Will be very surprised if Arnason stays. His contract should have been extended long before now but yet again despite Brown saying he would not let things drag we find ourselves in the situation of our players being able to speak to other in clubs in only 6 days and the Dons not having made them any offers.
Saw this guy play for Sligo against St Pats back in May and he looked a decent player. More mobile than Fallon I would say and more of a footballer than the ex goalie or Mackie.
Fees were brought in to prevent clubs appealing decisions even when they knew they had no chance of winning just to delay suspensions. You get the money back if the appeal is successful I believe.
As I said previously SFA set a precident when they said contact on Aluko was minimal and not enough to justify Aluko going down. Pawlet was similar situation. He did make the contact look a lot worse than it was and therefore is guilty of simulation. I just hope we see this applied to all the other teams in the league and we see an end to players throwing themselves to the ground at the slightest touch. Not holding my breath.
All sounds pretty good in theory but putting it in place will be the fun part. Can see good few major hurdles to over come. Cannot see SPL clubs giving up any income or power to other clubs. Also suspect convincing some of the junior clubs and EOSL clubs to go to the cost of applying for the pro licence to join the new super leagues might not be as easy as SFA seem to think.
From memory his goals per game ratio was the same for Killie as it was at the Huns.
Would have him at Dons in a heart beat but as others have said I doubt he would want to live outside of central belt.
Huns produced photographic evidence that there was contact on Aluko (supplied by the Daily Record funnily enough) but SFA still up held the ban as it was deemed to be minimal. Suspect them to do the same on Pawlet.
To be honest I am not convinced that he did not dive as soon as he felt contact so should be punished as contact was not enough to cause him to fall over. Game is being ruinned (okay one of the many things) by players falling over becuase they felt the slightest contact and not because they have actually been fouled.
Intrestingly the police are in the Retard saying that they have not been consulted by the SPL on this and give the impression that they are not in favour of the return of standing areas. Would think without the support of the police then this will be a non starter.
Cynic in me thinks this is just away of getting round the problem of Ross County not having enough seats if they win promotion. However if it results in standing comong back then I am all for it.
