  1. Just because you cannot make the game no reason not to start a match thread Manc. This could be a difficult game especially on their plastic pitch. Their home record is decent so we will need to be better than we were in 2nd half on Wednesday. Not sure what the injury situation is but hope we go with an attacking a line up as possible. Initial allocation is sold out and club has confirmed their will be a cash gate. In A pub in roundaboutville somewhere Away end Train back to capital 2-0 May double
  2. Really hope we stick with 2 upfront as do think that is main reason that we are getting goals in last few games and neither May or Cosgrove looks capable of playing the loan striker role. If Lowe is injured would like to see Shinnie going back to left back with Gleeson going in beside Ferguson in the middle of the field as he offers more than Ball in an attacking sense. Dims have the annoying habit of winning important games especially when teams get close to them. Have a horrible feeling that will be repeated tomorrow especially if we set up defensively. In (hopefully) Lift up the road Y Lift back to capital 1-2 with May getting Dons goal.
  3. Hoban is due back in January but given his track record with injury and fact he is a centre half I would not want just to rely on him.
  4. Always the danger when using the loan market. As him going back was always a possibility I would hope we another player lined up as a replacement and do not plan to try and muddle through with Considine at left back until the end of Season.
  5. Facing a far better quality of team this weekend than we did in last couple of games and surprised by number of Dons fans who are convinced that we will win easily again. Expecting a much tougher game myself with Hearts players wanting to show they are not as bad as their capitulation to Livingston suggested. That said we have a confident winning team so no changes to team that started against Dundee for me. Can see this being 1-0 either way. Fucked up personally on this one as forgot to book the train so going to cost £50 plus now if I decide to go. ETA - Going to get a supporters bus up. In Bus and hopefully time for a pint Y Bus back to capital. 1-0 McGinn
  6. Both to Sunderland was rumour going round at game on Saturday.
  7. Loath to change a winning team but as others have said I do think both Shinnie and Ferguson's form have dipped in recent weeks and Ferguson especially could probably do with a rest. Would like to see Forrester and/or Gleeson get starts as we need to find out now if either is going to contribute this season. Would keep May and Cosgrove as a pair up front for this one as do not see Dundee as any better than St Mirren so they should get some joy again although Dundee's defenders did handle Cosgrove easily back in August. Oot as public transport is shite in this country if you want to travel after 9pm. Work Flat Flat 2-0 May and McGinn
  8. Professional performance in dreadful conditions. As others have said Cosgrove Logan and May all had good games however St Mirren are fucking awful so not reading to much into that. Been in the house 3 hours now but jacket, hat and gloves are still soaking.
  9. Get the impression BT are pulling back on their Sports coverage as well. Suspect Sky will hover this up like they did the NBA.
  10. As Al says above unless Devlin is fit we should be going with the team that started 2nd half on Tuesday night. St Mirren have been the worst team I have seen in the league this season and we should be going after them from the start even though this is their home game. If we can win the next two games it should hopefully give us the momentum and confidence to take on Hearts and Celtic. In Train then beers in town as Alamo is no more. Away end Train back to Capital 3-0 May McGinn and McLennan
  11. Never saw that coming when we went 2-1 down. Great result now need to replicated that 2nd half performance for 90 minutes against Dundee, St Mirren and Hearts.
  12. Team is Lewis Logan Lowe Considine McKenna Shinnie Ferguson McGinn Wright May Cosgrove.
  13. That’s their level of whataboutery there Rico. We should be taking the correct action which is making it clear that racism has no place in our support. What Celtic did previously is immaterial.
  14. That sort of violence is common place in Argentina with the authorities to weak/corrupt to do anything about it. Remember they had already banned away fans from both games due the potential for violence. Moving the game was correct response although think it should have gone to another South American country rather than the capital of the old colonial masters. Boca are appealing the decision to move the game to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. They want the tie awarded to them. Different subject but agree with your comments about racist clown from the cup final. Club should be making it known whoever it was is not welcome at Pittodrie nor is anyone who shares their views.
  15. If and when we do sell McKenna I would be looking at Kerr or Shagnasty from Saints as his replacement.
  16. So it wasn’t Ball who’s challenge was brushed aside by Alston as he ran in for the second goal. Thought looked powder puff at the game but waited to check TV highlights to make sure I was not being harsh on him. Any half way decent defensive midfielder would have made sure he either won the ball or brought Alston down. Ball did neither and it summed him up. Even playing at the best of his abilities he offers nothing going forward and is still capable of making the mistake that costs you a goal.
  17. Boca v River been a decent game so far with Boca just going 1-0 up. Great atmosphere even with the game being in Madrid. ETA: Finished 3-1 to River aet. Really good game. Some brutal challenges mixed in with some great skill, some comical dives and bizarre refereeing.
  18. Suspect it is because Wright has shown flashes of being a player who can win you the game on his day. At least folk think if he is on the pitch there is the chance of being entertained not bored ridged by the ball being passed backwards or sides ways for 90 minutes like some of our other players do. As for Tuesday I would expect Livingston to be even more organised and hard to breakdown than St J were on Saturday. We need to drop one from Ferguson Ball and Shinnie to allow McGinn to play through the middle to give us some creation in the middle of the park. Although Wright and McLennan were not great on Saturday I would give them another chance on Tuesday as I don’t see how a young player develops if he is dropped after one poor game. They need a run of games. As for striker I don’t think May did much wrong on Saturday and did well on the limited service he received so would be inclined to stick with him. Suspect McInnes will go with Cosgrove. Oot Work Flat Flat 1-0 McGinn
  19. Second leg of this is on Freesport at half 7 tonight. Game move to Madrid due to violence outside ground when they originally tried to play the second leg.
  20. 13304 according to BBC site. Pretty certain it was nowhere near that figure.
  21. Well that was worth travelling up for 3 hours dosed up on Imodium for. Our central 3 in the middle of the park offered zero going forward. This allowed St J to concentrate on stifling our wide players which they did very well. McGinn should have started in the centre to at least give us some creativity. We never looked like winning today and play the same way on Tuesday and we will get beat again.
  22. Signed for Patrick in October and played twice without scoring.
  23. Been impressed with him so far. Extended deal gives him more time to develop.
  24. Ball is a bottom six/championship player at best and should not be at Aberdeen. We should be looking for far better quality than Ball as a first team player.
  25. No rumours both Olsen and Forsyth who are Derby's usual left backs have knee injuries. Olsen is expected back before the end of the season and Forsyth is just waiting confirmation that his season is over.
