Bad idea but nice to see someone looking at other ways of changing the league other than sticking some extra teams in it from the league below.
Hopefully it'll spark a wider discussion.
Needs to be sold in January if he hasnt signed within the first week. By then he'd have had plenty time to get an idea of what other clubs are interested and what they are offering.
This season can be written off. There's no point holding onto him for 6 months and missing out on a (small) fee. Foster is a capable left back (as shown again on Saturday) and we have other players in the squad who can take set pieces.
One thing I always noticed when he was at Motherwell was the tracking back of the wide strikers.
Getting Bebo and Aluko to do that may be a problem though with their attitudes.
One thing I noticed at Falkirk was that all 3 stikers were switching positions all the time and this was causing us more problems than Falkirk. We cant really do that with Lee Miller incolved as he's not mobile enough. We need to either get the two wide players to stay wide or drop Miller.
Because the Fat Postie has got wind of it and it's on their website and late editions of today's paper.
EE story makes it out that he's done a runner while the AFC story is a bit more diplomatic. "Misunderstanding" just leaves it open for Sone to apologise privately and the whole affair to be swept away.
Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee today confirmed Sone Aluko has joined up with the Nigeria Under 20 squad, at their Spanish training camp, for the forthcoming World Cup in Egypt, without the permission of the club.
Speaking to RedWeb the Dons boss said: "In fairness there may have been a bit of a misunderstanding. "We're in contact with the Nigerian FA and are insisting that Sone returns to Pittodrie to be fully assessed by our medical staff before we decide whether we will give him permission to take part in the tournament."
It's not the clubs fault if you believe the crap the EE prints.
Sure they sometimes have quotes, but the quotes rarely match the headline/main point of the story.
U20 World Cup runs from 21st Sept to 16th Oct so i imagine he'll be gone after the Falkirk game.
There is an Afircan Nations Cup this season but I dont think Aluko will get picked unless he really impresses in the U20 WC.
Vidal was Hodgkiss' replacement though so it's a bit stupid counting them as 2 players lost.
Bossu, Vidal, Smith, Severin, JDV and Mair out
Nelson, Crawford, Pawlett, Fyvie, Grassi and Ifil in.
Last time we did that we won 2-1
The youth team visited this place a few days ago. There was a thing on Redweb about it. It mentioned that the facility would help our youth setup training during the winter but didnt mention anything about the first team using it.
I imagine they would use it when the outdoor pitches are fooked instead of using Strikers.
After watching the first goal again I think Langfield is at fault. Sure, it's a hoor of an unlucky bounce off Fortune to McGeady's foot but there was no need to Langfield to come out to Fortune. He was wide enough to be covered by the defender there. Maybe shows a lack of confidence in his defence by Langfield.
Other than that though he played well. As did Paton.
McDonald, Mulgrew, Maguire and Duff were woeful and I hope McGhee hooking Duff before half time is a sign that he isn't scared to drop these players when they play shite.
