Agreed, he should have scored from that header, but still, it would do his confidence no end of good just getting a full half for Scotland, Fingers crossed he can stick it to the Huns on sat. Incidentally, anyone know of any Hun pubs in Glasgow that would be showing the game? Can't afford to goto the game so figure it would be the next best thing

Mackie’s tipped to be Dons goal ace
manc_don replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Next Michael Owen I heard In all seriousness though, as much as I dislike him, we have seen the best of him under JC. He has the knack of scoring important goals for us and he does play for the jersey which can't be said for most players these days. If he only he scored a few more goals he'd be a very good player for us. -
Completely agree! He was a waste of a substitution! Everything he touched went wrong to the extent where he even make Clubfoot look good! I was praying for Ferguson's hamstring to tweak when he was being substituted, alas it didn't happen
-
Thought he played well, they seemed to have at least two players on him all the time though. A good few touches and a decent blocked shot! Well done Lee

Completely agree with you there Ajja, but I didn't think the team had been booed off recently? Especially in the past week? Every set of home fan because agitated and restless when their team are drawing or losing to a team they shouldn't be. Part of the job and whilst I agree that booing isn't doing any good, its up to them to show that they are trying to rectify it by doing the business on the park. Fans won't boo if they see effort and results, which are our minimum requirements.

I have to wait to see the highlights from yesterday to see how daft and deep we were defending. I still can't get over it but as soon as we went 2-0 up I had flashbacks of when were were 3-1 up with some 20 mins to go last season. So I guess I wasn't surprised, just pissed off Despite yesterday's result, I'm not overly concerned about playing the Huns next sat. I have no idea why, because we should be getting humped with the way our defence is at the moment. But I think its mainly because the players will raise their game against the scum and shouldn't be as nervous And the huns themselves are pathetically weak at the moment, I mean, even St Mirren scored against them, so our players should take confidence from that.....

Any news of Calderwood having a bust up with Aluko at the end of the game? According to MAD he went on the pitch and had a go at him for not going down for the peno and not tracking back for the corner. All speculation obviously.

1 Celtic 13 21 34 2 Rangers 14 21 33 3 Hearts 143 -2 23 4 Dundee Utd 14 3 22 5 Kilmarnock 14 -6 19 6 Aberdeen 14 -1 18 7 Motherwell 14 -3 17 8 Falkirk 14 -2 16 9 Hibernian 14 -6 16 10 Inverness CT 14 -6 14 11 St Mirren 14 -7 12 12 Hamilton 13 -12 10 Really was two points lost, especially with the arabs losing

Sadly, thats the truth of it! I actually predicted 2-2 but thought it wasn't possible for us to throw away a 2 goal lead at Easter road AGAIN. Christ sake, as GD said, how could we lose possession for a goal kick in the last 30 secs......
-
I can't handle this. Falkirk have beaten Motherwell 1-0. Fucks sake
-
If only he'd gone down! St. Mirren scored at Snakemountain
-
I know! Who would have thought it! Come on Aberdeen, learn from the previous corner!
-
Did they just say Mair is in Midfield?!?! madness I tell ye. Come on Aberdeen! Bloody hell, that was a lucky escape!
-
Its what worries me!
-
Really need to hold on for this. It sounds quite open now, end to end.
-
Did Langfield save that? Or was it sheer luck that it went wide? Sounds like the game is coming to life now! Edit: Killie 2 up an all! All we need is a Caley equaliser and us to hold on obviously! :fingerscrossedsmilie:

To be honest BB, we were really in it, but I wouldn't say Hibs were over us, it has been a very scrappy game so far. They just had more opportunities in the final third, Riordan missed a very good opportunity and it apparently clipped the post. Still though, I'm happy enough Mackie is off Must have got a knock
-
I like your style There shouldn't be much stoppage time should there?

Happy days! Well done Dazza! COME ON YOU REDS!

EE: Dons star Maguire in plea to face Hibs
manc_don replied to manc_don's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Completely agree, there is no way any other striker could warrant either Mackie or Miller being dropped for them. Incidentally, what have Maguire's performances been like for the reserves? -
No surprise there then!

Dons star Maguire in plea to face Hibs Teen striker ready to prove himself Published: 15/11/2008 frustrated: Chris Maguire. More Pictures DONS striker Chris Maguire wants the chance to prove he can lead the attack today – and pile on more misery for Hibs. The 19-year-old is frustrated he has been left to warm the bench this season. Buoyed by a debut Scotland Under-21 call, Maguire is desperate to prove his worth at Easter Road. He said: “This season has been so frustrating because I have been on the bench for most of the games. “I would have liked a lot more starts because I know I can score goals. “My last start was towards the beginning of the season, so it was a boost to be named in the Scotland U-21 squad. “All I can do is work hard in training and keep scoring goals for the reserves which I have been doing. “I want the chance to play Hibs as I have always played well against them and received praise from the gaffer for that. “If that break comes along today I am ready to grab it with both hands. “Hibs have lost their last couple of games at home, so we have to go down there looking for three points. “I want to give them another defeat, and hopefully I can get the chance to play a part in that.†Struggling Hibs have not won a game since they overcome the Dons 2-1 at Pittodrie on October 4. In contrast Aberdeen have enjoyed a mini-revival to break into the top six. And Maguire reckons they will never have a better chance of leaving Easter Road with three points. “Every time we play Hibs it is always very close,†he said. “Aberdeen should have beaten them last time at Pittodrie as we created much more chances, we just couldn’t take them. “It is vital we put that right at Easter Road and capitalise on our good play. “On their day Hibs can be a really good team who pass the ball well, but we know Aberdeen can beat them. “It is up to us to go out there today and prove that by scoring goals and moving up the SPL table.†A 2-1 midweek win over St Mirren elevated Aberdeen up into fifth place in the SPL, just five points behind Dundee United in third. And after tasting European football with the Dons last season Maguire is out to overhaul United - and secure a UEFA Cup berth. “We must beat Hibs today to start a run of form,†he said. “The lads were happy to get into the top six after the win over St Mirren, but we want more. “We want to move higher and higher up the league, and take that third spot.â€
