  1. Nicholson, Miller and Maybury were part of the team that most people are slating for their performance on Saturday (and recently in general). Why do you want them to sign? God AFC fans are fickle. I agree with chunk too. Yeah I was disappointed, I'd have loved a final, but I wouldn't have loved getting pumped 5-0 by Rangers unless we somehow made an effort for the first time in 5 months. People are taking this way too seriously in my opinion, it's not our worst result ever. If this happened in the first round, aye, maybe, but it was a semi final where effort and desire is more important than skill, they wanted it more, simple. We got beaten 4-3, not 4-0, 2-0, 7-0. It was close, they scored and we came back 3 times, given we're not prolific goalscorers that's quite good. At least we didn't completely crumble after the first goal and did try to fight back. Someone keeps trying to tell me it was worse than the CIS semi. Well, no I don't think it was. That team didn't even try to fight back, just sat back and accepted it. Might not feel like we did on Saturday but the goals suggest otherwise. I may have to avoid reading posts about the game for a while...I can't imagine what Hat is like just now. And if we got back into Europe there's no guarantee we'd qualify for the groups again, we'd probably get pumped by some Latvian team and then we'd be back where we are now.
  2. If the linesman hadn't flagged for offside when Maguire was a yard onside at 1-1 maybe it would be different....
  3. I expect his experience was meant to bring some stability to the team rather than him slotting into Anderson's playing position.
  4. I went for 6...not sure by which combination.
  5. I don't really agree with booing in the first place, but there was no need to boo McNamara off. How fucking fickle are Aberdeen fans in that they cheered Mackie on when 2 months ago they were booing him on. There were some right idiots at the game on Saturday, including a guy who was shouting Jimmy GTF throughout the game and raged at Aluko because he didn't let the ball go out for a corner and crossed it back in.
  6. One Hun asked me if I had a nice day on Saturday and I told him I had, thanks for asking. That's it.
  7. I always thought he got a hard time from certain areas of our support, but £200k was a good deal.
  8. But we didn't sell Clark for peanuts. Hart is still injured, so wouldn't be playing anyway. And if anyone here believes that Clark would be the difference to losing 2 semi finals and scraping top 6, then I'd be very surprised.
  9. I suspect ST was fishing by saying that we got peanuts for Clark when everyone was amazed we got £200k for him. We still miss him though.
  10. Fishy fishy?
  11. I refer you to Jamie Langfield and our shocking defence at the turn of the year. Partick are pish, maybe. Our defence is pish, on Saturday's performance, yes. By that logic we could have any goalkeeper in goals and it'd make no difference.
  12. What I've said, apart from my lack of detail about the goals. Maybury was also at fault for 4th goal as he got sucked in leaving Stewart unmarked.
  13. Surprised I never heard you on Saturday....
  14. You're right, I don't think we'll get 3rd.
  15. Funny though, because few people seem to acknowledge this and seem to feel McNamara is an appropriate outlet to blame. He was no worse than any other player on the park and I thought the booing was a bit harsh. But then the expectation people have of him is clearly of the standard he was at in his prime, whereas he's 33/34 and clearly isn't the same player. At fault for goals I'd have said - Diamond, Considine and Maybury, although I didn't watch the highlights very closely and didn't see the build up to the first goal.
  16. Seve in November/December? Maybe we should do that again.
  17. I'll probably end up renewing since I'll be in Aberdeen but might consider it a bit more as I'll have to pay proper money to see us play now. If I didn't buy one I'd probably end up going to as many pay at gate games as a season ticket would cost anyway...
  18. I'm sure I saw him let in 6 v Gretna last season. If we signed him people would soon be on his backs cos his pedigree is no better than that of Langfield and Soutar when we signed them.
  19. I got 16. But I guess the ones I didn't choose are the dross that I'd rather replace with a higher standard of dross so they could at least compete with our overpaid dross and give them a kick up the backside.
  20. He put himself before the team a number of times yesterday because he was too scared of getting a yellow card and missing the final. I would say for that he appears to be less committed than we thought. If he hadn't been one yellow away from being suspended I am sure he'd have done things differently in the lead up to the goal(s).
  21. I suspect that despite being shattered that my lack of drinking since 7am has made me more reasonable than some.
  22. While I am disappointed with the result I also appear to be the most realistic here. Okay, we should be able to beat QoS with our team, but look at our season? We've been erratic all the time, and have had two good performances v Copenhagen and Bayern. Other than that, we've not been very good in more than one game in 10. Hardly surprising really. It's not like we outplayed Celtic to get here either, just scored the necessary one goal more than them. Anyway, agree choice of substitutes was possibly ill advised. However, although I've not seen the highlights, I reckon the fact that Diamond was trying not to get booked possibly contributed to the poor defending and maybe one of the goals. He put himself ahead of the team which suggests that maybe I'm wrong in backing him for captain. Soutar is just not a decent goalkeeper. No communication, stayed on his line most the time. Langfield is better than him but we still need someone better. At the end of the day though, Jimmy has had £500k to spend in 4 years. That's not his fault. He's done his best on free signings and got us some good players, some of them maybe haven't lived up to our expectations for various reasons, but at the time we were happy to sign Lovell/Severin/McNamara etc. Despite our history etc these are just the times we live in, we need money to progress from here. Finally, this was always potentially going to happen. Queens were underdogs, incredibly up for it and were always going to work harder than us. It's just like how Barnsley beat Liverpool and Chelsea. These things happen. We need to move on and build a new team for the future now. PS. We had no luck today, at all. 2 penalty claims and Diamond hitting the post and crossbar. They had a bit of luck.
  23. They must be Huns.
  24. What did you do?
  25. You're all in the £22 seats anyway Padre. Tight fisted Aberdonians...
