  1. Would seem a bit high given the chat on here. I would have hoped we would get up to that but suspect we will be closer to 10,000. Be interesting to see what kind of support Glasgow Celtic bring to the neutral venue of Hampden Park, Glasgow G42 9BA, a stadium with a "Celtic End". Cunts.
  2. We are now selling tickets in Section B for the West Stand which I presume means A4 to A7 are sold out. Not sure if they would make us sell out the Family section is A1-A3 and South Stand sections P and O before giving us more in the West Stand or not. Anyway would guess we are looking at c8-9000 sold thus far.
  3. Threave v stenny finally got played tonight. Was 5-1 stenny at one point
  4. Because they think they can "split the OF" whatever the fuck that is meant to mean.
  5. B teams is a fucking stupid idea How about reinstating the fucking reserve league if they want a competitive set of games for fringe players. The reserve league was abolished because nobody could afford a reserve team, and I would say outside the OF probably only Hearts and Hibs could afford one at present. The introduction of B teams doesn't change this financial situation and immediately makes a mockery of the lower leagues and quite possibly the end of some smaller clubs. I never quite get this "too many team" stuff either. There are basically 2 leagues of professional sides and then 6 or 7 semi-pro leagues (SFL Div 2& 3, HFL, ESL, Junior Super Leagues etc). I presume you mean too many senior sides, yet the only leagues that have significant problems financially are the top 2 leagues (ignoring Stranraer's recent troubles). Most clubs are very well run, have little or no debt and are in far less danger of going under that AFC. To randomly abolish or exclude these clubs from the senior set up would have next to no effect on the finances, crowds or anything else of the clubs in the top 2 leagues. I agree with a lot of the other points but sadly it will be a cold day in hell before the OF agree equal distribution of TV cash.
  6. It involves the SFA, in a way we should be impressed with how quickly they have dealt with things
  7. Apparently we have an initial allocation of 9000 so hopefully we shift all of that and can get a few more. 3pm KO on Saturday, you would be hope we would be well into 5 figures for this.
  8. This has nothing to do with football. If AFC feel it brings the business into disrepute, as for any company, it is reasonable to censure them I suppose. It has fuck all to do with the SFA however. If only they put as much effort in noting the party songs coming from the stands every time the scum(x2) visit.
  9. Ah, it's been a while since we were able to bump this up the forum. Oot the cup infront of 6000 folk tonight
  10. Updated draw: Aberdeen v Montrose or Dunfermline Inverness v Morton or Airdrie Hamilton v Dundee Utd or Ross County Stenhousemuir or Threave or Stranraer v Motherwell East Stirling or Buckie Thistle v Brechin :o :o Rangers v Celtic Hibs or Ayr v St Mirren or Peterhead St Johnstone v Partick Thistle or Falkirk
  11. I agree with the sentiment behind a lot of that. I was under the impression UEFA were brining in something along these lines anyway, although quite how it would work with ManU, Barca, Real Madrid etc I'm not sure. However most clubs in Scotland, even Hearts and with exception of perennial cheats Dundee, are trying to do this already, would it not just add a layer of bureaucracy and cost when what we should be doing the exact opposite?
  12. Reekie is hard up so I'll save him the bill
  13. repeat, excellent stuff I see Shameless is back for another series tonight. Lets hope it continues on the slightly improved form of last season as opposed to the dross it descended into after the first two excellent series.
  14. and further help from P&B (if you like your geeky football facts check out their Infowire Section: http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php/forum/55-infowire/
  15. Yeah I had a look there too and I suspect we have never entered this before. In fact it looks like they have even tried to play it as a minileague type thing in the past. I guess with no reserve league afc are taking any opportunity they can to give players a run out. EDIT: It also isn't listed as an option on the afc heritage site when you search head to heads so pretty sure we have never entered it as it is pretty comprehensive if a little tricky to extract the info you want at times (would be good if they could improve the head to head function so it listed all individual games rather than just over totals for example). The Shield must be fairly minor even in the small world of Aberdeenshire Football as it doesn't even warrant a mention on Brian McColl's superb site: http://scottish-football-historical-archive.com/atoz.htm
  16. Official Crowd: 13,215 Maybe our sub 7000 crowd wasn't that bad. Thread on P&B asking when was the last time the huns had a sub 15k crowd against "top flight" opposition. Any guesses?
  17. Have we ever entered the Shield? I can find no information about it on any the usual websites
  18. wikipedia suggests it is a different tournament
  19. wtf is the Aberdeen Shield? Is this the same as the Aberdeenshire Cup?
  20. Missed most the 1st half. What happened to Killie? Radio Scotland were busying telling me on the way home (and seemingly for weeks) that Killie are the best footballing side in the league at the moment. The few mins I did see looked like pretty much the usual Killie to me. I mean ffs sake they let laugherty score!
  21. Most folk have voted "YES they would be happy to pay a bit more and get a couple of cup games on their ST", which seems to go against the views expressed in the posts. I would think that we are now at a stage where those with ST aren't going to suddenly stop renewing because of an extra £20 or so, thus would sign up for this deal, whether new ST holders would be enticed to sign up is another matter. Wonder what the economics of it are for the club? Is it worthwhile having crowds of 6000k for a cup tie? Would they lose out or gain from having some cup games on a ST? The whole splitting the gate thing is obviously a sticking point but is important for the integrity of the competition and it shouldn't and will never be even consider for abolition. However after all that, and all the crap crowds at the weekend there is due to be 12k at Ibrox tonight. Weather, Monday night, cooncil TV are all clearly to blame for this but the OF must be getting nervous at how fickle and fluctuating their crowds are these days, esp Celtic.
  22. This thread is going round and round in circles and is rapidly just becoming folk throwing insults about LOCKED
