  2. Poor first half, in all honesty a bit of a nothing game really. Second half much better. Really entertaining and we created numerous chances. Osbourne was immense, Pawlett coming on changed the game and pulled their defence all over the place and apart from foster and mcardle there wasn't a failure today. Best i've seen this season and for a while at ibrox. If only vernon or foster had a bit of composure we would have had at least a point. 1-0 would have flattered rangers
  3. You in the pub watching ManU rather than head to ibrox today bobby? Poor show.
  4. UEFA and FIFA also ban terracing (not that that is necessiraly much of a pressing issue in Scotland ) Noticed one game last week with a completely empty stand behind the goal as it was terracing. The alternative is something along the German model which is a bit fancier than Dave suggests:
  5. Gone to hibs on a 6 month loan, apparently is a Leith born hiv fan.
  6. The biggest problem with Scottish Football is the total lack of competition in the league and the gravitation of all cash, fans and sponsorship to Rantic. I'm not sure we would ever slip to the level of Irish or Welsh leagues tbh given the history and size of supports of the biggest clubs, even if we somehow managed to get rid of the OF I wouldn't expect a significant drop in crowds as they no longer boost home attendances anywhere they go. If you are talking about us being at the same level as the Irish League in terms of Europe it could be argued we are there already. If you took out rangers and celtic's coefficient points over the last 10-15years where would we rank? I can't think of anyone outside us for one season and Hearts for one season who got anywhere in Europe in that time. If our ranking really reflected the collective attempts of Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, United and assorted cup runners-up in the last 10yrs I'd hate to see where we'd be ranked. But to be honest Europe is all well and good but I would much prefer a decent competitive Scottish League, which I suspect would result in improved European performance over time. Europe if anything has exacerbated the problems of our league with the OF getting sums of money not even dreamt of by other clubs. Thus the gap has grown further and further with a demoralising effect on the rest of the league and an even more arrogant and expectant attitude at Ibrox and Parkhead. Someone elsewhere commented on how the Irish (and probably Welsh) leagues suffer as 1000s cross the border/sea every week to watch English clubs rather than their own. There is already an element of that up here which given the number of EPL shirts on kids is only likely to increase. The Scottish clubs need to work out how to get the excitement, crowds and most importantly the kids back into our stadiums. A decent competitive league would be a start. How you achieve that is another matter
  7. Just to confirm Shamrock Rovers are through. Maybe all these twats that come across on the stena line and ryanair every other saturday should back the bigger sides on their own door step.
  8. Oh and that's Shamrock Rovers through. Well done potatoes
  9. Tom English destroying huns left right and centre on Sportsound. Apparently the huns have a record of 1 win in 24 in europe. Makes a mockery of the free pass they get every year from the rest of scottish football.
  10. Just think how bad they would have been if they weren't up to speed?
  11. Do we want maribor to hold on or let rangers score another and take it to extra time so they are wrecked for sunday? Fuck celtic just scored too. Could we have a dramatic turn around?
  12. Rangers 0-1 some mob Some mob 2-0 celtic Hee hee
  13. Fuck sake someting needs to be done. There cunts are holding us back and ruining our coefficent. It's a joke diddy sides like this get into europe every season only to lose to rubbish from slovenia and switzerland
  14. Celtic a man and a goal down after three mins, rangers 0-0 at half time and hearts holding their own but already out. No scottish sides in europe before the end of august?!
  15. Surely there is a limit to this fucking bullshit?
  16. But I thought we weren't famous anymore. Aww the poor dears
  17. Seeded Can't see well losing to Clyde (who have managed to finish bottom of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in consecutive seasons) Ayr may have a chance against a poor ICT side However surely Livi have the best chance of an upset v St J given their respective starts this season. My wee cousin is St J mascot tonight so while it would be a shame for him if Livi won it kind of serves him right for not being a Dandy
  18. While browsing the Scottish League website the other day it looked like they would have highlights on there at some point as they had 1st Round highlights
  19. no fucking way?! I thought our crowds were fucking awful but that is unbelievable I read some where the last league cup tie we had at dens attracted over 6000 folk. I'd imagine we'd be lucky to have that it pittodrie tonight which is a shocking indictment on afc and scottish football
  20. Morton 2-1 St Mirren aka Hibs 2006 aka Brazil 1970 East Fife 1-1 Dunfermline
  21. Sounds all Aberdeen thus far with Mackie and Pawlett both having a couple of chances. Another goal or two before half time would go down a treat......we know what afc are like defending one goal leads
  22. agree but sadly reckon they still have better PR than us from Wolves POV
