  1. How many Directors get paid, is it just Miller and Fraser? Total paid to Directors was £268k last year, down from £276k in 2008.
  2. rocket? From the latest annual report: http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/staticFiles/79/41/0,,10284~147833,00.pdf (page 15) I presume this is Willie. He also appeared to get £33k in pension contributions.
  3. fuck we need something to cheer us up: Pumped out the cup, just two shots on goal and fans out numbered 2:1 by St Mirren!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_cups/8492041.stm
  4. I hear Kerr and McDonald were yet again atrocious tonight. Shame we have absolutely no options in there
  5. Newswipe: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00qjnl2/Newswipe_Series_2_Episode_3/ Brilliance from Brooker as ever. His summation of the recently increased "threat level" was brilliant. Had to love Sting on Newsnight too....arrogant twat oh and don't forget Doug Stanhope's bit. EDIT: ooh BBC iplayer seems to embedded itself on here, never knew that
  6. Sorry that was my fault I thought after we got past getting players sent off every week that McGhee was beginning to improve the team, play some decent (reasonable) passing football and even look solid at the back. Quite what has happened I'm not sure but after those first timid steps forward we seem to have gone crashing backwards. Amazing to think 2 games ago we were basking in 3 wins out of 4 including two demolitions of Hearts. Have we really suddenly become so bad over night? Were those decent results merely papering over the cracks? Are we just going to be faced with a horrifically inconsistent season? The biggest problem in the two games I have seen recently (Killie and St Mirren) have been a total lack of width, especially on the left; Ilfil and Grassi's inability to play football; and a total lack of cutting edge up front. Our lack of width hasn't been addressed and although MM was allegedly allowed to put in a bid for O'Brien it was clearly a pitiful amount and surely no more than a gesture from the board. Without Pawlett or Aluko we really have nothing coming from out wide and there is no way we can rely on them all season. Hopefully Paterson and Zander will shore up the defence and mean we are less reliant on Grassi and Ilfil but the celtic and motherwell games aside this year we haven't really been to bad here. As for up front time will tell if MacLean is going to be the goal scorer we've been crying out for for years but I guess if he has ended up at us we know what the answer will be. However despite all that the biggest problem has perhaps been the shameful performances by our so called senior players....yes that's supposedly you Kerr and McDonald (and until yesterday Miller). As a result we have been woefully weak in the middle of the park and had to rely on a 16 year old to try and do two jobs in there. Despite a few glimpses of promise (undefeated v rangers, hammering hearts, pawlett, fyvie, paton and an improvement in our passing at times) the season has been a fucking mess since a typically farcical pre-season. McGhee HAS to win on Saturday, there are no two ways about that. What happens after that, with Hibs and Celtic on the horizon, fuck knows.
  7. I can't wait for the "told you so" brigade to appear. DT had a reasoned level of debate over the last few years but I know this thread will descend into a discussion about JC and how the JMGers did this, said that, make excuses etc etc etc
  8. http://www.donstalk.co.uk/messageboard/chat/
  9. The bench.....eek: Substitutes * 21 Nelson, * 18 Grassi, * 14 Young, * 16 Duff, * 20 Marshall, * 26 Jack, * 24 Paton
  10. Are some folk guessing how many goals he'll score against Killie tonight instead of his total for the season?
  11. So 442? Paterson in midfield? McDonald or Fyvie on the right? All sounds a bit narrow again, anyway good to see we are playing 2 up top.......we are playing 2 aren't we?
  12. Apparently we were in discussions about Clarkson; made an offer for O'Brien (but MM says himself he would have turned it down as they are hopeful he will stay there next year) and also contacted Kyle.
  13. The rule certainly exists that if you have played in the Scottish Cup with one club you can't then go on and play for another club in that years competition. Can't imagine there is, or ever has been, a rule that says playing in a different countries national cup competition stops you from playing in ours. I do seem to remember however that the SFA have had a different deadline for this round of the Scottish Cup meaning last minute signings aren't legible until the next round, dunno if that is the case this year
  14. Don't forget all the youngsters just waiting to burst into the top team.....
  15. Dunno if anyone has RedTV but apparently McGhee is on there saying we had pretty much agreed to sign some other player, forms were sent off to be signed and then he went and signed for someone else. Suspect that means that's it for Jan 2010
  16. Paterson replacing Ross and having Zander back means we have reasonable cover at the back I would have thought. Midfield is served pretty well although we are crying out for a winger as we won't have both a fit Pawlett and Aluko for any prolonged period of time. Up front is incredibly threadbare though, especially if McLean fails to find the net......mind you if MM continues with his one up front idea then maybe we're better covered than you would think
  17. IN: Marshall (loan) McLean (loan) Paterson (loan) OUT: Wright (contract ripped up) Maguire (loan - Killie) Miller ('Boro c£500k) Ross (end of contract) What do we think, presuming that's it? Three strikers out and only one in, kinda leaves us a bit thin on the ground up front if we get any injuries. Certainly a great deal to get cash for Miller and losing Wright is less significant than losing the tea-lady. Maguire loan is an intersting one. MM doesn't seem to rate him and has continued to play him out wide when if he is effective anywhere it is surely through the middle. Also can't see JC either playing him much or playing him through the middle (I mean he never did when he was here). Will hopefully pan out differently and he gets a few goals and some regular game time up front, but can't see it. Still a thread bare squad and could do with one more signing at least but overall, thanks to the Miller money I'd say a net gain for us.
  18. Chris Maguire goes 01.02.2010 ABERDEEN striker Chris Maguire has joined Kilmarnock FC on loan until the end of the season. The 21 year old will join up with his old boss Jimmy Calderwood at Rugby Park, and could go straight in to the squad for their Clydesdale Bank SPL game against Celtic tomorrow evening.
  19. Was under the impression it was a done deal. Killie website will probably be updated next month and the BBC have stopped reporting transfer now the window is closed down south.
  20. done deal apparently. Interesting one as JC never really gave him a consistent run when he was here, and more often than not played him as a winger rather than through the middle.
  21. Suppose it's better not to waste £500k (if that is really how much we got) on panic buys. Two decent stop gap signings. If they do a job we might be able to keep hold of them. If not then nothing lost and we have the best part of £500k to spend in the summer.
  22. Paterson too Now another striker would go down a treat.......or even a winger.
