  1. Maybe I should change mine: What do they feel are "realistic" expectations for afc in the medium to longterm, do they think the last 15yrs have been acceptable and "realistic" and do the believe the Aberdeen Support have "unrealistic" expectations? How much of the failure over the last 15yrs to seriously challenge for anything is due to the state of Scottish and European football or the management of the club on and off the park?
  2. 3. What is the long term plan for afc? Where do they feel afc should be in terms of Scottish Football?
  3. I'm hoping Vettel wins it so that probably means Alonso will.
  4. Special mention to the cunts next to us who looked to be attached to the red army 12 group (although i'd be happy to proven wrong) who repeatedly tried to start up ibrox disaster songs. Utter scum and not welcome in our support. I hate the huns but that is just not acceptable. As for the game, not the worst performance i've seen down there and better teams have settled for similar results. Langfield was superb and we were much more solid than last week. Yesterday was never going to be a decisive match for us. Next week however probably is.
  5. and yet lobbed note pads will result in "somebody getting killed"
  6. Interesting Article from this months WSC: It should also be noted, despite Chick Young's rantings that almost had me off the road the other night, that afc are not really a sacking club any more. Nobody has had less managers than us in the SPL over the last 9 years since Ebbe joined us: Aberdeen 4 Tims 5 United 7 Accies 4 Hearts 9 Hibs 8 Caley Thistle 6 Killie 4 Well 7 Huns 4 St J 5 Helen 4
  7. I refuse to believe that cunt is capable of writing. As JC is so fond of saying, and as he did again last night, you go to Ibrox for most SPL games and the place is like a morgue. Aberdeen come to town, the songs come out, the atmosphere rises and they celebrate goals like no other. Of course they care, but it's nice of them to pretend they don't. Oh and Durrant......almost without fail over the last few years it has been their support that have started the songs about this despicable cunt, which allows them to howl and scream in outrage as we retort back "Who is that lying at Pittodrie?"
  8. Not today's football but I see the Tims are playing away from home on Remembrance Sunday again.....oh joy.
  9. nae reply yet. I'll txt you when I hear anything
  10. May have a taker for that I'll confirm asap
  11. correct me if I'm wrong but only Hearts and maybe Hibs pay more in wages than we do, therefore although there may well be under investment, it is still more investment than anyone else
  12. Hart getting a regular game for Hibs under CC is he not and I'm sure Maybury is back in the SPL somewhere. Lets be honest I would imagine anyone that calls themselves a full back would be better than our current options of Ifil or kids
  13. Really? Do we? In adversity over the last 15yrs I can only think of acrimony and a diveded support, dwindling crowds and increasing apathy. The only time we managed to show a glimmer of "pulling together" was when we beat Falkirk to ensure we wouldn't be relegated last season. I suppose he is talking about 1995, and as has been covered previously I'm not sure the spirit of '95 has been anywhere near the club since about 1996. If we continue as is acrimony, apathy and dwindling crowds are likely to cause long term damage to our support. If McGhee lifts the team and sots out the mess I suspect there will still be many, like with JC, who will struggle to forgive him for his 16months in charge so far. If we are going into the last few games bottom, a la 95, needing wins to save us, I dare say we will rally round, but I'm not sure that's what Chris was really suggesting.
  14. Hardly a massive vote of confidence given they took almost a week to make their minds up. I suspect this may just be a stay of execution. Any way not much else for it but to back the team the best we can, they certainly need the support.
  15. Aberdeen Mad poll sitting at: Stay 69.2% Go 31.3%
  16. of course it would Home games left this season excluding cups and presuming equal home and away games is 13 13x£40k is £520k Therefore IF crowds go up by 2000, which is highly debatable, we might break even in terms of the difference with and without McGhee but even then it is a much reduced income on recent years.
  17. Crude maths, presuming a change of manger would boost crowds (I realise this may be a bit unrealistic) Average crowds are sub 8000. Last season they were about 1000 2000 x £20 = £40,000 Reported comp £400,000 + whatever it costs to get a new guy, so I suppose the economics of it make sense IF we can then punt him for nothing in May and IF we don't get relegated
  18. Ignoring the usal pseudo hun pish quite like the banner the hunbos had last night: Celtic Ashamed of Nothing, Offended By Everything.
  19. As ever a well argued and reasoned post ajja. Main issue I would have is that we are in the middle of a truly horrific run with no turning point in sight. Only hamilton sit between us and the bottom of league and the concern would be that McGhee will not be able to pull us away from the relegation trap door. I would say given the standard of the league that relegation is unlikely but long gone are the days when we could argue we are too big or good to be relegated. The biggest worry is the set up and balance of the defence. If that is not sorted we will struggle and I'm convinced that McGhee will NOT be able to sort it out from the evidence I have seen so far. Therefore we need to find a way to bite the bullet.
  20. Interesting move for him. Think probably a good appointment by CC and would have been nervous about him coming straight into the hotseat at Pittodrie.
  21. Questions have to be asked about the contracts we are giving managers. I understand we want to protect our investment in case they get poached by another team but our track record of no managers leaving us to go to another club since 1986 would suggest it isn't something we need worry about too much.
  22. In/Oot: In Prematch: undecided, Counting House or West End probably Match: Where ever they put me Post match: Trying to make it home alive Prediction: If we weren't going to get pumped before the Hibs result we certainly are now
  23. to clarify Turnstyles is a "pub" (in the broadest definition of the word)
  24. Funnily enough we were initially refused entry to Turnstyles on Saturday as apparently last time Aberdeen were there folk were singing about Tommy Burns and almost started a riot. I suspect this was utter bullshit on the part of the monkey on the door but given the IQ of some of our fans who knows
