  1. Haha I'd forgotten about that. Nevertheless, glad to see you can keep perspective of these events A few folk on Mad are calling/debating whether or not Kerr should be given the captaincy! Some turn around after most people had written him off at the start of the season. Does this mean Jimmy C can get the best out of players? Shirley not
  2. You still drunk Jager? I'll have whatever you're on 8 points between us and the hun b squad. If we keep a steady team we should claw that back. It felt good last night to be celebrating a win again, lets hope its one of many!
  3. Or not, currently 2-0 up against the filth!
  4. Young keen to sign a new contract at Pittodrie midfielder was unaware of being booed by supporters By Michael Gannon Published: 29/11/2008 LOOKING FOR A RESULT TODAY: Aberdeen’s Derek Young. Kevin Emslie More Pictures Aberdeen midfielder Derek Young will not require much persuading should the Dons give him the opportunity to sign a new contract at Pittodrie. Young is one of several players, including Scott Severin, Jamie Smith, Lee Mair and Jeffrey de Visscher, whose deals expire at the end of the season. Although talks have yet to start, he is keen to stay. The 28-year-old is in his second spell with the Dons and not even the jeers from some supporters in the 2-0 victory against St Mirren a fortnight ago will put him off remaining in the north-east. He said: “I have not spoken to anyone about my contract situation. I am sure if the club offers the out-of-contract players new deals there will not be any problems. There certainly will not be a problem with me. “Two years ago I was at Partick Thistle and I was not enjoying my football so much. “The difference at Pittodrie has been incredible and, although the team has not been playing as well this season, I am still loving it. Whatever new contract comes along, I'm pretty sure there will not be any hassle on my part. “I did not realise I was getting booed until I saw it in the newspaper the following day. It was news to me but I shout and scream at the television when things are not going right so I am not going to criticise anyone. “The supporters were frustrated because we were not steamrollering St Mirren but we were frustrated also. “I have never had a problem with the supporters at Aberdeen, the only time I can remember getting any stick was when I came back with another club. “I was in and out of the team for a while and I was frustrated because I was not playing as well as I would have liked. Now I am looking to getting myself back to my best form.†Young was impressive in last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Rangers and, while the result was disappointing, he is looking for a similar performance against Motherwell at Pittodrie today. He said: “It is frustrating for everyone to put so much into games and get nothing. “It sounds good to say you kept Pedro Mendes and Barry Ferguson quiet for long spells but the end result meant all the hard work was for nothing. It does show though that it can be done and there are a lot of positives we can take from it.â€
  5. Surprisingly I'd agree with that. But its clear for all to see that this has been a problem, but a good start was signing Aluko on a permanent deal. I also think Kerr was a good signing and have hopes for Macdonald in the future. But we haven't replaced Hart and Anderson which are two key areas. Hodgkiss is all very well in the short term, but we need our own right back. I'm still unsure whether or not Seve deserves a place in the team after how he's played for a few years now. I certainly don't want him at the back, but I he definitely doesn't have the pace for the midfield anymore. But then we have the problem of who would replace him, as no-one else has any real bite in the midfield.
  6. Difficult one to call this one, both teams seem to be a bit indifferent in form at the moment. Think it will be a really right game but hopefully Mackie will come off the bench and score the winner! Come on you Reds! Now is the time to get a run going!
  7. To be fair to him, he doesn't always post shite
  8. Most definitely, as he is CV driven and was why I said he would want to leave on a high when his stock would be up the most (such as after a cup win). I don't think he'd get much bigger than us, but obviously he'd get a fair bit of extra cash to play with not only for his team but for himself.
  9. Yes and no. The majority of our league performances were bad last season but we still managed to finish strongly. Last season was exactly why I support Aberdeen, can take you from dispair to extacy and dispair all in a matter of a football match. The highs are great and the lows are horrendous but I wouldn't have had it any other way last season. Obviously I would have loved to have got to a final and won a trophy, but I wouldn't swap anything for what I experienced last season. I had an argument with a Tim about JC this week, he hates him because he is one of the vermin and spouts blood about JC's obvious blue nosed tendancies. I then asked him who he thought would come to Aberdeen and do a better job. He ran a list all of which I disagreed with. I still stand by this and unless we finish lower than we did last season I don't see why JC won't remain, in my eyes at least the man for the job.
  10. Completely agree. I'm pretty hopeful that we'll finish in the top 4 despite predicting we'd finish 5th at the start of the season. Mid season is no the time to change managers. Especially one that has ensured us good finishes at the end of each season. I don't have a lot of time of JC, but I want him to succeed at the club and know if he keeps his head screwed on he could be successful.
  11. I think the two players I was sad to leave were Ryan Strachan (after receiving his award a few months earlier) and Ryan O'Leary. Both moved on for non footballing reasons so I can't hold anyone at the club responsible for that. No other players have moved onto "greater things" and neither have these two, yet, at least.
  12. Aye seen that this morning as well. I don't think that it would be the right time to leave. If his argument was that he'd taken us as far as he could, then that doesn't say much about him. I'm guessing he'd like to go out on a high as it would look better on his CV, but surely he could see that he could take us further than that. At least consistently finish at least 3rd and get to cup finals, top 6 finishing doesn't cut it for me. Does he have a lack of faith in his own ability?
  13. Think he's one of the Faroese(?) Players
  14. We need a keeper and a right winger in Jan at least!
  15. I agree with you except the feeling better now than I did a month ago. A month ago I had far more optimism than I do now. I was confident we would be 3rd by some point in December, but i'm not so sure now. Its nice to see us playing well, we just really need to concentrate more. What was the most frustrating thing about Saturday was that we weren't bossed out the game and lost to yet again, two shite moments of concentration in defence. I know the team have the ability, I just hope Calderwood doesn't change it up for the sake of changing it up.
  16. I think that quote alone is what sums up Jimmy Calderwood. Its bloody annoying.
  17. Charlie Adam should be hung from the rafters for what he did. Clear intent and went for Sone. Usually I would say how it would be surprising that none of the officials picked it up, but then again, it was snake mountain, it was the huns, i'm not surprised.
  18. Its on Al Jazeera sport. You have a PM.
  19. Thats hun "class" for you
  20. Quite excited about this game. Don't know why, probably another one of many lapses in my realistic state of mind. Come on you reds! Jager you have a PM.
  21. Not sure if this should be here or in the general football forum but nevermind.
  22. Good man! Cheers And cheers FJ for the back up plan!
  23. Agreed, he should have scored from that header, but still, it would do his confidence no end of good just getting a full half for Scotland, Fingers crossed he can stick it to the Huns on sat. Incidentally, anyone know of any Hun pubs in Glasgow that would be showing the game? Can't afford to goto the game so figure it would be the next best thing
