Would be tempted to go with both May and Rooney through the middle from the start in this one. Cannot see the need for 2 holding midfielders against Partick should should be able to play an old fashioned 4-4-2. Looked poor from stream I was watching. Could not understand why we would bring a defensive midfielder on when we had Greg Stewart on the bench. Surely we bring on an attacking player to try and win the game. When will McInnes understand Rooney is a central striker not a winger. May looks a shadow of the player who was at St Johnstone.

Sorry LA but Nwakali was awful today. Totally out of his depth. McLean was probably the only one to get pass marks. I would lay most of the blame for today firmly at the feet of McInnes. He got his initial tactics wrong then his change at half time actaully made things worse. I fear next week could be an even bigger doing.

Killie's plastic carpet was laid to save money not because it was a better surface than their existing grass one.

McLeish had a decent record the first time around. Probably the best of the Scottish candidates mentioned in the press. As others have said his appointment shows lack of ambition and narrow minded view of the SFA. Looks like they only consider Scottish candidates.
