Ach it was snowing in South Lanarkshire last week but didn't feel the need to share. Now the fucking rain on the other hand is unbelievable, even by West of Scotland standards, the amount of standing water on the roads is scary
  2. I voted Diamond because he managed to play 90mins with only one total fuck up. Well done loon
  3. Gavin Ritchie (hun and hates dandies apparently) is something to do with security at Pittodrie. There seems to have been some issues with over policing of dons fans while OF fans get away with murder and the Red Ultras Army 12 are upset about it. Credit to the few dozen of them though as they were the only ones trying to give the team any backing, although understandably it was tough going trying to get enthused by that match. With the upper RDS closed we headed to the SS and got seats in Section S quite near the back. First time I have sat in this section of the Stadium and provided and excellent view and with the Ultras behind us it seemed like the SS has good potential for creating some noise and atmosphere which is no doubt lost by the time it gets up to my usual vantage point at the back of the RDU. Imagine it is better when there is a big away support to "banter" with at the fence too. Knew the crowd was going to be low but a Killie esque crowd of 5k was even lower than I feared. Was discussing the crowd on the way home and I remeber ten years back in the dark days of ebbe thinking how although our crowds had dropped we had a hardcore of 10,000 who would be there through thick and thin. Sub 10k crowds were a very rare event. Also saw in the programme a tie from 1989, better times obviously, that saw a crowd at East End Park of something like 17k followed by 21k at Pittodrie for the replay......oh how times have changed. If you had told me 10yrs ago we would be playing for a QF place in the cup against the Pars infront of 5000 I would have laughed at you. Obviously 10yrs of utter misery, cup humiliation and barely a sniff of Hampden never mid a trophy has all impacted the crowd but you do wonder what will happen if AFC don't turn things around soon. £15 to get in today for what could have been a decent game on a pleasant February afternoon should be attracting more than it did. As for the game. Poor stuff and we suffered losing Milson so early on. Not convinced by the 3 up front we seemed to be playing at times and moving Blackman out left never looked like working. Our midfield was poor and either Young or Hartley should really have been hooked, with the promising Jack pushed inside and either Pawlett or big Josh on the wing. Josh "mixed it up" when he came on and offers us the directness we often lack. Am frustrated that Pawlett keeps getting played on the left side and doesn't seem to be showing the spark he did last season. 1st half was pretty even but we seemed to have endless chances to put the ball in the box but failed to deliver a decent cross, infact our final ball was lacking untill the 92nd min when Bebo fired one across the "danger area". 2nd half we were on top without really creating very much with most the interest generated by trying to work out what the banners behind us said and trying to work out who the fuck Gavin Ritchie is. All in all poor performance further hampered by yet more injuries. Will have to improve alot to get anywhere near enough points from our up coming games to get into top 6 but feel if we get a break with injuries it is just about do-able. The important thing is we're in the next round of the cup. Paisley here we come!
  4. Well obviously it was an amazing w/end in the EPL but I'm not sure where I said anything about the Scottish League (it was cup anyway) being better than anything, it quite clearly isn't. But as a Scottish football fan I'm interested in the the game here and am glad of some decent coverage. As if the blanket media coverage of the English game wasn't bad enough then the total lack of decent terrestrial coverage of the Scottish game means it is no surprise more and more kids support English teams while having a Scottish team who they have a soft spot for (the opposite way round from the likes of Tyrant, Stoney et al on here). When older Scottish fans are eschewing their own game for the tarted up EPL then is it any wonder the games in a fucking mess? 5th Round of the cup and the combined crowds of all the games minus the OF game will barely be half the crowd at Ibrox today, if that. That's tragic.
  5. Always good to log on and see loads of posts about some foreign league and just the one or two about our national cup competition. Little wonder the game is in such trouble up here. Anyway good to have a saturday night sportscene with proper highlights on tonight. Good showing by saints but should have had it wrapped up before ayr got back into it
  6. I'm all for creating a better atmosphere and getting the few singing fans we have together in one place but are they suggesting demonstrating at a vital and tricky cup tie when the crowd will be tiny?
  7. FFS FUCK SAKE Hibs have scored rat boy getting their first goal of 2011
  8. In/Oot: In Pre match: Driving from Glasgow Match: Not sure, maybe the SS if the weather is ok as the RDU is closed Post match: Driving to Glasgow Prediction: fucking easy 3-0
  9. What a load of pish. Saturday was terrible but you don't just suddenly give up on the lads after one game. There has been a huge improvement since Broon came on board and the players and club should get all they backing we can give them through what will be a tough month or two. Tough, because although we have improved massively we are still stuck with the majority of the squad McGhee assembled.
  10. Why the fuck is Lee McCulloch still anywhere near this team?!
  11. I see Middlesbrough's signing policy hasn't improved any
  12. I thought it was Dens, Anderson header to bring us back from 2-0 to win the game. In fact we maybe even scored twice with the "red arrows" that day, which I'm sure was the one and only time. Dundee's players were trying to man mark and were tripping over each other
  13. What happened between Wed and today? The lad never even came off the bench at the w/end
  14. Said much the same in the match thread. Scottish Cup is where it's at anyway
  15. What the fucking hell would be the point in that? I presume we'll tell them to fuck off
  16. I guess it was just not meant to be. Our improvement in form under Broon, as has been said, has come against the weakest sides in the league, and although very welcome doesn't remove the glaring deficiencies in our side. What disappointed me most was Broon's decision to change our set up and personnel. He as much as the players seemed to bottle it when it mattered most, which is sad, but as long he learns from this there is no reason why we can't continue our improved league form and carry that into the Scottish Cup. The tims may have got lucky with their first and been blessed by a rush of blood to deeks head for the 4th but sadly despite all our rhetoric about this being a weak, vulnerable Celtic side the gulf in class was clearly demonstrated in the first half. Second half we were better and probably deserved more than the one goal but celtic were already winding down by that point. Disappointing to see some folk hurling scarves etc onto the track side. This wasn't QotS, QP or Rovers. We were humiliated in the first half, and I can understand folk leaving early but aimlessly lobbing things on to the pitch was just a little pathetic. All in all yet another good day out at Hampden destroyed by a game of football. That's 3 semi finals and 3 Hampden appearances in a row I've seen us shop 4 goals. Maybe I should learn but the hope is hard to keep at bay and ends up being the thing that hurts the most.
  17. Open now apparently :bandwagon: :bandwagon: :ultras: :ultras: :ultras: :ultras: :ultras: :ultras: :ultras: :ultras:

  19. Tickets on sale at the ground tomorrow. Bloody hell that seems like a sensible decision
  20. Still no clarification on how you get a fucking certificate. Maybe I'll draw one up on Paint tonight
  21. Pizza Friday tonight, then tomorrow thought I'd pop out for lunch somewhere. Maybe somewhere nice and quiet like the Church on the Hill.
