  1. Professional performance at a venue we normally struggle at. Agree we started poorly and if Joe had not touched a header on to the bar in first 10 minutes it may have had a different outcome. However once we got in front there was only going to be one winner. Results elsewhere have set up a massive game on Saturday against Killie. ETA: Clearly Ferguson that scored the third but PA annoncer at the ground awarded it to Cosgrove!
  2. Thought Gleeson played well at Livingston when he came on. Would be surprised if we got shot of him just yet.
  3. Stewart beat me to it. https://www.afc.co.uk/2019/01/22/chris-forrester/
  4. Cardiff City new signing Emiliano Sala involved in plane crash in the channel. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-guernsey-46954922
  5. These would be my main two objections. Christie deal should and subsequent cup winning goal should be putting us off any further loans from teams in our own league unless it’s a try before you buy set up. Should also say your last point also has merit.
  6. AFC saying that they are still to hear from Stenhousemuir on arrangements for the replay. Edit supporters club got ticket order form through tonight. Adult tickets are £15 for terrace. No mention of any stand tickets or how many we are getting.
  7. Back to league business on Wednesday at a venue where we have struggled in the past. Would assume that even if they are fit Devlin and Hoban will not be risked on the plastic carpet at Accies so would expect the same team as Saturday to go again. To be a tropical -2 on Wednesday. In Train then hopefully a beer near the ground Away end Hopefully a lift back to the capital if not then train 2-0 McGinn and Stewart
  8. Full 5th round draw. Ross County v Inverness Caledonian Thistle Hibernian v Raith Rovers Kilmarnock v Cowdenbeath or Rangers Heart of Midlothian v Auchinleck Talbot St Mirren v Dundee United East Fife v Partick Thistle Aberdeen or Stenhousemuir v Dundee or Queen of the South Celtic v St Johnstone
  9. Maybe it was sight of Dele Alli limping off just before goal.
  10. They do. One of worst I have seen and will probably be as much of a leveller as the heavy pitch was last time around.
  11. 4th Round Results Aberdeen 1 v 1 Stenhousemuir Auchinleck Talbot 1 v 0 Ayr United Celtic 3 v 0 Airdrieonians Cowdenbeath v Rangers - postponed Dundee 1 v 1 Queen of the South East Fife 2 v 1 Greenock Morton Inverness Caledonian Thistle 4 v 0 East Kilbride Heart of Midlothian v Livingston - played today Hibernian 4 v 0 Elgin City Kilmarnock 2 v 0 Forfar Athletic Montrose 0 v 4 Dundee United Motherwell 1 v 2 Ross County Partick Thistle 4 v 1 Stranraer Raith Rovers 3 v 0 Dunfermline Athletic St Johnstone 2 v 0 Hamilton Academical St Mirren 3 v 2 Alloa Athletic Great results for Talbot, Raith and County. Talbots result probably taking shock of the round title away from Stenny for their draw at Pittodrie. Draw for the 5th round is after Hearts v Livingston game today.
  12. Full interview from BBC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46935230
  13. A replay on their awful plastic carpet is not going to be a given. Stenhousemuir have been awful this season and to fail to put them away at home is embarrassing. As TC says seems a really odd decision to change a winning team. Got to wonder about what benefit the Jolly to Dubai and the winter break actually bring.
  14. Managers and Refs have called for VAR to be introduced in Scotland at summit in Perth. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiKt6mthvbfAhWB1-AKHWl1B-0QzPwBegQIARAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2F46913628&psig=AOvVaw1oIHBoJVW8fcU3Q3QM4utB&ust=1547856880199225 Would probably finish me with top flight football if this came in. Cannot see what difference it will make when you have the same referees and governing body making the decisions as we do currently.
  15. Lot of Hibs fans not overly impressed with Mallan so far.
  16. Great news.
  17. We did and that was only game we won for about 2 months from memory.
  18. Agree it seems an odd one for us to be linked with. Maybe they want him to play in middle to allow Shinnie to go to left back until end of season. Suspect this is just paper talk however.
  19. I remember thinking that prior to cup tie in 95. Turned out we were the ones who were horseshit. Given we have have just had a coupe of weeks off I see no reason not to start with the strongest team possible. By all means give some of the fringe players a run once we are winning the tie.
  20. Two days before an important cup tie and no match thread! Manc is really dropping the ball these days. Should have a good few back from injury to face a team we have never beaten in a competitive fixture. As we currently don’t have a left back would expect Hoban or Reynolds to partner McKenna in the centre of defence and Considine to move to left back. Would think GMS would return to midfield with McLennan dropping to bench which would be a bit unfair on the lad as he has played well since GMS injury. If May is fit no change up front. Oot - at the moment Flat Local game probably Leith v Musselburgh Flat 3-0 GMS Cosgrove and McGinn
  21. Sorry TC but I have to wonder if you have ever seen Ball play football with the above. His passing is nowhere near good enough. He is weak in the tackle (his piss poor attempt at a tackle that led to St Johnstone’s 2nd goal is an example of this) Defensively he is awful looks massively out of place at right back or centre half. Ball is at best a Championship level player and should not be anywhere near a team who intend challenging at the top of the table. Shinnie may not be playing at his own high standards this season he is still a far better player than Ball. Since he has been paired with Ferguson and coincidentally Ball out of the team he has looked a lot better.
  22. Really hope not as he is nowhere near the standard required to replace Shinnie.
  23. This. Would not be happy if we signed this waster.
  24. Hammer blow to Killie (and competition in our league) as Greg Stewart is recalled by Birmingham. Supposedly heading to Sunderland. This along with Jones signing precontract with Tribute Act will seriously weaken Killie making them less likely to do any damage to either of the arse cheeks.
