Everything posted by Mackie's ace!

  1. First thing as commentary came through... "Soutar...flapping!" Great.
  2. You know what I'm on about manc.
  3. Okay statto geeks. Give me the defensive line ups for each of those games, including subs. Bet you it wasn't the same for each one. I want some consistency to give the defence a chance. Not changing every game/20 minutes.
  4. Maguire's on the bench?
  5. Glad I didn't make an effort to go today. Although got a lot of work on was tempted as I've been to every Dons game at Rugby Park since 04/05 season. I've seen some shite games right enough.
  6. No idea. Honestly don't think our defence needing changing from Thursday even though we lost 5 goals. It was Bayern after all, not Brechin. Certainly don't agree with dropping Langfield when the other option is Derek 'I don't want to play for the club' Soutar. And obviously our wonderful striking partnership of Mackie and Miller should remain untouched.
  7. Dropping Langfield is a bit different to bringing Mair in for Considine or whatever the hell he's done.
  8. Team: Soutar, Duff, Diamond, Maybury, Mair, Foster, Nicholson, Severin, Mackie, Miller, Walker. Discuss. Langfield, Aluko and Considine dropped to bench, Lovell, Maguire, De Visscher and Bus with them. Do we really need to change our entire defensive line again?
  9. Unnecessary in my opinion.
  10. Hmm...sure they're not on the wind up? Continuing on rumours, Langfield dropped today?
  11. Miller's not injured, he won't drop him!
  12. Well this is the Bayern match thread so you can see why I thought it was about UEFA. I dislike Toni too.
  13. Maybe, but Mackie's shiteness when he's through on goal is nae exactly Jimmy's fault, other than he chose him to play. They would still have won though.
  14. Did you really expect us to beat a team when our attacking ability came from people like Mackie, Miller, two 18 year olds, Nicholson, Severin (questionable) and they had Toni, Podolski, Klose, etc?? I'd have love to have won, but at the end of the day it was never going to happen at the Allianz, I'm just glad they got us a draw at the home game for us to be proud of our achievements this season.
  15. At this point of the season, we have played 10 games more than we did last season. Sorry, 11 with Scottish cup.
  16. I would give 100%. I would also be better than Darren Mackie.
  17. One of my friends last night was trying to say that Esson was a better keeper than Langfield. That I do not believe whatsoever, particularly if he couldn't get a game for Shrewsbury. I also do not think Langfield is the reason we lost 5-1. They would've scored 5 goals anyway as they are a better team. I would rather we got a good defence sorted out as it would be more likely to stop regular thrashings like that.
  18. I'm not denying they are a far better team than us, just from the point of view of ignorant individuals. If you read some of the comments on the live text thing on BBC, very few (if any) really gave any credit to Aberdeen. Like the Huns in one of my classes yesterday going on about how we were 'going to get pumped', 'only won one game in Europe', etc. People will just look at the score and think 'oh look, Aberdeen getting horsed by another team, what's new'. My father is probably included in that statement!
  19. He has scored 1 goal this season. For someone who is our 'main' striker (allegedly), regardless of injuries, that's terrible. Lovell, I imagine, has still played less time over the season purely cos Jimmy doesn't like him and yet managed to get a goal today 10 minutes after coming on. Just getting a bit infuriated with this petty striker thing that's going on. I don't care if Lovell is leaving and Mackie isn't, you have to play with our most effective striking partnership at all times. Anyway, this isn't for the Bayern thread cos I don't want to take away from our great European run this season!
  20. Agree with Ajja. Don't think we played badly, if either of Mackie's opportunities had been goals then who knows if it would've been a different story. 5-1 reflects a little unfairly, but we know they are a much more experience team than us and I think we did ourselves proud (as proud as you can). 7-3 isn't bad on agg, and we scored more goals than Rangers did in last 32 yet they go through! I really hope after tonight though that Jimmy gets over his issues with Lovell and starts him ahead of Mackie. Mackie is NOT the answer.
  21. As there doesn't seem to be a match thread for this yet. No idea of the team, but it's two hours to kick off and I'm beginning to get excited! COME ON YOU REDS! (I also really hope Rangers lose tonight so we can say we were in Europe longer than them regardless of the result! )
  22. Hmm, where's that itchy chin smiley?!
