First of our double header against livi. We all know livi are getting better results than us at the moment . They’re scoring regularly and have had two decent results against the dhims recently. Not having a proper goal scorer is killing our season, and with rumours abound, who knows if sam or Wright will still be with us come weeks end. Hoping we start to see a few more of the youth being played, and subs need to start being used earlier (not holding me breath). Out in martinborough this week. Had hoped to get a few bike rides in but lack of sleep has put an end to that. Managed a 50km loop yesterday though. Think it was already about 25 degrees by 10am. The area is famous for its wine, although most of the bike ride is through farmland.

Tried setting this up yesterday but wifi where we are is patchy at best and didn’t go through . This won’t be a straight forward one, they haven’t lost since they lost to us around the same time in December and obviously got a great result again Hibs. Planning permission for the new ground was granted by Aberdeen City Council in 2018, along with a training complex which opened the following year. However, the Evening Express can now reveal council leaders have launched a bid to convince the Dons to reconsider the move as part of a revised city centre masterplan. Initial talks have taken place between local authority chiefs and the club over the possibility of the Reds building a new stadium close to Pittodrie as part of a wider scheme to regenerate the area around Aberdeen Beach. A council source told the Evening Express the site of the former Hilton DoubleTree hotel on Beach Boulevard, which closed last year, is thought to be the best site. Further discussions are planned, in which city leaders will attempt to convince the club to remain close to its spiritual home. City centre masterplan lead Marie Boulton said: “Aberdeen Football Club is one of our city’s major assets. My preference would always have been for the council to work with the club to allow it to remain in the city centre. “As a city, we want to retain as much vibrancy as possible and the club is a key contributor to that. People come into town and spend their money in local businesses. Matchday is a lifeline for many of the pubs and restaurants in the city. “It is really important that we do not lose sight of how crucial that is to the city.” Ms Boulton added: “The area around Pittodrie is the club’s natural and spiritual home. We are used to seeing generations of the same families walking through the city centre to get to the game and we don’t want those to become mere memories. “We really hope there can be a way forward with this because the club remaining in town would help save the city centre. “It is early days but there is a real willingness on our part to work with Aberdeen Football Club to find a way that works for everyone.” It is understood council chiefs would look to relocate businesses in the area, such as extreme sports facility Transition, to other sites if talks are successful. Local authority officials began exploring the possibility of building a new stadium in the area as early as August last year. Council co-leader Douglas Lumsden said: “It would be great for Aberdeen if the club was able to remain in the city. A lot of businesses were concerned about the impact of a move out of town. “The likes of the golf clubs and Pittodrie Bar would have been heavily impacted, as would a lot of places in the city centre. “It would be a good thing for the city centre as a whole if the stadium was to remain in the beach area.” Last year Dons chairman Dave Cormack admitted the construction of the new stadium could be set back “years” as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. He estimated the financial impact of the virus and the absence of fans since March would cost the club around £8 million – and warned it would have to stop “haemorrhaging cash”. Mr Cormack said: “Is it delayed by one, two or three years? “If you could tell me when crowds are back at Pittodrie, I could give a better estimate. “But the reality is that project is on the back burner because all of our efforts are on getting through this, but with also being able to invest significantly in the football operation and fan engagement programme.” A Dons spokeswoman said: “With Pittodrie earmarked for housing, we are a key stakeholder at the beach. During initial conversations, the possibility of the club being involved in the sports and leisure element was discussed. It’s far too early to make any comment on whether or not this would be progressed by either the club or the council. “We remain committed to a new stadium, sports and community facilities at Kingsford, albeit our plans to progress to the next stage have stalled due to the financial challenges we are facing as a result of the pandemic.”

This was more my point. Regardless of us finishing 2nd that season, it was a shite watch and I lost a lot of respect for McInnes with the way he conducted himself and "managed" the team around those two games. Had nothing to do with it being them, it just lacked professionalism. Things in my eyes, just started to deteriorate from that season. Essentially, when I left the UK to come here (sorry) ? But Milne made him an offer that was too hard to resist, maybe comfort set in then? Not sure what it was. As I've stated either in this thread or another, I would much prefer him to leave us on good terms (i.e. a successful season) than not. Just not sure if he's capable of or got the desire for it.

I see Cosgrove is being linked with Stoke again (according to the Hun). I haven't read the article because of the paper, but I would love that to happen. We're shite up front anyway and he's regressed to what he was like when he arrived. Any money will be good money for him.

Not a fixture we've done well in of late (lost the last two games at Pittodrie) and Motherwell are towards the bottom of the league, so fully expect us to lose this one, either 1 or 3-0 which seems to be a feature of a few of previous results. Our striking issues are there for all to see and the team appears to be a complete mess at the moment. Alluding to Rico's point in the other thread, DM doesn't appear to know what to do with the fringe players and they're not positively contributing to the team's performance. We do also need a few of the other "veterans" to step up and hope our defence isn't complete shite. Club have said the McCrorie's injury isn't as bad as originally feared but will still be out for a number of weeks. Hayes and Taylor both going to be out along with McLennan who has an ongoing foot problem. Not sure why he was on the bench if that was the case, but hey ho. The bit in bold is true but has been a hallmark of this season, or rather, not achieving that. Teams we used to be beating we either now draw or lose to. Especially the lower teams. It has to happen in the summer (ignoring the point I think it should have happened three years ago), but I think the board will have to suck it up as I don't think results are going to be great between now and then. Five months is a long time and if we're looking likely to miss out on Europe, I'd be interested to see how that plays out. We've got the squad we've got now so he really needs to show what he can do. We can't afford to get rid sooner, but I think the results might test the boards resolve. Personally, I hope for an uptick in results, and we can all leave with reputations in tact. I wish the management team no ill will. I'd love for him to go on his own accord and not ask the club for money, but can't see that happening (it is well within his rights).

Seasons gone by, i'd be looking forward to playing bottom of the table in the knowledge that it would most likely be 3 points. This season however, that has gone out the window. They're shite, changed managers, despite that, they nearly scored shree goals against hibs. I'd hate to be the team that provided them with that. Really hope that DM doesn't persist with this Main and Cosgrove shite. It doesn't work, it's never worked and never will work. Get one of them some proper service and see what happens.
