I'd take the £500k. While I sympathise with Hart wanting to be paid fairly, he's been offered a testimonial while not actually due one and some big opportunities with the club certainly this season. Why should they? Never see anyone promoting things around Glasgow Uni - you'd think Partick in particular would given there are student halls on their doorstep. Yes it might be a good opportunity but at the end of the day half of the people there probably support Rangers anyway and are unlikely to add 1000 onto the attendance at every game.

We can't afford it is the simple answer. At the end of the day I'd rather be supporting Aberdeen in 20 years time than Aberdeen United who are in the 2nd division. And at the end of the day, other clubs in the SPL outwith the OF and Hearts can't afford it either, so we'd still only be at the same level as them (which we are now).

I agree that we will miss some of them, however we can't afford to pay them what they clearly want. End of discussion as far as AFC are concerned.
