Ryan Jack was MOTM for me. McArdle and Diamond looked a solid partnership as did Hartley & Fyvie. Hartley looks a class above the rest of our side and I dont think there can be many worries over his fitness after he lasted the 90mins and had a few good runs forward with the ball. Made the keeper pull off a good save from a free kick and then set up Considines header with another good free kick.
When Folly came on he was too often standing right next to Hartley when Hartley had the ball. We might struggle with playing them together.
Considine did well at left back and put in a few good crosses.
Vernon was absolute horse shit and Magennis was just bashing into people, giving away endless fouls. Paton didnt play particularly well while Pawlett had a couple of runs but as expected isnt really fit.
Young, Mackie and Maguire were...as expected.
Any quotes in the full version?
In McGhees preferred 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation you have Vernon, Magennis and Mackie who can play at the "lone" striker and then you have Maguire, Paton, Megginson, Aluko and Pawlett who can play in the wide positions.
Looking at that you would think Mackie is the one who will be used least, but his experience and versitility might save him and see one of the younger ones go out on loan. I'm not a fan of Maguire at all and would like to see him go out again. Paton has shown he can do a job for us already and Megginson has been impressive in pre-season so I would like to see him given a chance in our first team this season. I can't see Magennis going out on loan having just come in and it would leave us with no "target man" cover if Vernon was out injured/suspended.
He posted that about 5 minutes before the RedTV stuff went up with McGhee and Miller still talking about Williams and Basey offers/signings.
Certainly not talking like the budget was all used up.
Lazy is one of the things Kerr was not. He'd run around all day winning the ball, it's just that when he got the ball he was unable to find a teammate so was off running after the ball again.
