I don’t think he is a joke figure and he certainly isn’t John Hughes. Hughes can’t get a gig in football now whereas warnock’s still going at 75 so it’s unfair to suggest there’s any similarity. In general though, is it fair to say you’ve got concerns about the process and what it says about the club in general more so than Warnock specifically? There are a couple of other posters who I’d say go beyond that level of concern into what comes across as a visceral hatred of the guy and I’m genuinely wondering where that comes from. Is it because he might be a bit brexity? The alleged (irrelevant) Hun links? Something else?

Excellent post. I’m honestly unclear as to what specifically about Warnock has got a couple on here quite so angry.

Been out and about with the kids most of the day so catching up now. What’s this about a review of the whole club using “elite performance consultants”?

Agree on Clarke. Never happening, even if he left the national team he wouldn’t end up here. No mess yet tho, the Lennon stuff is media and bookie speculation so not worth worrying about.

If Robson is wrong then he's a symptom of the actual problem rather than the problem itself. Changing manager is another sticking plaster until the structure of the club is changed. Forgive the obvious analogy but we're kinda similar to Man Utd in that regard and against that backdrop I don't think it's particularly fair to heap all the blame on a manager in his first job.

Like a new signing

Unless relegation becomes an issue - which it won't this season - I'm a believer in giving a manager a full season to see how things play out, rather than react in periods of relative isolation. Especially when your manager is young and/or inexperienced. It's a big if, but beat Dundee tomorrow and we're six points off fourth. With the memory of how the second half of last season panned out, sacking a manager who did alright in Europe, has been in one cup final already and is still challenging for a European place could be viewed as mental or, more realistically, just repeating the same old pattern that has failed us since McInnes came to the end of his time. I'm aware I'm in a minority here but I'm ok with zooming out and taking a longer term, big picture view and giving Robson getting the rest of this season to see how he fares.

1 up front isn’t an issue as long as you get plenty support up and with McGrath in the team that’s highly likely. The lack of actual wide players is definitely problematic though.
-
Keeper, two centre backs, two full backs, all the central midfielders and miovski. The right team based on the squad we’ve got but we’re crying out for wingers.
-
Mikey Johnston would be a good signing if it was permanent and not another loan. I don't think it's realistic though as he's an international and I reckon would get offered more money elsewhere. If we go to four at the back permanently then I don't think we need a right back as we've an abundance of centre backs, so using Gartenmann and Milne to cover for Devlin should be fine. Not like we've got too many games where we'd need to rotate the team either. As Rico says, width is what we need if we're going 4-5-1 from now on.

Dadia confirmed as being away back to his parent club.

Sixth when he was hired, 20th now. A joke of an appointment and if you were a Birmingham fan you’d be wanting the clown(s) who appointed him gone as well.

Getting ready for his big move north next week…

League Cup final: Aberdeen v Rangers

Exactly that. For all most people - probably justifiably - complain when players throw themselves to the ground at the tiniest of contact, they've really got to if they won't get the decision if they don't. Poor officiating is the cause but Gartenmann should have gone down yesterday and given the officials as decision to make. -
He's also shite so that's surely got to be taken into consideration?

The pricing is horrendous. They know there are enough brain dead bigots to pay whatever they ask so the rest of us have to suffer the consequences. Citing segregation as contributory factor in the allocation is also bollocks as there have been Scottish Cup finals with a 50/50 split. -

That’s a penalty in every country bar Scotland (excluding the home penalty boxes at ibrox and parkhead).

He's here until Christmas anyway... a cup semi is acceptable - albeit the bare minimum - and we're a game in hand away from 4th place. Against the backdrop of basically a whole new team and the distraction of Europe then he's doing alright, if not exactly setting the world on fire.
-
I'd agree with your thinking in principle but if we can't find or afford a decent experienced manager, who are we getting to be the young guy's boss? Craigie Broon was the man for the job and probably did it with McInnes but who's kicking about like that now and - probably most importantly - does Cormack know where to find them?
-
Fuck var and fuck football. What’s the point in any of it?
-
Ibrox in particular is 100 times the stadium Hampden is. Better accessibility, better potential to create an atmosphere and a better view of the game. I’d still knock the fucker down in a heartbeat tho…

That's a joke, especially with three weeks' notice.

Roos gartenmamn ruby Jensen devlin shinnie clarkson mcgrath mcgarry duk miovski Can’t be far off our strongest team, you could debate McDonald for ruby and one of the new boys for duk but otherwise it’s about as good as we could put out. No excuses today. COYR.
