
  17. Nah, I don't think we've been good enough. McIness was generally shit in Europe. Not taking away that there were a couple of games we were unlucky given the stature of the opposition, but he generally shat the bed. Anyway, can't see us doing anything in this fixture. It doesn't appear we're ready but who knows what's been going on behind the scenes. Like Jute, 3-0, no dons scorer.
  18. But I wouldn’t say that they’ve been a detriment unlike the Dutch system. Dutch footballers are no where near the level they used to be. Van dijk is probably the closest and even then he was pish against us ?
  19. Is there any uefa or fifa regulation that prevents that from happening? Or is it all down to local FAs to actually maintain integrity? If the latter is the case then we’re royal fucked.
  20. Thank fuck. Entirely embarrassing. As someone elsewhere mentioned, the Dutch haven't produced a good footballer since they introduced the colt teams. But then on the flip side, the Spanish have done very well.
  21. Pretty much my thoughts on it too. This "campaign" for Europa Conference qualification is an opportunity to play competitive football before our season starts. Whilst i'm not necessarily happy with things at the club, i'll not be holding them to account for what I presume will be our papping out. I'm willing to be patient.
  22. I see a lot of hissy fits elsewhere about the hacken game and us not being favourites due to this result. Personally, we were never going to be favourites against a team that has already started competitive football. Especially given where we’re at (complete rebuild). I didn’t think we deserved a euro spot anyway so this in my eyes is a bonus competitive pre season match. So much work to do, it’s going to be a tall order to progress IMO. wish I shared your optimism for the season KFP, it’s not something I’m feeling right now!
  23. Absolutely jinxed it. Just rejoined the second half after my commute to work. How's it been so far? Was absolutely cringe hearing the England fans in the stadium sing "it's coming home"
  24. Doesn't really bode well for him given it's taken this long and a token gesture.
  25. It's weird, all of this seems a bit out of character, but I guess we only ever really saw Shay the footballer.
