  1. stat stolen from mad. Did we really expect to score tonight when you see this? Goals this season from tonight's team (excluding Langfield!) Young - 0 Ifil - 0 Mulgrew - 4 (and one of them was in Europa League qualifier) Grassi - 0 Foster - 0 Kerr - 0 Fyvie - 0 Marshall - 0 Pawlett - 0 Mackie - 1 (in Scottish Cup on Saturday) Maguire - 1 Paton - 2 (both in League Cup at Dundee) Wright - 0
  2. wishful thinking I suppose. They did really create fuck all and that 5min spell was the only time they created anything other than when we were chasing the game. Another question. When was the last time we were consistently dangerous at corners? I lost count of the number of corners we had tonight and created half a chance in total. For a team so lacking in a cutting edge we should surely be working our damnedest to make the most of set pieces. Oh and as good as Fyvie is he cannae shoot to save his life.
  3. 850 apparently. Looked like more but I suspect that is due to the fact the stand is actually tiny. Terrible start to the match where we couldn't string more than two passes together but gradually came into it were dominating by the end of the half. Second half again some good pressure and possession. Can certainly see McGhee has been working on our style of play with some really good passing triangles and movement in the midfield. Problem is the cross or set pieces we won from our good play were always a disappointment, either for hitting the first man or for the lack of any aberdeen player looking interested on getting on the end of them. Their keeper was never really made to work in the 2nd half although we hit the bar from a deflected free kick and maguire had a great shot come off the far post. Only time in the 2nd we really fell out the game was when Dargo and Maguire came on. They got their goal and then it was back to us lumping the ball forward to mackie and maguire (and eventually Wright) to try and get on the end of. Really frustrating as have seen us play alot worse under JC and get a result, certainly would say we played better than our last visit where we salvaged a draw in the last minute. We desperately need some cutting edge up front. McGhee also needs to show confidence in maguire or paton through the middle if mackie or miller are not available due to form, suspensions or injury. And to the board. If bringing in a striker (be it McLean or whoever) means a nominal fee then fucking well get your cheque book out. You should make the money back in prize money for league position and hopefully crowds. We cannot carry on playing with the same strike force that has produced 13 league goals for us in half a fucking season!
  4. Yeah just checked the forum. Thought you had got a ticket for some reason......I mean GD at a game Just about to head off. The queue at the ticket office better not be to big
  5. Yeah but as I said above is there going to be any player from later than the mid 90s that will get anywhere near the team?
  6. do you not have a ticket for this? And if so why you not using it or giving it to me?

  12. Think that is only for the first game of the ban
  13. Team Lines from Sportsound: Langfield Ross Ilfil Mulgrew Pawlett Fyvie Kerr Young Marshall Mackie Missed one player and not sure how we are lining up
  14. I agree with your first point. Part of the problem with the SPL is the lack of turnover in clubs. It's always enjoyable going to a new ground or a ground you haven't been to for years and definitely encourages more people to travel. I think the only real way to do that though is to increase the relegation/promotion spots. I'm not convinced that a bigger league will make the football more entertaining or enjoyable. I'm sure QotS vs Ross County is much more likely to get a reasonable crowd in and generate some excitmemtb as a promiotion battle rather than a lower-mid table game in the SPL. I'm not entirely convinced that the football would be any better either, and in my view would probably be less exciting
  15. yes instead of games vs celtic, rangers, hearts and hibs we have games vs partick thistle, ross county, QotS and Raith Rovers Look out the "sold out" signs for those games
  16. Winter break will not work due to the unpredictable nature of our weather. The league should start earlier (not an option listed) so less midweek games are played in mid-winter. Expansion may well be a good idea but will never happen as it mean less home games and/or more home games against diddy teams instead of the OF, Us, Hearts and Hibs who all take decent supports to most grounds. Although nobody travels well to aberdeen our home crowd would suffer if we had more home games against the likes of Hamilton rather than United or Hearts. Only real change in structure would be a play-off place. SPL 2 would effectively kill off the SFL
  17. would have quite liked a free text section

shame the cooncil didn't Not that much snow on the ground but absolutely no sign of any gritters on the roads out to East Kilbride this am and pretty ropey conditions. Also seems that as well as the roads being covered in ice they are now beginning to fall to bits due to the prolonged cold weather. My route to work has a ridiculous number of pot holes at the best of times but it is going to destroy my car fairly rapidly at this rate
