  1. Definitely short of a midfielder if we get any more injuries. Must be a case for trying to get another loan signing in over and above the current budget.
  2. Trazbonspor 1-0 Liverpool after 3mins.
  3. Stokes to Celtic pretty much a done deal according to Sportsound. Tims also looking to sign some other foreign player but I missed his name.
  4. THIRD ROUND DRAW (Friday apparently): Seeded: Rangers, Celtic, Dundee United, Hibernian, Motherwell, Hearts, St Johnstone, Aberdeen Unseeded: Kilmarnock, Inverness CT, Falkirk, Dunfermline, Queen of the South, Ross County, Raith Rovers, Brechin City Ties will be played on the 21st/22nd September. Shame our games are always Tue nights as I'd be able to get to a game pretty much anywhere other than Dingwall on the Wednesday but looks like I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Killie, Falkirk, Dunfermline and maybe even Rovers or QotS, although all apart from Brechin look pretty treacherous given our history over the last 5 years or so.
  5. ICT 3 v Peterhead 0 Killie 6 v Airdrie 2 - Should we be worried Killie have scored six? Qos 4 v Forfar 1 Ross County 3 v St Mirren 3 (4-3 County on pens)
  6. Montgomerie frets over Ryder team Venue: Gleneagles, Scottish Highlands Dates: Thursday 26 August - Sunday 29 August Coverage: Regular updates on comprehensive reports on the BBC Sport website & mobiles; all four days European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie says selecting his team is a "more or less impossible" task given the quality of players available. The top nine in the points table after the Johnnie Walker Championship on Sunday will qualify for the October tie against the United States. Montgomerie will then pick three wildcards to complete the line-up. "I have a preferred three in my head, but I'm sure something will happen that will change that," said Montgomerie. The 47-year-old Scotsman, who is considered one of the greatest Ryder Cup players of all time, added: "This has been the hardest team to make of any Ryder Cup team I have been involved with. "I wish I could take 20, because 20 deserve their spots this year. "They have played great, the standard on tour has been the best it's ever been. Benemike "I cannot please everybody on Sunday. I am going to have to leave out players that feel they can help the European Tour cause." Choosing his wildcards is complicated by the decisions of Padraig Harrington, Luke Donald, Paul Casey and Justin Rose - who have all played key roles in past Ryder Cups - in electing to miss the Johnnie Walker Championship to play the lucrative in the US. Ireland's triple major winner Harrington, England's world number nine Casey, and his 10th and 22nd-ranked compatriots Donald and Rose are all outside the top nine in But Montgomerie insists he is not fazed by the quartet's decision to miss the last qualifying event. "I will be selecting the best 12 players," Montgomerie said at Gleneagles. "My remit at the start of this campaign - and it's never changed - was to assemble the best 12 players. "The situation of players not attending here has changed in my opinion. I'm glad that the players (in America) that might well get selected are playing competitive golf. "I think the American team's performance at Valhalla was boosted by the fact that they were playing competitive golf right up to the Ryder Cup. "If it boosts their performance it can boost our own." From the rankings, which are led by England's Lee Westwood, only Peter Hanson, Miquel Angel Jimenez and sixth-placed Ross Fisher have entered the Johnnie Walker event. But England duo Ross McGowan and Simon Dyson, and Spain's Alvaro Quiros could also force their way into the top nine at Gleneagles. Hanson, who moved to eighth in the points table and pushed out Casey after has criticised the Johnnie Walker absentees and questioned how much some players want to be part of the Ryder Cup. "If you really want to make the team - and, of course, if you are that close - then you should be here and playing," said the Swede. Italy's Scottish Open champion Edoardo Molinari, who will play at Gleneagles from Thursday to Sunday, is another player hopeful of being given one of Montgomerie's three wildcards. "If you base the decision on results rather than reputations then I think I deserve a wild card more than the others," he said. "But the Ryder Cup is not only about results." The United States won the last Ryder Cup in 2008 after Europe had emerged victorious from the previous three. This year's edition takes place at Celtic Manor in Wales from 1-3 October. 7. http://news.stv.tv/scotland/193856-millionaire-football-fan-avoids-jail-term-after-setting-fire-to-rival-supporter/ A millionaire football fan who almost killed a rival supporter by setting fire to his home-made sheep costume, avoided jail on Wednesday after agreeing to pay his victim £25,000 compensation. Peter Wallace, heir to a £3m Fife farm which has been in his family for five generations, caused panic on a crowded train after setting his victim Arjuna Rabindranath alight. Mr Rabindranath, 24, ran through the carriage, blazing and in agony. Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court heard that the pair were among fans, many of them in fancy dress to celebrate Halloween, returning from Aberdeen's October 31 Scottish Premier League fixture at Hibs last year. Wallace, 24, who manages the farm near St Andrews, repeatedly flicked his lighter near Aberdeen fan Arjuna's costume - made of a white tracksuit and cotton wool - until it caught light. Depute fiscal Mark McGuire, prosecuting, told the court: "People heard screaming and saw a man on fire running about." One of the passengers on the Edinburgh to Aberdeen train described the sight of the burning, panic-stricken fan running through the carriage as "like a scene from a horror movie". People threw beer on to Arjuna's sheep outfit to try and douse the flames, but to no affect. The victim was taken to hospital in Dunfermline but later transferred to the specialist burns unit at St John's Hospital in Livingston. Reckless The court heard that Wallace, wearing a Hibs top, later approached police at Kirkcaldy railway station and said: "It was me. I was just mucking about with a lighter and accidentally set fire to the man." Arjuna suffered second and third-degree burns to more than 40% of his body, and there were fears for his life because of the damage caused to his lungs by smoke inhalation and sepsis. He remained in hospital until January when he was discharged at his own request into the care of his mother, who came from India to look after him. Wallace, of Kincaple Farm Cottages, near St Andrews, Fife, pleaded guilty to culpably and recklessly flicking a lighter, causing it to spark and set his victim's clothes alight. David Bell, defending, said Wallace was the eldest of three and was brought on the arable family farm - but had previously received a football-related on the spot fine which, the solicitor said, resulted from him "drinking at a Hibs semi-final at Hampden Park in 2007". The offence was dealt with by a fine. He said: "He went to agricutural college in Aberdeen for two years but had to return after his father died a tragic death after an eight-months fight with cancer. He moved back five years ago to work on the farm, and is now the manager, in effect. "The farm is worth £3m and has assets of £250,000. My client is due a third of that, along with his two siblings. He lives for his family work and his mother describes him as a workaholic. He plays rugby and is also a Hibs fan." Distraught He added: "He attended the game in question. He met the Mr Rabindranath on the train and they talked in good humour about it. They even exchanged number to meet that night. He was distraught when later questioned by police about the incident, but he has always accepted responsibility. "Some have described the Mr Rabindranath as looking like a fireball. It was a stupid and reckless act. He asks himself now what Mr Rabindranath must think of him, after his life was turned upside down. He has written to him apologising, and he hopes the Crown will be able to pass it onto him once the case is over. "If he went to jail, it would have a catastrophic effect on the farm and his family. His younger brother, who is less experienced at farm work than he is, would have to leave his studies as an accountant to take over." Sheriff Grant McCulloch ordered Wallace to be admonished, in addition to making the compensation order. He told Wallace: "This case is tragic not only for you and your family, but for the effect it has had on the victim. It has been catastrophic for him. This incident again shows the dangers of playing with a naked flame. I accept you didn't want to cause harm - this is more like a terrible accident. "Your behaviour since has shown a level of maturity and I have seen your letter to the victim, and it is very sympathetic. I accept you are unlikely to offend again, and there would be no benefit in imposing a custodial sentence."

  10. Maitland on the BBC website blaming Fyvie's choice of boots on his injury: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_cups/8943046.stm
  11. That is my understanding. Draw friday apparently
  12. Comfortable win although Alloa probably deserved a goal. Fyvie was superb before he went off and really hope it isn't too serious. Bebo scored a stunner but was fucking hopeless out wide, although did do a bit better once played through the middle. Also a little disappointed with the two new lads up front. However three goal win at a side who have been doing well this season and through to the next round. Three games. Three wins. Eight goals for. None against. COYR
  13. Jism for the sack? MegaLol! @ Dundee
  14. living in the past...crowd obsessed....blah..blah..blah

  18. Laugherty off. What a fucking odious scumbag that cunt is.
  19. I see McGregor has been talking lessons from Laugherty. Utter cunt.
  20. Superb result. Felt the game had 0-0 written all over it, but there was no doubt who would win after Barren notched his first of the season. It's a game we would have definitely lost in the last 2 seasons so great to see a bit of grit a determination about the side again. I thought Folly and Aluko were stand outs again and what a difference it is to have an on form a winger and a midfield of any sort. Also though Ilfil was superb. Won everything at the back which is all you can ask. Can't pass a ball for shit but then we all know that, and he knows that too, as long as he concentrates on defending like that we'll be fine. Now for some negatives. We need full backs. As good as McArdle and Consi did today neither are full backs and we are restricted out wide by having them in the team. I'd get Foster in now on the right and bust a gut to get Bassey if MM believes he can do a job for us.. Pawlett needs to be playeed wide right. Did a good job today but only times he looked really dangerous was with the ball at his feet in the wide areas. A midfield with aluko and pawlett out wide would destroy most sides in this league. Maguire did ok but the frustration was always there that Pawlett would have done better. And then following on from that Maguire needs to be played through the middle. He is a good, honest player and will do whatever job he is asked but if he is to have any career at this level he needs to be played through the middle more often otherwise he'll disappear into obscurity as he is not a winger. I know MM wanks over this 433, and it has worked well so far, but I'd love to see Magennis or Vernon with more support in the middle and have us utilise our potential out wide to the full. All in all great day out. Superb win and no reason why we can't be top with 9 points this time next week. I suspect this side is top6 material and no more and Europe or anything else will be a bonus this year, however this league is so much a about confidence. If we can maintain this run after the international break when we have some really tough games (united and well away and huns at home) then anything is possible. At the moment I'll settle for a win against Alloa and a continuation of the fight and spirit we've seen this season against Killi.
